  1. I actually like the blue/gold colour scheme for the YF-21... but a Low Vis scheme ala the F-22 would be awesome!
  2. You gotta scratch build it yourself... unless Bandai releases a special set at the upcoming hobby show, or someone does a resin cast.
  3. I'm not sure how much credit you should give to that blog post. Plasma stealth, while theoretically possible, faces tremendous practical difficulties, not the least of which is the ability to generate and sustain a plasma around an airframe taking into account the complex airflow (and how to prevent that plasma from being ingested by the engines, which would not be good, to say the least). Also, all you gotta do to defeat it is to switch to IR sensors Moving on: Predator C-- the future of air warfare? General Atomics is really making it big in the UAV arena, beating out or at least competing equally with established firms like NG, LM and Boeing.
  4. Or maybe it is named in memory of the half-breed that helped save the world! I mean, he's the pioneer test subject for BCS/BDI, so for Mac Galaxy, which has so much cybernetics work going on, he would be a good mascot to get behind, helping people get over their objections about having cyborgs around
  5. Great review Jenius! Are you ordering 3 Ghosts through Overdrive as well?
  6. It's the revenge of the brownies! All the attention-whore-main-characters can go forward and catch the enemy fire, while the brownies sit back and relax
  7. The closest you'll get to that will be the VF-X2 Ravens scheme (if it is released).
  8. On the other hand, if you consider the whole VF-25 toy line, with the DX toy that has detachable Super parts (and minimal partsforming), the 1/72 kit that requires extensive partsforming for Super packs, and the 1/100 line that probably will come with non-detachable Super/Armoured parts, I see this as a deliberate choice to differentiate their different product lines rather than an "Oops! We screwed up!" moment. Pretty smart of Bandai IMO.
  9. Not that we know of. One can always hope though..maybe with a version 2.0... Yamato did take a couple of tries before they got the VF-0 right afterall.
  10. honkhet: So clear coat on the joints is absolutely necessary for a proper gerwalk mode?
  11. Well the Ozma Armoured seems to be a bundle and not standalone, so if you have a VF-25S kit you can just build it in clean (or Super) configuration.
  12. Sweet thanks alot MJ. I will be receiving my VB-6 in a few days!
  13. Or rather, Bandai should license the KM from Yamato to release their own SMS ver. It would go perfectly with their 1/100 line afterall.
  14. A few people have managed to keep the crotch armour on in fighter mode. Maybe they could chime in-- I'll only be getting my Super parts tomorrow and I'll try it out as well.
  15. Amazing build Thanks for the post!
  16. They are actually the right colour for Episode 1 I think.
  17. Sweet.. let me guess... VF-19A, VF-11B from VF-X2?
  18. I'm loving the MacPlus Ghost X-9. Pretty sad that there aren't any model kit releases in May!
  19. Amazing! Especially with the ghosts. I'm still fighting with the decals for them
  20. BTW, are you (or your friend) able to make more SMS logos and signs? I would be very interested as would some others here I'm sure.
  21. Looking at the translation: You're focusing on the 'covered it' part while I'm looking more on the 'cartridge part'--- there might be advantages to having a sabot set-up with a gold cartridge covering a super-hard metal penetrator-- while your interpretation would mean that 'cartridge' should really be translated as 'core'--which doesn't make sense since bullets usually have a hard metal core and a soft metal shell rather than the other way round-- AP rounds are usually steel or tungsten penetrators covered with lead or copper. DarkReaper is spot on. We need better translations! And of course I would assume that 300m should really be 300mm?
  22. Yea, but silver is a better conductor and obviously superconductors would be even better. Oh well. Gold is not too bad a choice I guess. I actually think a lower density material would be better in this case, since the gold is part of the cartridge i.e. doesn't follow the round downrange, and a lower density material would make it easier to accelerate. Azrael: There was some debate some time back on whether the Super parts still relied on conventional rocket technology, which is why I made my point-- while the main engines do use propellant, they are used far more efficiently as compared to the Super parts, which seem to be nothing more than high powered versions of the rockets that we use today (i.e. nothing to do with fusion, unlike the TRT main engines)
  23. Yes but my point being-- as long as the transformation joint can be jettisoned, none of the damage will affect transformation-- the VF-27's legs clearly contains an important system (an engine) but can still be jettisoned when damaged. The VF-1 example shows it as well. I guess only damage to the torso may possibly hinder transformation.
  24. Amazing! All you need is Monster girl Ranka and you'll be set!
