Posted on that forum! But it may take some time to collect responses. After all, it just released yesterday evening! We may have to wait over the weekend.

I can only say that my 1J is fine with its shoulders. Can't vote for others; probably I can help to raise this question in that HK toy forum.
-
The same problem in HK... When I reserved mine, the price was like US$95 only. But now the street price is US$105 already. Yens are now crazy! Hope that it would go down in December, because there are a lot of stuffs I want to buy then...

I am shy to ask her where the camera is, because I can't tell her I want to take mecha porno pictures! 1. I haven't taken any photos for her for a long time; 2. She still hasn't known my new toy friend yet. And from an ad leaflet, after 1J and Defender (and the re-issue Queadluun-Rau's and the OD Tomahawk!), Hikaru 1S and VF-1D are the next ones lining up. But then, all of a sudden there are too many products coming up in December (plain 1J, Defender, Queadluun-Rau x2, OD Tomahawk, and man, I love re-typing these names!), it is quite doubtful if everything would be on schedule. A comfort is that, there is no Christmas holiday in mainland China. P.S. I found the DC now, but I need some private time to take the porno... We'll see.

My phone's camera is not working... It fails to switch to camera mode altogether... And I don't know where my wife has put the DC. Let me point you to another forum: http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-79300-1-1.html Someone already took some quick shot on it. There's your snow white!

I think we all know this is a matter of personal preference... For which one to buy. So I am answering with my personal preference: the VF-0S. But I am quite sure that you would end up owning both. So it would a matter of getting which one first. AFAIK, VF-0S is difficult to come by these days, and a re-issue is on the way (yeah, we've been hearing this since June). So maybe VF-0S is out the picture at the moment in fact? Or if you have seen one in the local shop with the ghost pack, I'd say buy it right away. It's sought by so many others that you may make a little money by selling it on evil bay.

For those who are waiting for it, it is already released. Nothing special to say about it... Just what you expect from the last VF-1A. One difference may be that, it is whiter than the 1A and 1S. And for those who visited the Yamato web site, the super parts looked as dark as the super & strike parts. You can be assured that it is actually the lighter (aka the right TV color). Hmm... another difference is the box's orientation... The 1A box has the longer sides for the top and bottom, and the 1J box has the shorter sides for those. I know, that does not matter at all, but I wonder why they choose to do that. Now if I want to make a wall out of 1/60 boxes, there would be some difficulty...
-
What are your next targetS? You need to act fast on Yamato toys; if you see it, grap it. Unlike Bandai products, you never know if you would come by it again.
-
Thanks for the sharing. I have to hide the fact from my wife on how much those stacked boxes cost me. That's why I never go toy-hunting with her. And again, yes, once you paid for the 1st, the rest are easy and justificable.
-
Check this: http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=27901 They seem to ship all over the world (except Japan, maybe).
-
I think that box is one of the most desired items for die-hard fans too. That's the only way you get the TV version Super pack (normal color), and it is already out of production. I am waiting for mine to reach me... Should have reached me today! Yikes.
-
I don't remember a YF-16 at all... But in terms of YF models, I think they only released YF-19 and YF-21.
-
Congrats! Welcome to the brotherhood! When I got my first 1/48 toy, I was utterly impressed... And I still think it's a sight to look at. It's a Focker, and it is now watching me typing this message. "Look at me! Look at me! Look at me!"
-
Finally, I bought my Nora version too. Looks great and soild. But somehow I still like my Ivanov better, still it "completes the picture" with both. Just like buying Max 1J without Miria 1J. Nay. With the boxes stacked up the ceiling, I start to worry for the upcoming 1/60 models.

Got my VF-1S (plain w/o SSP) today. A complaint: I got a black dot on the yellow stripe of the chest. I've never had such an incident on for dozen of 1/48 models, so I firmly believed it's just dust when I got the toy. But when I went home, it is verified as black paint/ ink. I tried to scratch it away from finger nails (first thumb of rule: no scratch mark) but to no avail. I thought about using a cutter, but I know my sticky fingers better. It wasn't that conspicuous from over 1 foot or 2, but it is quite readily to be seen when close enough. It is not a big deal (am going to buy a yellow paint and dot it with a tooth-pick someday), but I am not content!

Thanks a lot, you saved the arm of a VF-1S! Your Karma +30

Thanks for the help! But when I clicked on it, it said it's broken or out of date...
-
I am sorry that I tried to look it up but I couldn't figure out which thread it is... Would you please point me to the right direction? Thanks very much!

Very well said... I was only venting as a consumer. I know besides production cost, there are the R&D, transportation, warehouse, returns reserve, legal costs, LICENSE FEE, etc etc. And on top of that, margins for distributors and retailors. It is still expensive, just that not really that much getting into the vault of Yamato I persume. (should check their annual report later) So the right thing to do, is to get everyone you know addicted with Yamato Macross toys. Then we can talk about economic of scale and buy it cheaper.
-
I don't think they are lacking in quality though... but can't argue that the cost certainly wouldn't be close enough to how much we pay. Worht it or not... It really depends. I am thirty-something, so it is like buying back and realizing childhood memory. (the toy market is now selling the adults more than the kids. cuz we are willing to pay a lot on toys for ourselves but not for kids!) I am more lucky that I don't need to pay shipping (most of the times). "Used to pay shipping" is also something that caused the things so expensive. When you are used to paying shipping, you would buy like crazy in a local shop because "you don't need to pay shopping this time". Although I buy most of my stuffs in local shops, I ordered a few items through the web, so I know the mentality!
-
Not really agree with this one... I have both and I know 1/60 has its "ugly" shots too.
-
I have to say that this is one of the best pictures I've seen for a 1/60 v2, and one of the not-so-good pictures for the 1/48... P.S. I have a 1/60 v2 VF-1A, and waiting for my 1S this December.
-
Once you are used to pay for a dozen of 1/48 valkyries, the 1/60 destroid are not that bad thereafter. Before I started collecting 1/48 VF-1's, I can't imagine myself paying that much for a destroid. Now I don't blink to pay. And I don't have any hesitation to pay for all 4! Just hesitating if I should get the alt colors. I don't feel like buying toys, they are all collectors' item. So, I am part of the reason why the stuffs are selling this expensive.
-
I am more concerned on space concern than money... As it is a new series, the costs would be amortized over the future... I would get all the destroid models alright. The issue is only I would get 1 color or 2 colors (forget the weathering). It would be a nicer sight with 8 destroids standing together, instead of just 4... 4 boxes of such size... That is around 2 big 1/48 boxes... I think I can live with that? Or not. I'll have to make space for the new 1J, 1D, 1As, Queadluun-Rau x2, RegaultS (!), ... I know people who who already has a squad of 3 original Tomahawks... But I don't think I can attain to that level yet!
