May I ask if the painting would be affected? I saw the pics, but as they were old toys, I am unsure if the chipping is owing to H2O2 or old damage.

I deserved to be flamed. Who am I to wish against so many others? And I want it quite badly too! I used to like the Focker 1S more, but from the Yamato photos, the red 1S seems to be more appealing... The color really changes a lot of the perception. For the 1/48 series, I have the three 1S: yellow, red and blue. For some reason, the observed chunkiness is as follows: yellow -> red > blue. But of course, mighty Yamato has used the same mold, it's the color that makes me feel the blue is the chunkiest of them all. So I wonder if this time, the red color has made the sleek 1/60 model a "boarder chest" feel. I should have experiemented with my Hikaru 1A and Focker 1S to switch the heads...

I hope it would be delayed in fact! (no flames please) There are too many things to buy in December! I prefer to collect one piece at a time to "prolong the pleasure". Two in a month would be great; you have 2 weeks to get a bit bored (just relatively) and then get a new one. Now that's a perfect world. If everything comes out as scheduled in December, I would have 7 units to pay for! I cannot choose to "wait till later" as Macross toys are not abundant (shop-wise); if you don't pick it up in the 1st month when it's released, you have to wait for the re-issue that may take months or years or forever. Of course items can still be found on the web, but the price is much higher (yen exchange rate is like 30% lower in the local shops), and there is the shipping (which makes up 30% of the total cost too). I'd better buy it right away.

This looks like a magazine ad, or a leaflet you would see posted outside a toy shop.
-
I suggest you to look at some photos of both lines of products before making the decision. Personally, I am a big fans of Yamato, because their products are general beautiful - they are expensive, but you get what you pay for. I just feel satisfied to look at them. But again, if you are a nostalgic person, you may find the Bandai models appealing. You are free to make the call for whichever you like more!

Just for more information; the shop owner, from whom I used to buy my Yamato toys, told me that Defender would probably be issued before X'mas, and M&M Queadlunn Ruas after Christmas. As yet, for the other "December releases", such as VF-0S, Tomahawk OD, Hikaru VF-1S, there's no news yet. He cannot place orders on these as of yet because the price aren't known. So I doubt if the Hikaru 1S can be issued within 08. We'll see.

Very nice! I still do not have space for display myself. How many of them are new members from your latest trip?
-
Did they care to justify why the latter models (YF-19, VF-17, VF-25, etc) get bigger again? In the story, of course.
-
You are right! They said that the pilot for the tomahawk was kind of small because of the smaller cockpit space, and they revised it this time. While this is not a big deal, I still think they made a brand new series looking bad (not that seriously... but I expect a lot from Yamato engrs). I expect consistency across the Destroids!

I can read Japanese only very barely... From what I can read, I cannot figure out which color they finalized. My guess is that it's neither of the three on page 2 (I incline to guess it's the color shown in page 1 they adopted for production). The three colors here only demonstrated that they put a lot of effort in determining the "right color". Just my guess!!!

I get the point of releasing Focker 1S and Hikaru 1S (obviously). However, if they care to release Angelbird (I know there are people who like the AB - but honestly, see what price these birds are being sold at and we know how popular they are), why not Max 1S? I am also waiting for the TV version of Max 1A and Kakizaki 1A (will they release this one too in 1/48? I really wish so). I want my Skull and Vermilion squads! P.S. I already got an extra 1S (at a good deal) to make my Max 1S.
-
I am also wondering; if there is a Max VF-1S ever released? From whichever manufacturer. The Max VF-1S actually had a longer sequence than the Max 1A and the Kakizaki 1A, or VE-1 in DYRL. I don't even remember seeing a CF 1A in the movie. But all of the latters got their products. Why?!

Sometimes I think it's a matter if it's for "playing" or "displaying". If you transform a lot and pose a lot (a.k.a. play a lot), get the 1/60 VF-1. If you use it for display mainly, I would recommend the VF-0. It looks much better as a bigger, apparant-detailed collector's toy. By apparant-detailed I mean, the engravings are there for both models, but they are thinner and less noticable on the 1/60 VF-1. I suppose as the size is smaller, you don't have the same thickness for the engravings do you? In consideration of mecha: VF-1S is the symbol of Macross universe (ok! I am talking about the mecha side). Enuf said. BTW, I like to put my 1/60 VF-0 and 1/48 VF-1 together and pretend they are of the same scale. I actually like it better that way and it feels so natural.

I asked: "Should I buy VF 11B?" M8: "Absolutely." "Should I trust you?" "My sources say no." -
Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development

Ar... That's 18,800 yen... Not a bad price either, but not really good. I'll pass, I am not gonna start a new battleline with Macross Plus! -
I agree... I am totally comfortable with my 1/48s; but I have some concerns when dealing my 1/60s (including VF-0A). The 1/60 v2 is too tight to my taste in many places. I hate it when forces (any) are required... Maybe when the mold is used over and over again (like the 1/48s), things will get "smoother"? I have the plate thing (which covers the verniers of the backpack) come off when I transformed. It's pretty difficult to describe (excuse my poor English); in short it is because some joints are simply too tight. I have my 1/60s in the boxes and wait till the day I have time to take pictures for them (like the whole Skull team is released), or have space to display them. I do not enjoy transforming them at all!

Supposingly Dec 2: http://www.yamato-toys.com/items/detail.php?gid=1213 By the way, the plain VF-1S Hikaru is coming out in Jan. But I am getting the SSP version most probably.

My current doesn't give me anything like this. Would it help if I make her an ex?
-
She looks sweet... She is the first figure I've bought, excluding action figures (Star Wars, or Max and Miria figures for the Queadluun-Raus). I doubt if I would buy any figures (besides new, good quality Minmays) though in future. Not so many would awaken my memories on ancient culture.

I don't consider myself a completionist by getting the 0S, the two 1S', Defender and the M&Ms... But for Tomahawk OD, yes... I try not to be a completionist in the 1/60 v2 line. The 1/60 models still haven't grown on me yet, unlike the 1/48 series (I must admit I am a completionist in 1/48... actually completed it). The major reason for me to get into the 1/60 v2 series, is the non-valkyries. BTW, I didn't get the weathering Tomahawk, and don't feel the urge to. I am so proud of myself! Probably without the need to pay shipping and full exchange rate, it's much cheaper to buy in where I live. So I need fewer jobs to pay for these relics than many others in the brotherhood. Still, this would be a bloody December for me. A memory for years to come.
-
On top of these 3, I am also getting the Defender, the M&M Queadluun-Rau, and most probably the Tomahawk OD. So that's 7 units for me!

From what I've told by the shop I reserved mine, the VF-1D would be released in February.
