Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.4
ff95gj replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I have 2 exams tomorrow... So I can only go this far... The green in the breast and shield and the wings and the hip armor is different from the other parts! Yikes! Just to show if the legs are high enough. Are they? The belly. With the... rudder thing. The super parts. Nice. The radome is here I am sorry that I force myself not to transform it and pose it. I should be studying, not playing or net-surfing! Me bad. -

My VF-25G's breastplate and the left leg armor just keep falling off too. The right side is good though. -

I don't agree that if I regard that the seller is doing business talk, then I am dealing with my inner demons. I am surprised that people trust an interview so much and say "see, he said it's already the best thing they can do". I don't mean Bandai intentionally makes something bad to sell. I just think they do not keep a high standard to perform to their capability. The capability we see in their other products, or the quality level from similar products. And the DX Luca is released already; it's sitting in my living room. -

Some not-very-updated news: The VF-25F Armor Parts was scheduled for ordering from the web on March 25, but now it is delayed to TBA. -

I reckon that is some mold release agent? Not a big problem for the toy, but when I open the toy and saw the fingerprints, I was thinking if it is 2nd hand repacked. I think we deserve a clean toy for this price point... -

Liar is too strong a word. I'd use the word "PR". If I were him, I would say the same thing. It's the right thing to say. But obviously things don't turn out right then. I maintain my view that Bandai doesn't care enough. No offense to you, but I think I am entitled to my own view... If we believe everything in a magazine article... We'll all be screwed. -

Hmm... Personally, I take that as a PR article. What do you expect Kawamori to say otherwise? "We don't care enough, and it'll sell anyways. So here you go!" Judging from other toys in the same company, and similar toys from other companies, I don't think we need to sacrifice THAT much for durability and playability. I know the above has been repeated for a million times in this thread, but if it's asked, I can answer it again I suppose. P.S. Anyone feels "greasy" when they first open the DX? And fingerprints all around? It only happened on my lower-end GFFs, not on GFFMC, not on Yamatos. -

Yeah, I know. But the point is, someone else in the same company managed to pull out a good job. Why can't the DX division? Let's not look at the Yamatos this time. Look at the GFFMC Psycho Gundam (which is in the same price range, transformable, and somewhat bigger). Bandai has the resources and the technologies; but they don't care, and that's the problem. -
I think while some versions may be a bit floppier than others; I think it's more important to get the one that you like the best. The CF... is a CF. Someone just like CFs (so real!). The Nora is a cocky graceful bird in purple red and golden markings. Someone thinks it looks like a clown though. The Ivanov is a big crow, waiting to strike from behind. Someone thinks it's just boring. Just pick one that you like the most!

I won't swear by the Macross Chronicles! But let's look at what Yamato says in the description... コクピット前席用 一条輝フィギュア、コクピット後席用 簡易宇宙服フィギュア Front seat Hikaru figure... Yeah I know... Back seat... Basic Space Suit figure... So whoever you think it is, you are not wrong!

Yamato gets their share of condemnation for those problems... There are dedicated threads for the problems, not just complaints in a discussion thread. And then, yes, because it is Bandai, we expect more from them. It would not be the same if it is, say, CMS. And also Bandai made the great looking models, which shows that the mecha design is totally feasible. I can only say that they don't care enough to do better, and so I am so disappointed. -

Ah, that's what's wrong when I saw the Quarter. Me too; I prefer the old SDF to fire through the shoulders. -

I'll get the model kits too. Two bad things with the model kits, is that I dare not to transform them, and that you can't wear the super parts at will. Those are the major reasons I get the DX... I don't blame the models, just that the DX has values in this way. And yes, how I wish the thickness of the 1/48 Yamato boxes can be reduced by half! -

The DX is a toy without the super parts. You can play with it, and it feels sturdy. With the super parts... I don't know what it is. If you try to pose it, some parts are falling off for sure. An expensive, not-appealing-enough display piece? Me too I heard a lot from MWers that how this toy looks better in real life than in pics and how fun it is to play with... and I thought I would change my view when I can get my hands on it... But my view hasn't change much as of yet. I must confess that I still plan to collect the whole Skull squad... I do it out of love for the VF-25s, but not for the DX. -

Once I wondered if they would include a Misa or Minmay for VT-1. So it's Minmay again!

It looks better than the DX VF-25s. I am unsure if I am getting it; it looks good, but I am running out of space (have been for months). -

Please correct me if I am wrong; I can read only 30-40% out of Japanese. It says something like as currently there are some parts in the backplate for attaching the shield (fighter mode I believe), these parts stand in the way so the backplate cannot cover the canopy well enough. Anyone with a DX on hand, please check if this is the case... -

I am sorry to hear this too... Don't worry about the toys, they will get re-issued some time later. And some of them don't worth your time/ attention at all (better versions may come out when things get around). It's always more important to tend to your kids, no matter what. Hope you get a good job soon.

Of course we'll never learn the truth on what someone actually thinks... I don't think that is only Japanese culture? I think that's global PR practice... I should get back to topic. A local shop told me that RVF-25 would be there tomorrow (as expected). I am wondering if the RVF-25 would be sold as well as the 25G? Personally the RVF-25 is less appealing to me...
