This is quite ridiculous... The 1/100 rifle is even longer than the 1/72 one. Although the pic is shaky, it can be seen that the light gray one (VF100) is longer than the dark gray one (1/72 model kit).

Finally have the time to fix the new pics! (Funny, if I opened the HLJ pages and then open this page, it would show the pics... Nonetheless, it's on photobucket now)

Thanks for the pics! However, I do not recognize the battroid. Somehow it just does not look familiar to me at all. The fighter mode and gerwalk mode look okay. I don't know if I would be getting this one. It does not look as posable as the plain 25F. That's where the fun is. Posability.

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.5
ff95gj replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
These are pre-assembed and painted toy accessories (accessories for toys! This is such a luxury). No worries. -
I am a hopeless fool. I'll keep buying more for sure.
-
I very much agree that the box size should be skimmed down. For instance, the Bandai DX MF toys, their boxes are intact enough that if I throw away the boxes and have to pack up the valk and the parts, I won't save much space or even worse off. Nonetheless... I was referring to the boxart only in this thread...

The newer ones: The old ones:

Most toys are made in China nowadays, the good ones and the bad ones. The problem lies in the QC of the particular factory - and particularly the Bandai personnel who look over the manufacturing - but not just in "China" factory. I may be a bit sensitive on this (yes I am a Chinese); but it doesn't feel right when the DX scale doesn't look good, it's because it's out-sourced to a Chinese design team; the production quality of VF100 is bad, because it's made by a Chinese factory. In terms of business, it's Bandai's responsibility to ensure things are right. If those people/ factories are not up to the job, why still hire them? Either Bandai doesn't do its job in QC, or they can pay much less (and more profit margin). I won't argue if it's maufactured in Japan, the quality would be superior overally - but we know that won't happen. Not until we are willing to pay double (or more) for 10% of improvement (or less for already well-QC products). China is behind in terms of technology... But making toys? They make millions a year I suppose. I don't believe if you pay the right amount but can't get SoC qality. (and I think we end-users are paying SoC money for the VF100 and DX!) As plastic models do not involve labours to assemble, that is a different story.

I consider myself some kind of Macross toy geek. I know which model would come out by when, etc. But today, when I walked into the shop to pick up my Kakizaki DYRL 1A, I had trouble in spotting it out. It is buried among the boxes of Max 1S, Max 1A(TV), Max 1A(Movie) and Kakizaki (TV) and I need to read the text on the box to confirm if I am looking at the right model. Back in the old days of 1/48, or even for the VF-0/SV-51/YF series, I can find what I want right away from the box cover. Is it only me or people have the same problem as I do? Moreover, I like the old boxarts (most of them) better. The classy black Focker box; the flaming red 1S; the azure sky for Hikaru 1J; the stary space of M&M... The striped color cover of the VF-0/SV/YF look premium to me too. The new Yamato boxes look generic mecha product package to me...

We have a winner here; now that trance is perfect!

The exhibited model didn't thrill me, but now all the gimmicks have got my interests. And the price is ok too... Sold.

Bandai has become Microsoft of the toy industry... From now on, we will learn how to accept sloppy products and get accustomed to it. "There's this problem here - but hey, it has happened on this one and that one before. Why the fuss? " An example that I regard to be unacceptable, but people told me "it's been done before", is that the DX is oily with fingerprints all over when it's mint out of the box. Some new "standards" I can think of is, different shades of blue/green on VF-25G and RVF-25. And hey, they already delivered "service patch" for the DX VF-25S super parts.

Max VF-1S June 14800 yen Clear Super Parts covers July 1429 yen Defender KG July 12000yen
-
I wish to talk about the clear Super Parts, so I think it goes under the non-canon color thread? It would be released in July, 1500 yen. Too expensive for several clear plastic covers... Depends on the actual price, I'll see if I get one for... say, peace of mind.

I am sorry to hear that, Regult. It sucks to have bought a new toy and found something wrong with it. But then I am wondering too. Given Bandai's latest product quality, it is not entirely impossible that the gun is meant to be just glued (uglily) together. Anyone else with a 25G would like to share?

The CF 1J would be in June, and the CF 1A would be in August.

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.5

The super pack comes with the stand. As you must have noticed, the stand is in the super part tray. Armor part... Not sure, but very possibily so. -
I am waiting for the price to drop thru HK$270... Saw the 25F and 25S at HK$198 in Richmond. Ouch!
-
Think I've heard somewhere on MW that the RVF was announced. Me too, I need a squad.
-
The white ones are nice... But, say... If there were the white version and the color version available from day one, both of which are regular release, I would still choose the color version. The white ones look better in pics than in person. Again, just MHO.
-
Personally... I have 3 and I love Sheryl the best. While I like Klan Klan a lot in the anime, her macronized (Banpresto) and micronized (Megahouse) failed to capture her character IMHO.
-
The major complaint I have on the YF-19 is the floppiness. It barely holds its own arm, and I am not talking about the shield or the gun. Otherwise, I like how it currently looks. Yamato claims that the new BoP and Double Nuts would have better joints, and I trust them enough to bet my US$158 on the BoP.
-
You are not alone! I am still keeping them intact... I'll most probably keep it that way till all issues are out, and I'll think again what I will do.
-
It's not in the package contents desc... So there'sn't one... as expected.

I believe the casual customers do not have a radar anyways... A theory can also say that once a casual customer starts collecting the hero valks, they can be turned into a "collector" more easily. Seriously, it is easier to justify a purchase once you start. The first time I thought "nay, too expensive"; once I got a cheap deal on a 1S and 1J, I began to collect... Weak-minded fool!
