Heh. I still don't like Basara after your kind guidances on how to appreciate Basara. Thanks guys. The songs are decent (anything near Minmay or Sheryl and Ranka? Big NO for me), but I would like them better if it's not from someone like Basara. I know there are sci-fic animes with mechs with mouths. I grew up with those. So someone is telling me Macross is going in that direction? That's why I hate it in the first place. "Mechs with mouths" anime are good, but different from what a Macross should be. No wonder some people think guitar control is good, if they are regarding Macross as those Super Robot animes.

I wonder if anyone is still doing these decals? I know some people on this board made something brilliant years before, but I was too late to join MWF.

Heh, I actually think the LV1 of plain grey is boring too. I don't care too much of realisticity when it is boring. (Destroids, IMHO, is kind of realistic and not boring) But I like the weatheriing part. I forgot to mention that there would be 4 posing hands. So I think this is the "TV" version? That fits the IF story because this 1S has the color of Focker's pilot suit in TV.

From official site (my bad translation): Macross "If" - This is the experimental valk when Focker switched from VF-0S to VF-1S. Instead of the normal low vis color of grey it is blue grey. As it is designated for Focker, it is decorated with his trademark color of yellow. The kit will use the enhanced crotch joint from 1/48. It will also come with a Focker figure.

The GNU 1J and Max 1A are coming by the end of this month... So I am digging up this thread. I thought hard whether to buy the Revy valks... And I still haven't got any. I know how posable those little guys are; but the painting (of VF-1) are horrible to me. It looks like my own paintwork. (BTW, the Revy Regults are great and I got three. I can't believe they are from the same line - the toy looks clean and painted very nice) I may still get one if the price is right; my budget is around US$12. I f not, I'll pass and save my bucks for the GNU. Probably. GNU looks clean and much better on its look. However, it's insanely expensive in the MSRP. If you buy two and a half GNU 1J, you can already get a 1/60 v2 VF-1J. Which is much bigger and transformable with great posability. I expect the street price would be much much lower than the MSRP... Otherwise it won't sell. The VF100, in the same price range, is at least a part-former. Still the VF100 price has dropped from US$45 to US$25 already (here in Hong Kong).

IMHO... There are 2 aspects to this question "Building a better Basara?" #1 building a character upon Basara #2 building a character better than Basara I see no point to do #1, and I see no difficulties to do #2. Sorry, I just don't buy Basara. Flying amidst a battle to sing? This alone may cause other pilots to die because they don't want to friend-fire on you and then get killed themselves. Or while defending him. He has no respect for anyone, there is only his desire to sing. He is not evil, but "singing" is above all. Some said it's his dedication to music, but I see a selfish jerk. Sorry again. Can't help to kick dirt (again) at someone piloting with a guitar on a valk with a mouth within the Macross universe.

I really hope that the MGs would be released. I won't mind to pay for yet another round of magazine-exclusive for a 1/48 version! Does Yamato have the license for these? If so, they should release both the 1/48 (magazine-exclusive maybe, because with the 1/60 v2 they may not sell as well) and 1/60. Just like the Max and Kakizaki 1As, they have the things issued in a relatively close time frame. Milk the mold! P.S. MJ is still my King of Pop.

I have no complaints about the Q-Rau script too. I think they look great as a 5(?)-year old product, and up to a modern standard. The articulation is not that satisfactory; but given the mech design, I won't say it's a failure either. I don't think a Regult would be cheaper than a destroid; it should be somewhat bigger in size...? It's not smaller than one anyhow.

The craftmanship is overally good, but the face doesn't look like the anime Ranka to me.

The YF-19 type 3 and 4 are delayed from June to July.

Isn't it a bit early to issue an archive for MF? While the TV series is over, there is the movie coming... And even if we assume there would be nothing new in the movie, the TV series model kits are still far from complete. The VF-27 and Q-Raus are not out yet, and so is the 1/48 VF-25. And the Vajras. VF-171 too maybe?

Reason number 1: Yamato owes us. If that isn't enough, here are more reasons: - It fits the "milk the mold" policy. We have the Regult, Regult small missile launcher, Regult large missile launcher, Regult scout, and Regult DYRL. And a weathering version for each of them. That's 10! - After buying so many valks, a lot of people are itching to find some bad guys for the valks to shoot at. It gets boring after many "let's get the best armament and take off to fight some bad guys" photos, and the story pauses there. - A lot of crazy guys will get multiple of them. Given that it is a niche market that you don't get many new customers, it's important that the old ones buy more. - It rocks. - PLEASSSSSEEEE?

I think I read that besides the head, the S-type is better all across in terms of parts. And yes, that should mean more expensive. And better let some pilots die than buying them a better valk.
