Gashapon? Should be yes... Ex Gear (without the armor, of course)? Probably not...
-
It is tiny... Even smaller than a VF100. It doesn't come with the stand... The joints are good. I'll post a comparison later tonight.
-
Cheap. Around 1500 yen!

Just want to clarify that the armored bundled set does not come with the smoke effect. Only the web exclusive armored part package has it.

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.6

It sucks! Frankly speaking, I am not impressed by how the tornado pack design in the first place. The toy isn't really bad, given the original look of it. Let's hope it's not web exclusive though. And the VF-27 does look good. The bigger head and higher shoulders make it look so much better than the 25's, even though it's still chunky and with a wrong hip. -
For argument sake, Hikaru piloted 4 valks too: VF-1D VF-1J (CF) VF-1J VF-1S And 2 non-valks: Fan Racer Spartan And because TV and DYRL are parallel, I cannot add in VF-1A (H), VT-1 and VF-1S (H) onto the list (darn!). But then you missed out VF-17S. So Gamlin wins for valk-only competition!
-
VF-11C must be the cheapest valk in the M universe. In every episode you see a dozen of them explode.

Suddenly I remember in an expo Yamato displayed some cute girl decals. So they have been planning it all along! Right, Graham? But personally I would prefer the canon character decals. Give me the decals of Minmay, Misa, Claudia, bridge bunnies, I'll buy all those decals and canvas valks to put them on. I don't know why when I think about new decals, it's all about girls but not just patterns and colors. The Minmay Guard and Macross Frontier model decals have educated me well.
-
Me too! I don't know. Should I stock up in case when people come up with good decals, I have a canvas valk to put them on?

As I guessed before, only the gray fan racer is online exclusive: http://www.yamato-toys.com/ec/items/select...p;infolnk=index

Unsatisfied with the VF-25s I was, but the VF-27 looks good: -
Let me borrow a pic from a friend: Personally I don't feel her legs are chopped off like Minmay's.

He was a decent guy, who stood up to his own ideals and defended the weak. I hope he rests in peace - oh wait, he isn't dead is he? He would be a meh guy in other Macross; but in M7, he is one of the few guys who don't look awful to me (besides Max) and thinks straight. Someone trying to sing away a mountain and you call that "spirited?" Blah.

I didn't mean the CMS products are better... Quite on the contrary, they are so notoriously bad so if they can make something like the DX, I would cheer for them. And yes, when it's from Bandai, I expect the Chogokin quality. If it doesn't, I curse. -
This time, a valkyrie is no match for a gundam.

My personal frustration definitely comes from that it "could have been much better" part. As I'd said before, I would have cheered if this was made and delivered by CMS. If Bandai would release a v2 which addresses the issues, I would happily curse them and buy the whole SMS squad all over. -
I'll buy all of them. In different outfits too.

I basically agree with you; I want to add again I think the DX is a decent toy - if we don'y compare it to anything else. However, when taking into account with Bandai's own MF model kits (to prove that the mech design is feasible), Chogokin series (to prove that Bandai is capable), and Yamato's works since the 1/48 series (for many Macross fans they have demonstrated a new standard), there was so much potential in a great series but now Bandai only delivers the standard (and even medicore) stuffs. -

Personally I am a guy who has a priority on the look than how it plays. Really, how often I am to transform it or change its pose? I still think the DX VF-25's look ugly... Paint chip, joints get loosen real quick. It's not THAT bad; but I can't recommend it to anyone. If I can choose again... I would skip the DX and get the Roboté‚ series only. The Armored parts attach on better; but the Super parts pop off easily. -
I must say that given the price, it's a value deal - but there are times that I prefer to pay more for quality, and this is one of those moments. I know I am not their target customers... I would still probably get a 1S just to get a real taste out of it.
-
I believe that would happen, when newer technologies appear, but not in 3 to 5 years. The old 1/48 line had a life cycle of around 3 years right?
-
Today is Oct 31, and Yamato cleared VF-1S LV, VE-1, VF-1D VR, M&M VF-1J off the list. 5 down in one month! Now I believe that things would be on schedule, roughly and technically (Nov 30, Dec 31, etc).

The head lasers are tight, just that I like to angle it that way. Millia is just another pilot painted red... No new mold.
