The box is unnecessarily big. Darn. It's the same size as the VF-1J bundle. The flying missiles are on another tray, which is much thicker than it needs to be.

I am so sorry that I remembered it wrongly... You are right that it sticks up in gerwalk mode, and only hides in fighter mode. Sorry for the confusion!!!
-
I am not sure about the retooling... It may be the design of VF-27 (bigger head, broader shoulders, longer legs) that makes the overall impression better.
-
No, you remove the part in fighter/ gerwalk mode. And for the tiny prongs I know what Alex is talking about. I needed to remove the shoulders to properly transform it back into fighter mode (story skipped). It is not too loose on my VF-19.
-
I very much agree. The fighter mode is nice, but the other 2 modes... *sigh* I wished I'd never picked up the DX VF-25's. Quite on the contrary, the Macross Quarter is great and the VF-27 looks very promising.

The central fin part is more than a fin... it's like a helm. I don't think it would fit into the compartment...

Get the model kit or the Robot-Damashii. The former is beautiful in all modes and ready for plain assembly; the latter is fun to pose and the best looking one among the toys (still lose to the model kits). But if you want to transform a VF like there is no tomorrow and don't care much about aesthetic... Get the 1/60 DX. That's the only transformable toy out there.

I think this is not about the shoulder plates? The head has to be hidden in the "backplate" of the jet (the YF-19 has its cannon struck out and no side antennae and thus easier), but the fins are impossible to fit.

I would say the problem is in the toy, but in the mech design. The VF-25 armor has captured the armored essence pretty well IMHO.

Anyone has idea on whether they are going to release a VF-25S? I want it very badly. I want Luca too for the Skull squad, but I need the 25S worse.

Darn! So the fists are web exclusive! Bandai is so dirty.
-
Been told that it is not stocked in large quantities.

I am a sucker for M&Ms. But not this time.

Why isn't there an option to buy them all? Don't be limited by the given options...

The chest locks!! (the main complaint I have for the Yammies) The QC has no problem (to me). It has different shades of red. The metals are in the feet. 2 open hands (the style as show in the pic, left and right) and 1 gun holding right hand. The joints are not floppy like the VF100. The transformation is nice and easy. The cockpit is easy to slide.

Got my VF-19 Kai. - Where are the metals? - I won't say it's perfect transformation. it's not like VF100, but you need to remove parts from time to time. - You don't even got fists. You can two open hands, and one for holding the gun. - Where are the metals? Come on, it's more expensive than a VF100 because it's now Hi Metal! Now I get the same amount of metal from a SHF? I think overall the toy is nice but I feel cheated because they sell it as "Hi-Metal" and priced as such.

Those are Revoltech joints

Would You Buy An Unpainted Yamato 1/48 VF-1 In Kit Form?
ff95gj replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
While generally I would like things in the scale, 1/48 VF-1 is an exception to me because VF-1 are small by design. I love to put my 1/48 VF-1S and 1/60 VF-0S together. It just doesn't have the "brotherhood" feeling for the 1/60 VF-1S and VF-0S. -
Any pics? I have 6 destroids and experienced no problems (except loose waist joints maybe).
-
The fighter mode holds. It's so loose that it can't pose well without a stand. Mine's sort of okay, but I've heard that some people got right arms that doesn't hold the gun.

The face script is much better than I've seen from the previous pictures. I love the figure more than I'd thought I would. I think some cast off pictures would be too erotic, so I haven't uploaded them here. If it is okay as long as we don't show nipples, I've a bunch of naughty shots to share.

Macross Quarter has redeemed the DX line (so to speak); let's see the Fire Valk would do the same to VF100 line. So far I think it looks good!
