    Limited Exclusives

In defense of the devils, web-exclusive is not a sign of greed (for the most part) for them. It's more for lowering risks. In Japan, the web exclusive items are generally of the same price as the MSRP as the regular counterparts. Although we know that the devils got a bigger share of the profit in this case, I suppose the traditional retail channel should yield more overall for "hotcake items". Otherwise the retail channel should have died by now. My point is, web exclusive is not designated to make you pay more. These days you have dozens of new toys from Bandai alone every month, it becomes very difficult to pile up stocks for toys. It is difficult for small toy shops to manage, and when they can't survive, it is turn bad business to the large toy companies. And also, obviously for certain niche items, it's better to make to orders to avoid overproduction. As someone not living in Japan, I suffer from web exclusivity too. However, I also admit this is a solution to the mentioned problems. Exception: when certain items are considerably overpriced, or should have been included in the first place. e.g. The DX Folder set (overpriced); the upcoming missiles for armored parts (should have been included); the Fire valk fists and landing gears (both), etc. On the other hand, I can accept the speakers set. The SDF and Regult resin kit is another story. They are resin kits, not toys....
  2. It is understandable to do exclusives for items that have no guaranteed sales. The VF-X, the Angelbird, the 1/60 Regult. The Regult sells for 40000yen not because it's a small production run, but more that it's resin kit. I hate Bandai for selling the Fire Valk fists in a separate set, and sometimes Bandai put should-be-regular-items onto the web exclusive list. But I appreciate Yamato trying to bring on every model in the original show.
  3. Last night I dreamt about a Yamato VF-25S. Just stating a fact!
  4. That's why it's a made-to-order exclusive...
  5. The MF site desc says special parts are made to make it non-transformable. (ironic to pay extra to pay it less functional!)
  6. Thanks! There aren't enough photos for Macross...
  7. If it is pre-painted, I may bite the bullet. I suppose not...
  8. If something is in a public show (is that a public show or industrial show?), why we can take no pictures of it? I hate it that we need to guess by looking at part of an arm.
  9. I got my Q-Raus at full price! I don't agree that Q-Raus are Princesses Leia. Q-Raus are more menacing; and Millia is a match for our hero Max. A badass ace. There are only 2 enemy pilots with a name, and Millia is one of them.
  10. Half in dimension... Should yield in 1/8 in volume... So I guess 1/8 of the price.
  11. Interesting that it only states it's a replica of the 1/2000 model... But not it's own scale.. It's around half in height.. So it's a 1/4000 I reckon? Is it about the same size as the DX MQ?
  12. I thought about it, trying to figure out how cheap it has to be for me to get them (I own an 1S already). My own answer is under US$3...
  13. Huh? Is that my adrenalin pumping I hear?
  14. Thanks! I couldn't relate VF-X with Macross Frontier so I didn't think about that... And I feel sad to see Macross Chronicle ends... When the 2nd part of MF movie hasn't been released yet. So it has been 2 years already...?
  15. A dumb question.. What is the MF blog?
  16. Still, how many chunky models do we get? The point is, they don't bother to really milk the mold like Yamato does. Several models, maybe. There would be many models never see the day.
  17. Because it is Bandai, and it is not Gundam? Although they can milk the mold, they may or may not bother to. They have enough things on their license list to make, than thinking about what molds to milk. (I still want a VF100 RVF-25) I believe one may get a 1S, CF1A and maybe an 1D in the HM series. Even the M&M 1Js. But the DYRL 1As? Max and Kakizaki TV 1As? I seriously doubt it. But then there goes my Skull and Vermillion squads. Max 1S? Angelbird? Virgin Road? CF 1J? Not very likely too. Quite on the other hand, I am expecting the VE-1 and VT-1 on the list though. I think they were shown in a poster for the VF100? The HM would be nice to have (thus far from the pics), but the Yamato 1/60 line owns it all (literally).
  18. I regret for the DX VF-25 line (didn't get the VF-25F Movie Bundle though). But given that it's the only way you can get the whole Skull squad, probably if I can choose again, I would do it wrong again. About YF-19... I never really liked the valk from the OVA (the color). I love the Double Nuts and Bird of Prey much better.
  19. Personally, the Yamato 1/60 is for Macross collection. I am pretty sure Bandai is not going to release every valk in the show. While Yamato is milking the mold like crazy, in a sense they are helping Macross fans to realize the "owning every damn valk in the damn show" dream. Bandai, with its vast choice of licenses to release toys, I doubt if certain models would ever materialize. We still hear nothing about a Robot Spirit RVF-25 (and let's forget the VF100 one). Given how small the HM VF-19Kai is, the VF-1J would be even smaller. It would be a nice addition to the collection of valks, but not replacing it.

    Bandai SD Infinite

That ("perfectly") is from another magazine, not from the pics in this post.
  21. Hi, OD has ceased their replacement service right? Are there any other channels we may ask for replacements? Thanks!
  22. Owing to my small home setting, the hard boards save me trouble in putting up a background paper in photo shooting. It adds to the value worth to me. $50 for 2 cardboards is pretty expensive really.

  24. Thanks! That's a cardboard background made by a local company. Made for taking toy photos.
  25. I don't remember if I posted these before... Well...
