  1. I'm living in HK, and I just saw them in a local shop today. I've heard that they are on sale in Japan, and that's why we get the low price. No DYRL Roy though!
  2. The Hikaru 1S and 1A are on sale at US$62 in where I live... Difficult to expect a re-issue I guess.
  3. Thanks Graham! I can stop dreaming about the Minmay Guards... NOT! I would still dream about them I'm sure. I am sad to learn that a Spartan would not see the day. It's my most favorite Destroid. Anyhow, I really want my Phalanx. Last time the Zentradi suit (for Max 1A) is stated to be released within 2010. Is that still the case? Do we still get Britai? Bandai-wise, I still expect the Robot Spirit VF-25S and Klan 25S. They already have the mold for one thing, and they may be waiting for the second MF movie to release them. My feeling is that it doesn't take as much consideration for Bandai to release a Robot Spirit model. For the Klan 25S, I am expecting a Tamashii shop item. Also, Bandai has too many license on hand. It took years for a Kamen Rider SIC to finish all main characters (e.g. Take Agito: the first SIC Agito was released in 2003, G3 and G4 in 2007, revised Agito in 2008, and Gills is still being designed), and we may continue to pray. Oh I know, Macross is no Kamen Rider. Kamen Rider seems to keep running forever (for the past 10 years at least) to retain the public interest. But year 2012 would help I hope? P.S. I still have 2 blank 1S, I hope someone would create the 1/60 Minmay Guard decals someday.
  4. I just wish to discuss what valks (or non valks) we may see in the near future, now that the VF-1 line is pretty drained. We even have the VF-X! - Will we see the Dark Bird or HQ Guard? - May I ask whether Yamato has the license to issue the Minmay Guards? - Is Yamato going to issue Phalanx? (fingers crossed) - Is the Robot Spirit VF-25S cancelled? - I believe we would see a DX Klan VF-25S...?
  5. It's perfectly fine for you to like it, no offense. Just my personal opinions: - Chunky chunky chunky. - The joints (especially the leg joints and the crouch) get floppy real fast (I have 4 VF-25's BTW). - You get different shades of colors on the valk. Espeically on my Luca RVF-25. You can see different shades of green easily. - Neck problem. If they ever have one! - Super parts and Armor parts seem to be aftersight to me. - Not very poseable in Gerwalk mode. One can do better if he tweaks about (not locking in the designed positions), but it was a bad design. - Not very poseable in Battroid mode, especially after you put on the Super parts. The leg armors hinder the knee joint movement. - There are also minor (to me) issues such as bad landing gear, terrible pilot figure, gunpod requiring an attacher, etc. - Chunky chunky chunky. I actually think it is okay in fighter mode. As a side note, the Yammies are quite sturdy according to experience. Besides some design flaws (exploding shoulders), of course. My 1/60 VF-1S dropped from 5 feet onto the ground (twice) and not even the head laser suffered any damage. I actually rank the mech design of VF-25 up there right after VF-1 in my personal preference.
  6. I know I am one of the minorities who doesn't like the DX VF-27 enough. While the DX VF-27 is a major improvement over the VF-25, it is still not up to my expectation to Bandai products (MF models, other toy lines), or Yamato quality of design (not their QC). I too think that it needs to be re-designed all over. The armpit doesn't bother me. The latest Bandai Hi-Metal has nothing under the armpit either. And I'll choose the 1/48 VF-1 Armored (how many years ago it was first released?) over the 1/60 VF-25S Armored any day.
  7. Hmm... I wasn't here 4 years ago, and history doesn't affect me, but current affairs do. And you had every right to pant that it is perfectly okay to love M7. And I see that you do know your rights.
  8. I very much agree. The skulls on the tailfins and the heatshield (though I would like this one printed lower) and the backpacks are nice and clean. I can't understand how difficult it is to tampo the unspacy thing on the leg armor and also the red camera/dot thing on the head. Oh the head arrows too! As a battroid guy, the head script and details are crucial to me.
  9. Around US$65 Nope... Bandai wants to sell its only stands, you know. And no for the decal sheets too... Right, my other complaint is about lack of decal sheets. The head is missing the red dot, the leg armours have no UNSPACY tampo'ed on it, which I thought can be handled easily with a decal sheet if Bandai is too lazy to do. Hell, no decal sheet.
  10. The backpacks holds okay, but there seems to be no mechanism to hold it. The super parts attach easily. And because they are light, I don't have problem in handling. One bad thing I don't like is that one of the wings is floppy (same as my 1J) and the front foot detaches when I transform it. The skull is tampo'ed on. That's my second complaint too. I mean, I would like it lower in the torso.
  11. Thanks! Do you mean the Strike cannon? Yes it can rotate to near 90 degree to the front.
  12. I can't understand while you need any consideration. WHILE STOCKS LAST!
  13. It's a taboo to let people know you buy a toy and keep it in the box in the local toy forum.
  14. Actually there are a few valks in Sino Centre... (were still there yesterday!) You can find them in In's Point too so you are not missing anything. Oh I hope you enjoyed the trip and got what you wanted! Which VF-1 is your friend looking for, Grand Admiral? See if I can be of help.
  15. I agree! And even if you want to keep the boxes (which personally I would like to keep all boxes if I have the space), keep them. But open them and play with the valks.
  16. Oh! It can be on time in December!
  17. I would say that I don't really mind how irrational the content gets... Just present it right. It sounds stupid that the story line says "giant aliens don't want to go to war after hearing a song", but it pulled out great for me. It sounds okay that "protoculture left some hi-tech stuffs on earth and became legends and relics", but I don't like it when seeing flying stones and the birdman shooting lasers around. ** And this is entirely personal opinion whether it is presented "right" or not. So people are not right or wrong in liking or disliking M7. Or M0 for that matter. ** I must have to agree though, if everything goes "rational", we would have less argument. It would be boring though. I like the Gundam series with Newtypes better. Personally I think marathoning is a waste (did it in my youth when I had not many things else to do). It's like swallowing a nice dinner in 30 secs.
  18. M7... It's just not my cup of tea. Even if it's a standalone anime. The fact that it belongs to the Macross universe makes it more difficult to swallow. It's not about rationality. I love Gurren Lagann for its hot-bloodness. Kamina is the only male character of whom I own a figure. G Gundam, while I don't really like it, I can appreciate as a different Gundam show. Although I still don't deal well with the concept of Sailor Moon Gundam. I can take space monsters like giant aliens (who can shrink nicely through a cylinder) and Vajras (who share a communication thought network) easily. I actually like the ideas. OK, even space whales are fine. But space-flying alien vampires, music energy shield, space monster designs from the 70s (the huge protodevilns)... <comments removed after a second thought> And I didn't marathon M7 BTW (2 episodes shouldn't be counted as marathon I guess). I've learnt not to marathon videos in one go. You actually miss a lot of things because you cannot take in everything at once. Let's face it: if they don't divide at all, we Macrossers won't stand a chance. P.S. I can't wait to get my Robot Spirit RX-78 and Sananju coming this month.
  19. Got the same feeling too. If one does not like M7: - You don't know enough about the Macross series to understand that M7 is a well-implemented, if not perfect, embodiment of the Macross messages (teachings). - You cannot accept new things. - You are of the minority. <implication: your opinion is considered statistical outsiders - meaning you are just abnormal> - It was a big hit in Japan. You said you don't like it? <implication: you don't have taste> - You don't have taste. <explicitly> Baseline: it's your own fault if you don't like M7. Oh, one thing I don't like M7 is that it divided us. If we Macrossers had united we might have defeated the Gundams.
  20. Fan: SDF, MF Like: DYRL/MF:FS OK: M0, M+ Don't care much: MII Annoyed: M7 I didn't have much affection for J-pop too, but I like the ones in SDF and MF. DYRL(the song) wakes up the protocultural memory inside of me.
  21. In 2011, there is still the MF movie part 2... Let's hope something to keep up the momentum by 2012. After all, it's an official year in the Macross universe when Hikaru and Misa and Minmay got disappeared... Time to revive the original a bit I believe?
  22. Interesting. The more popular one gets, the less probable it will get made... And then companies complain there is not a market for Macross toys...
  23. To me, the VF-19Kai is the heretic of the Macross universe.
  24. That is exactly the current situation. If the first version sells 1000 unit, the second may sell only 200 - 300. It is nice enough if they entertain fans to some extent to release a repaint. And in defense of myself to accept a half-breed... At least the impurities are from another legitimate anime design (the DYRL version), not because of incompetence of a toy engineer (details made up by the engr to fill in the blanks he is not familiar with, or feel difficult to do).
