  1. See how I am easy to please and yet how I hate the current VF-25's.
  2. Damn! Look at that proportion!! Look at the leg placement! Look at that neck! Looks like they did it right this time!!!!!
  3. I think also it hurts business and reputation to release version 2 too early. We just have VF-25G(T) last month, and I suppose the version 2 has to wait for at least one year (or more) to be appropriate to inform people "that design is now outdated". Come to think of it, the first DX VF-25 was released more than 2 years ago.
  4. Thanks for the sharing! I am really looking forward to it now. I was not really impressed with the first movie, as you've said, we've seen it in the TV already. Something about the Mecha... Michael gets a Tornado upgrade, from what I learn from the toys. Does Luca get a Tornado too or other upgrades? What about Ozma? Is there a Klan 25S?
  5. I love all of you in this thread with discipline to not spoil. I still know nothing about the movie. Just wanna ask: is it good? How is the audience reaction?
  6. Some more thoughts: - The more you look at it, you would get used to it. Probably the designers have put enough time on it to miss the irregularities. - They were not familiar with the VF-25 from Day 1. They only get more familiar with their own work. (I didn't know how the VF-25S should pose like or certain parts should angle after I built my first VF-25 model. A year later when I looked at the photos again, I knew I had posed it all wrong.) Combining both mentalities, it is possible that they really missed the essence from the start, and things continued to go not-quite-right.
  7. Hi Jenius, I actually forgot who said that already. I just remember the arguments. Maybe more than one person did. I hope I didn't jump on your nerve or something. To all: Just my interpretation on the Collector's Division interviewee: - VF-25 to VF-27 is a "learning process": they didn't know how to make it right at first. They knew it better in making the VF-27. They admitted that the VF-25 was not adequate. - Appatently there were enough people writing to Bandai, yearning for an improved DX VF-25. I don't think half a dozen of such letters would make an impact. It takes many more than that. Other thoughts: I am obviously a DX hater (on the VFs. The MQ and VB-6 are sweet). Still I got all 4 VF-25s and the 2 VF-27s. Got all optional armaments from Tamashii shops. Not that I think they are great toys, but they are the only choice on the market. Especially with a decent size. - The Robot Spirit has stopped with only Alto and Michael and the Q-Rea's. I WANT THE VF-25S ARMORED! - The VF100 is dead. - I am looking forward to the Hi-Metal VF-25s. However, I am not sure if all four of the Skull Squad would get released, or the optional Super/Armored/Tornado packs. - To collect a COMPLETE set of VF-25 with all optional parts, the DX is the only way to go. - Heck, I even got the Michael in Tornado Pack. - So much for good sales = good built.
  8. Even on this board someone too argued that as the DX sold well, they are okay.
  9. No worries, before that we would get the Hi-Metal ones. Remember how I booed the DX VF-25 when its pictures were announced and how I reacted when I see the YF-29 ("is that a model kit?")... Damn, they could have made the DX less hateful had they tried.
  10. Thanks! So there is the possibility of a DX VF-25 v2! From what I've seen about the DX YF-29, I have high hopes for it. Even if that means I need to collect all those super parts, armor parts, tornado parts... Reactive missiles... Speaker pods... At least I don't need new Ghosts.
  11. Hmm.. The Hikaru 1A is also exclusive.
  12. I WISH the price comes with the FAST pack. One can always wish...
  13. I missed it this morning; so in case somebody else misses it as I did... I think it worths mentioning: The question mark is not for the YF-29, it's about the shade behind the YF-29, some kind of FAST pack. So the picture theme is about a mysterious FAST pack to be used by the YF-29, yet to be announced. P.S. I thought the question mark is for the blurry YF-29 battroid mode.
  14. May I ask if this is the DX or the model kit? I would be thrilled if the DX becomes slim like this. Edit: the crouch position doesn't look like the model kit. Of VF-25 at least. I've never made a VF-27, so I'm not sure.
  15. Another Macross? Surely yes!! Wait... Sequel to M7? Please don't.
  16. What? No Catherine for MF? If I can multiple-choose, I would take both Misa and Minmay. For MF, Sheryl, Catherine and Klan (if I can be in macro form).
  17. Some personal thoughts: Size does matter to me. Looks nice a Hi-Metal may, it just can't beat the proper size of a 1/60. Adequate the size of a 1/60 may be, the size of a 1/48 VF-1 with SSP still impresses me. No matter how I hate the DX VF-25, I am still pleased by its size. And the longer canopy of the 1/48 (and also the Hi-Metal) makes its fighter mode look better than the 1/60 as a plane. 1/60 compromises, thus it gets a better battroid mode. I regard the size for the 1/60 VF-0/19/21/22/25 is good for a toy. I like to pose my 1/48 VF-1S and 1/60 VF-0S together, and they don't look out of place at all. And I too agree, the 1/48 line is done. Although if they release a new 1/48 v2 line, I'll probably collect everyone of them. But it would be bad idea and bad business for Yamato. They should get the other models done. The VF-17, VF-19 and VF-4. In a few years, the VF-25.
  18. Good toys would boost an anime series' popularity.. I watched Kamen Rider because I am attracted by SIC and SHF. I watched FMP because of the Robot Spirit toys. I feel sad because the VF-25 designs had good potential to be brilliant toys to bring in more eyeballs from the anime/ toy community. But the design was ruined on the DX line IMHO (personally I accept the VF100 line, but to the general public it is yet another failure for the VF-25 toys). Of course it's sadder when a good product gets an undeserved discount, like the Macross Quarter. Good that the VB-6 gets its credit.
  19. I feel sad for the Macross merchandise. Not for Bandai.
  20. I am longing for its release too. I like Klan Klan!
  21. Or even how they reproduced the x-over in 3d is amazing. I am impressed. Alas, they fail in the most important department. The face of a figure.
  22. It's not sour grapes... It surely is sub-standard as a figure. Just to be fair, it's selling cheap too. However I am willing to pay more for a Megahouse level product.
  23. BTW, does anybody remember how ambitious the VF100 line was? Even VF-4 was in the marketing poster. And of course the then hot VF-25. IIRC, the VF-171Ex. Every hero valk was there and more. I hope The Hi-Metal line fares well enough to live up to that promise. Not realy a promise, but you get my meaning. OT: I like the RD VF-25 too, and I want a VF-25S Armored (announced but disappeared) and RVF-25 (wasn't in the VF100 line either). Even the Pixie team is complete! I want my Skull squad. OK OK! Make Luca a Tamashii exclusive, just get it done!
  24. The points are still true though.
  25. This is quoting from fellow MWer anime52k8 (hope you don't mind!), cuz I found his comment precise and to the point: "paint flakes off at the slightest touch; all the joints become spontaneously loose over time; plastic is greasy and covered in swirly scratches strait out of the box; and the paint and plastic colors don't match. also there are missing paint aps. " And please let me add: bad proportion in battroid mode. So I would welcome any better VF-25 toy to be made.
