I would say so two years ago. But remembering that the VF-25G Tornado Set was released just a few months ahead of the VF-25F Renewal, I am not so sure.

If you like the Battroid mode, you can't go wrong with v2. Or if you like the Gerwalk mode. Oh hell, get the v2. It is superior in every way, except for diecast parts.

I wanted to ask a long time ago regarding DX v2 (actually same question for v1, but I didn't really care)... Does it click or lock or something for the chest plate? I never know if I push the chest plate in the right angle.

I've bought the Figuart Zero Sheryl and Ranka at around US$85 and sold them unopened when I knew the 1Kuji ones were coming. I just got the 1Kuji C+D prizes at US$153. I always like the 1Kuji scripts better.

I like the VF-17D head better than the 17S one in terms of the toy. Just personal preference.

VF-1S TV version for me. A hero valk with a skull on it? That's wicked 30 years ago. An upgrade for the herp? That's still new 30 years ago. A legacy from the mentor? That's still quite new until today. -

My own opinion is that while I expect a Yamato production would be better than the Bandai DX version 2 offering, I do not expect the difference would be dramatic (such as that between v1 and v2). Better paint job, better plastic, more durable joints, etc... But otherwise in terms of the anime adherence, transformation design, I have no complaints on the version 2 DX. The difference is so small that it may not justify for Yamato to invest in the license or the line, given that MF hype has come and gone. Depends what happens at Macross 35th or 40th Anniversary maybe.

I plan to get a glass/ clear plastic block to support the armored part boosters. My armored 25S is displayed without the boosters at the moment.

It is a good idea, except that this is not the FB2012 color version of the valk. I am sure that such canonicality matters to a lot of otakus, like me.
