Yours and a few other's posts helped immensely, Shizuka so all is not lost.

I got one too. Totally got sucked in on this one. I was undecided when it was announced, got mildly annoyed when it hit and I wasn't able to be online to do anything about it, then got royally frustrated when the first wave of this "second preorder" sort of fizzled and even moreso when the "real" one seemed to do the same. By the time the link was posted, I was determined to make the order and surprisingly it worked. Nice tactic, if that's what it was.

Thanks everyone! Not sure what happened with the countdown but you people who posted links are awesome!

Thought it was on the hour but checking just now, I see it wasn't and I missed it. Oh well...

This is why iPads and vice grips don't mix. In all seriousness, hope this didn't sour you too much on the kit because it sure looks good from here!

I've got just one of the CF versions and although the shoulder triangles were broken pretty early on in its life, the legs have been no issue. Well, at least that I can see. The canopies breaking is a worry though. I'm going to have to have another look at mine to make sure there's no issues there. I'm still miffed that Bandai never did a properly colored armor set for the CF version. The CF only appeared with armor in the movie and it was a nice gray color. It was the EX that had armor in the TV series and that purple tone really works better with the white of the EX version. Nothing that painting couldn't fix but I really wish they'd have just released it with a different plastic shade in the first place.

@Shizuka the Cat and @sh9000 I'm even hearing the music between ad breaks with this shot! Nicely done. I think you're ready for an update to Photoshop or even one of the Open Source editors though. You'll be amazed at some of the stuff you can do now that you've worked with Paint.

They're one of my faves but in a fleet, they're just awesome to look at! Nice collection there Duy!

I was thinking the same thing. But also thinking a lot of this looks hand finished. Surely not, right? I mean if it were, that would certainly explain the price premium. Also, not a fan of the matte over clear parts. That just seems all kinds of silly to me. They're not exactly hard to mask off.

Thanks for this list TrickyCustomer! Especially that Australian one. The price is about $60 AUD higher than what you'd pay with HLJ for example (including Shipping charges) but as a "desperation charge" it's probably not terrible.

Was interested for the missiles and fold booster alone. Unfortunately couldn't make the time work due to.movingnhouse and driving during pre-order madness. And as much as I'd like to have it, the cd Japan shipping quote scares me away. Oh well, guess I didn't want it quite that badly.

Wow NZEOD! I know those are 1:72 but you'd think they were 48 or 32, given how crisp that paint is. Nice job!

Do I know Anyone in Fort Walton Beach Florida?
mickyg replied to Return To Kit Form's topic in Model kits
When I applied (4 years ago now) the max age was mid-50's as I recall. Maybe they've changed it? The fitness requirements prior to training aren't too crazy but once you're in, that all gets ramped up a lot. To the point where I think it'd be pretty easy to weed people out. Though you'd have to question your desire to be in if you're not physically fit. But yes, I'd love to have another crack at it some day. I couldn't do it because my marriage ended a few months prior to enlisting and because I've got two beautiful kiddos, there's just no way I'd have been able to manage all the travel and training, whilst still having any sort of reasonable relationship with my kids. When they're a bit older, maybe I'll rethink it. -

You lucky dog! You a RAAF person yourself? I was very close to doing a stint as an Avionics Tech a few years back. Had some life changing events that meant I couldn't even make the entry training up in Wagga. Disappointing but unavoidable. That's life sometimes. -
This is one of those few kits that has the canopy frame as a separate (not clear) piece. So you shouldn't need to mask it. I don't have it though, so if I'm off, please let me know.

Danth, any idea what the reasoning is behind this? That's just all kinds of random (but cool).

Except that usually the situation is reversed, the general releases are the ones that screw people over, due to the infinitesimally small release window. It's the exclusives that everyone seems much more likely to be able to get. This one is just a head scratcher, all around. I didn't order one, due to some budget restraints during the PO period. But I'm feeling for those of you who did.

It looks nice. Anyone else seeing those panel lines as a bit thick, though?

Poor guy'd get absolutely roasted if there's an emergency need to fire those rockets!

These vids are fantastic. Going to take some time to watch them all through properly this week. Not just the dude screwing up section of the last one - glad they put that up for all to see and hope this guy ended up getting the message. Lots of little things going into making sure everything goes smoothly, every single time.

I see what you did there! Ban him, he's one of those 'model guys'...

Yup. Mine rusted out too as I recall. And the fit was terrible as I recall. And fragile. Says something quite amazing about how great a toy Lego is. In regards to this thread, I sometimes wonder if toys themselves are what cause a place to stop being profitable. Our own consumerism and boredom can sometimes be the very thing that'll shut a store down. That and sheer selection. Toys R Us had so much selection, with so many choices, it's hard to believe that everything was capable of selling. I don't run a mega corporation but you gotta wonder if having too many things is a smart move. Might also explain why I preferred the smaller shops. They had far less to choose from but it's like the owners there knew what would sell and only stocked that. But then again, they went under too...
