  1. Except in the case of the YF-29 Isamu variant, that black part is actually molded in black! If they can do that for the Percival, that'd be great. Then we'd just have the joints to worry about, but that's the case for all the Bandai Frontier line at the moment. Hoping to see a fightermode pic of this soon. I'm with a few others about what makes it different to the other YF-29 types and I can't remember where that was first discussed. Probably a Macross 30 thread?
  2. I had no such expectations (magic isn't my thing). But injecting a bit of perspective into a conversation that looks like it's being misunderstood, in my opinion, is often a goal worth pursuing. I like to remain objective, whenever possible. But back on topic. In my opinion, having both the YF-29 and the VF-25 renewals on hand, and having disassembled and customised both, the YF-29 is on the same level as the VF-25. The engineering is the same. The panel lines and details are at the same level. The transformation is about the same, with the exception of the shoulders, which could be due to the missile gimmick or because the CGI model has it set up this way as well. I don't know but I don't look at them and think the YF-29 is not at the same level as the VF-25 renewals. I say all that becuase for anyone who's sitting on the fence about owning a YF-29 of any varient, because they think it's somehow put together more poorly or designed "less gooder" than the renewal 25 series, you need not worry. This Percival release should be just as good if not better. And if it's in the "just as good category" it'll still be a great toy, with the same well known qualities (and lacks thereof) as the Renewal 25 series. Just my two cents.
  3. I think he's clarifying his point. Not the same thing as "bringing it up again" in my opinion. Back on topic though, the original YF-29 IS a prototype. And so are all the '29s for that matter. Hence, the Y in YF.
  4. As much as I was on the fence about this, this annoys me. I emailed then a month or so back, when I still had a 25F on order with them, and they said they wouldn't be getting any of the Fs in and apologised. But the S they made sound like they'd have no trouble filling my order. Still going to wait till Friday but it sounds like this may be it. Odd that NY would get some, AFTER the preorder and HLJ can't even fulfill what was preordered. Odd...
  5. No HLJ updates for me either. I only ordered one. I'm still planning on waiting the whole week before I jump to any conclusions. I had the same issue with the 25F though. Déjà vu..
  6. Edit 2 is much more obvious. Love how that came out!
  7. Seriously! If you could add some heat soak effect behind the engines, I'd be convinced it was real!
  8. I wonder where this 88 second clip will be showing? I want to see it, but also don't. I like going into a movie knowing as little as possible. Other than some idea of the story, of course.
  9. While I don't have the 1J kit, I do have a 1S and a 1A and unfortunately, not on hand. Here's a comparison of the VF-25F and the non-kit 1J though: My 1J has had a light gray artist oil wash applied and I don't doubt that it's discolored it just a touch, in the process. That said, I still think of it is a fairly neutral white, while the 25F is more of a blue-white. Here's a comparison to a styrofoam cup, which is pretty standard white, to my eyes:
  10. While we're at it, what makes the YF-29B different to the regular models? I was expecting a dual occupancy cockpit but that's already there in the other versions.
  11. Dude, you knocked that one out of the park! I liked it before but this attempt is better in every possible way. Excellent work!
  12. I think it's her hair. She's wearing an itty bitty, black military style cap on the top and that's like a front pony tail thing (can you tell I have a daughter?) hanging down under it. Her hands are holding a whip out to cleverly hide her top bits, with the right one holding the handle, and the left, holding the end of the whip. I'm guessing the picture will potentially be more complete if you get the arms out of the way for Gerwalk or Battroid.
  13. Interesting...
  14. Near the top of the page. I was disappointed as well... Very excited about a VF-27 release though!
  15. Not to mention the graphic, which is also a triangle shape.
  16. That makes sense. I ordered pretty late in that massive window we had. I'll give it a few days before I jump to any conclusions.
  17. I have received no email. Though I have a PayPal billing agreement so no email, other than "payment processed" is necessary. Still, I am slightly curious about why there's been a seeming delay when others have already had their orders "bumped" up the line already.
  18. Booo... But not surprising.
  19. One of my all time favourite moments in the whole series! I'm definitely interested.
  20. You dirty, dirty bird! Nice work!
  21. Returning the favour, mate.
  22. And a VF-25F with armor and sniper. Done for effect or is this a new boxing?

    Hi-Metal R

That display is all kinds of awesome! Even if there is a DYRL Roy amongst other TV greatness. High hopes for this line. Very high hopes.
  24. That stand has been showing up a bit lately. I got one in my F-35A kit I ordered at the start of the year. I'm betting they're going to be included in more kits. Stand alone, not so sure.
  25. Give it some time. I'm not sure this is automated. There may be people who have to get these allocated. Hopefully...
