1. Pascoes long life, that's the other stuff! Yes, I have. But I used it on bandai VF-25 model kits. The one go had the best results in terms or coloring a canopy. But as for fixing up loose joints, it's probably all the same.
2. Pledge one go or there's another alternative in a yellow bottle (can't remember the name).
3. You don't like the "hang glider strapped to the back" look?
4. They are quite...substantial, aren't they? I think it's a tricky one to pose correctly, as it wants to tip over backwards. It's also a pain to photograph, too. Especially with a phone.
5. Still love this toy and all the posing possibilities. This one looks like a big, sharp, threatening X.
6. Some very interesting points you've all made here. I will think twice about posting open "hey check this out" links in the future. Most of the stuff I look to buy is readily available so I guess it hadn't crossed my mind that items I don't want, might be really hot for someone else. In short, if you want something and are on the lookout, probably safer to put it up in the wanted section and let folks here contact you privately if they find anything. That's worked out for me well in quite a few cases lately.
7. Absolutely incredible! Whatever competition fears they may have been about the upcoming vinyl offering - well one look at those pics should convince those who purchased this that they have nothing to worry about!
8. I can't believe the F-22 is 20 years old now. That's just nuts...
9. That's awesome! I wonder if she's thinking about flying?
10. And you're using some mighty fine tools and supplies for the job there! Very nice results.
11. What a beast! I'm super curious about how you make the main gun barrels sit straight. Every example of this thing I've ever seen, even the small ones, seems to really struggle to get a solid enough mount that they all point the same direction. Come to think of it, even the anime shows them splayed out a bit.
12. I'm sure they would work very well. I used them when I first started playing with customising and modifying toys but found in many cases, they were too stark. For the Isamu 29 for instance, black and even grey pens would be too dark for me. That's one of the reasons I decided to give the acrylics a try. I had a ton of Tamiya and Gunze acrylic paints for models and discovered "Radome" was about a perfect match for the plastic on the 29. Adding a small amount of gray to the tan makes it just dark enough to be noticeable, but not so dark it sticks out. AAAAnywaaaaay.... When are they going to announce a 25G reissue?
13. He does indeed and they all look amazing. He's my inspiration for tackling my Bandai Valks, without a doubt!
14. I haven't done a 25 yet, but the 29 was very easy to do a wash on and I think it came up great! Definitely worth a try. I've been using acrylics lately, mixed with water and a tiny bit of dish soap to break the tension. If you don't like it, wipe it off with windex and you're back to a clean slate. Pics:
15. Here, here. Still shaking my head...
16.
Working perfectly! Thanks Exo for turning it on, and Mike for figuring it out!
Unfortunately, I tested on my phone, then went straight to PC to post. It got a little confused from the look of it.
17. That scan is awesome! I've never seen that before and had no idea there was so much packed into the booster packs.
18. The 25G instructions don't really help much. But yes, as CY just mentioned, I completely forgot about the ankles. Everything that has a ball joint is metal, except for hip guns. The shoulders are metal on the ball end, but the socket is made up of two plastic halves. The swinging mechanism in the shoulder is also metal. The intakes are metal, with plastic inserts in the sockets and the ball is also metal. I can't remember the exact makeup of the ankles but I believe both ball and socket are metal, with appropriate pieces made of plastic for friction.
19. I'll take a photo of my 25G instruction manual, as bandai seem to have used an unpainted sample for the product images. It clearly shows the die cast. Just from memory though, the shoulder and hip joints are metal. Both the ball and socket. There are plastic inserts to deal with friction in both.
20. My dad worked on the YAL-1 project. Specifically wiring up the "scrubbers" used to clean all the toxic stuff from the gasses used, before they went back into the atmosphere. He said it was an amazing project to work on! Mostly talked about how amazing it was the see the B-1 there at Edwards though. Not sure if that was the NDA he had to sign or just his love affair with all things super sonic swing wing bomber. Back on topic, this is an amazing thread. Love reading about all the what ifs.
21. The Max and Millia Fighter mode set was 2 in a box though, wasn't it? What about the 1/48 scale kit? Nope, looks like the 1/48 set is just one Valk but both sets of markings.
22. I didn't know you bent them yourself. See folks, there's a labor component of these stands as well!
23. Is that both of them in one box, I wonder? 3600 yen for a 1/72 scale kit seems a bit steep otherwise. But half that seems way too cheap...
24. Now there's an idea! Either way, no biggy. Mine is back to mobile version after a few days.
