I gotta say, I'm so much excited by this than I am the VF-31. And I think the VF-31 is very nice too. I just hope the story gives me a reason to want to own one of these. With the price of the things being what they are, I don't buy unless there's something that hooks me about the machine in the story. Even then, sometimes the price keeps me from taking the plunge (I'm looking at you VF-25S + Armor Parts). I just love the sleekness and angularity of this 'Valk. Kawamori has done a very good job with it, purely aesthetically if nothing else.

Finally decided to drag this guy out again: Needed to get the head painted. From this: To this: I've got a thread somewhere that I'll update when I get a few moments. EDIT: Here we go: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=32977&p=1132551

I'm not sure I understand the issue here Treatment. You're certainly entitled to your opinion and expressing that opinion, but I personally fail to see how Jenius speculating about license status is going to have a harmful effect. If anything it will do the reverse. People might buy Arcadia in the hopes that they might get something before (if) Arcadia announces they won't be doing any more of something they don't have a license for. I don't see how that would cause folks to "buy Bandai" instead. Can you imagine if we'd have months warning that Yamato was going to fold? Actually, perhaps we did - I was admittedly out of the loop during this period and only got back into after the "Great Yamato Panic" was well and truly over. But for me, if I'd heard someone saying they thought Yamato wouldn't last, I'd have been more proactive in buying what little I could at the time. I know, we're not discussing Arcadia completely closing down here, just that they may not have the SDFM license anymore. Anyway, I respect both your positions. Just wanted to inject another viewpoint.

Those are incredible! I was thinking the thrust to weight ratio would be terrible but it appears to have more than enough for straight up vertical climb. And the control services implementation is just brilliant - roll rate is good and manoeuvrability looks more than sufficient.
-
Nice! But I meant making a new pivot mount for the Alpha Stands that has 3 points instead of one. Means a clear acrylic base, with a clear acrylic triple mounting point for the arms. It would save on the complexity of making 3 arms work with the current, single point only mounting point.
-
That triple wall mount is genius! I wonder if you could get that happening in clear acrylic for the next Yetistand version?

Hmmm... That sounds interesting. I'll see how I go without a door for a while. Like I said, this will be an improvement over what the toys have been getting in terms of dust protection, quite a bit. -

I've had my collection for years now (though its grown a lot in the last 2 years especially) and it's never been stored in anything. Dust doesn't worry me. The previous owner opened the box to set it up, then dropped the glass door before assembly was finished. It all went back in the box after that. Spanner, I scored it for $30! -

Finally picked up an IKEA detolf today. Second hand, but unassembled, and missing the door. Works for me as I didn't want a door anyway. It begins... -
It also looks a lot more finished than I'd originally thought. Maybe this is being intentionally kept mysterious? All this time I thought it was because it just wasn't finished yet.

I really like the head. It's very VF-25G inspired. And that's my favourite Valk of the Frontier era. Nicely done. And I always thought the 25G's head looked a lot like the helmets for the SV-51 pilots from zero. Nice circle there with Zero with helmets that inspired a head design in Frontier, that now seems to have inspired another, with new SV valks. That or it's all coincidental.

Wait, varl as in "sounds like snarl"? Or maybe a mispronunciation of vowel? Yeah, "Vowel Syndrome" and perhaps everyone stops being able to use consonants. Wow, that could be terrible!- 2715 replies

Not VF-4G but the good old FB2012 VF-4, Noel! That's a beige radome!!!

I think I agree with your earlier assessment that it looks like the back of the YF-29 with the gun deployed. I'm guessing it's designed to fit something else over the top of the gap.

I'm very interested in hearing about why there's an SV anything at all. I thought those were long gone before the first space war. I'm looking forward to finding out about the story for this series.

Macross Δ (Delta) - announcement thread

Believe it or not, I have never seen a single vid with Kawamori in it. Up till now, only still images and thoughts about what he might sound like. I gotta admit, I was expecting him to sound like Ozma...- 2715 replies

Macross Δ (Delta) - announcement thread
mickyg replied to renegadeleader1's topic in Movies and TV Series
I don't know what to think. I'm sure there's a lot more going on than just what the images suggest. But my first impressions are not as favourable as I'd have hoped. In other news though, this is the first time I've ever seen Kawamori in a video. And the first time I've heard him speak.- 2715 replies

Nice work, Moosey! See, you can get lucky with a CF 171. -
I'm lucky my son likes it. He turned 7 in June. He's been into Lego for awhile and loved the Star Wars Lego he got more than a year ago. And then it was rebels, and at some point we watched the original trilogy and he enjoyed it. We'll see TFA on my Birthday, the 19th. In 3d, no less. Looking forward to it. I'm a fan, definitely. But one of my best friends, who lives in Florida, he's something else entirely. Named his firstborn Jedi. No kidding.

I totally didn't get that before. Sorry! Yes, this would be a very cool thing to do. Agreed on so many levels.

I think at least two of our members have already done this. WM Cheng was one, I thought. Is it Macross Junkie who did one as well? EDIT: Here's a link to WM Cheng's gallery: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?app=galleryâ„‘=11252
