What a beautiful sight to behold! Does this mean they're going to be popular with their intended market?

And who is Charles? Is he a member here? I'd like to thank him for this first look.

Finally nabbed one at HLJ! Woo hoo!

To me, these "not done before" mecha are THE reason to buy into this line. I can't wait to have some valks and this new stuff, in scale for the first time ever! So excited. Still hoping to get a Regult if it pops up on HLJ again in the next few days, though.
  5. Outstanding! Love your work and love seeing it coming along. Thanks so much for sharing!

    Wow!
  7. I don't see that in my settings in Paypal. But the last transaction seems to have gone through without any extra currency exchange fees so perhaps my credit card is already the default source.
  8. Yeah, I've watched them over and over again the last few days, just to be sure. None of them are as I remember. The copies I watched in my younger days were all VHS and I do remember seeing "the Sentinels" and wondering what on earth had happened. I thought maybe the opening credits there would be different but even those aren't what I remember. I'm still going to have assume my memory is flawed or the Legioss/Tlead combo is what I remembered. So bizarre that a memory so clear turns out to not be accurate...
  9. I would be willing to guess that some folks (possibly myself included) would find recording audio of themselves commenting on a topic, to be a bit daunting. What if I mess up? My voice sounds silly. People will think I'm a nerd. *gasp* You know, stuff like that. It's different if someone is interviewing you. But get yourself in front of a recording device with just your thoughts and all sorts of weird stuff can make you think twice about going through with it. For the record, I like to talk and would love to contribute if this gets opened again. Just need a quite couple of minutes and something worthwhile to say. Oops, see, I've done it again!

    Grrrr! Missed the regult again!
  11. Thanks Seto. I was aware of what it is, as far as the so called "Alfa/Beta" in the series. However, that lone blue one in the opening credits, just doesn't seem like what I remember from my youth. I'm going to have to assume myemory is in fact flawed though. Thanks guys!
  12. It's a Kurisama part, if that helps.
  13. Right you are, Jason! I for one, am enjoying the back and forth and the differing opinions, passionate or otherwise. It certainly shows we all have a way of thinking about what we see and how we process it, and that's what makes us all unique and individuals. Bring on the show so we can have more healthy discourse, I say!
  14. Just throwing it out there, but I didn't take David's comments as anything more than an honest question. Especially given the disclaimer "gotta ask" as an almost apology or a "don't take this the wrong way" sort of thing. He's right though, the majority of (written) comments expressing dislike would certainly lead one to believe that Tochiro had only used the positive (spoken) comments, because surely there'd be negative ones as well. I'm glad to hear that at least those who were willing to voice their opinions verbally, actually like the show. I'm certainly one of those who wants to give it a chance and is hoping it'll have some depth and entertaining value as a logical progression of the Macross story. Just my thoughts and in no way meant to belittle or denigrate anyone else's, Jason.
  15. I know this goes a long way back, but does anyone remember the opening credits to Robotech, when it became something not related to the original Macross? I've searched Youtube for what I remember as a teenager and I just can't find what I remember. I seem to recall seeing some blue flying mecha and that's about as much as I can recall. They weren't VF-1s (at least I don't think they were) and for a while, I thought they were VF-4s. Was it the opening for the shoe-horned Mospaeda final series, maybe? I don't think they were Legioss/Tlead combos flying but I could be wrong. What I do remember was it being blue, and I could have sworn there were a few onscreen at the same time. And I recall thinking they were beautiful designs. Does anyone have any idea about what it is I'm remembering?
  16. Has to be my favourite VF-1 design ever! So wish that Arcadia'd re-pop this one. Even though I know the price would be crazy. Saburo, any chance of getting this one up on a stand, in flight?
  17. Paid for at HLJ as well. And not shipping till the Glaug and SDF-1, provided they release both within the 60 day window, of course.
  18. Ah, excellent. Hope to see your work with it soon.
  19. Sorted! Thanks for looking into (and fixing) that.
  20. What sort of airbrush have you got? Sounds like the tip is clogged. Put some solvent into the paint cup and tip it so it soaks the tip parts for a few minutes?
  21. I'm here! I don't have any idea what I'm missing yet so I may be doubly excited. Or doubly neutral? Not sure yet but I'm pumped. And wmkjr, speak not of the exchange rate!
  22. Possibly a dumb question, but what is meant by "treatment" in all this discussion? I've never encountered that when used to describe a movie that wasn't made, but it's been discussed and mentioned so many times, I can't help but think I'm the only one not familiar with the term. Is it sort of like a draft of ideas for a movie, prior to it actually becoming a working script? EDIT: Proof that sometimes it's better to search before looking a bit stupid: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Film_treatment And yes, I'm not afraid to look stupid, for the purpose of helping to educate others in my situation.
  23. I used to get stuff from the US fairly regularly. Both from family over there, as well as the occasional item from a few hobby shops (SprueBrothers being the main one) but about 2 years ago there was a stupid crazy price hike and now nothing is cheap to ship anymore, including gifts from family. So they've basically stopped shipping anything unless it's a letter. About the only game in town that's still somewhat affordable, is Amazon. Not sure how they manage to do it but they've obviously got some means of shipping on the cheap and it's still fairly reliable. As a contrast, UK to Australia shipping is reasonable. So is China, for that matter. Japan isn't as cheap as it used to be but it's still far better than the US to Aus rates.
  24. Ditto. Love how the wingtips fold up too. The ghosts as boosters is a great idea. But come to think of it, that's what we got in Zero as well. Nice followup, Kawamori-san!
  25. I know what you mean! Man, if I were more local and could promise a decent turnaround time for custom work for you, I'd jump at the chance. Hope you get the people you need to do the work. You've got some outrageously awesome stuff on display there.
