Yep, saw that thread and it's welcome news indeed!

So excited about this toy! Thanks for all the pics, guys. Mine arrives in a few days, along with a VF-4G, a Regult and a few other odds 'n ends from HLJ.

This is welcome, welcome news!

Mine too, Spanner! Looks like this morning at about 7am was the time to get requests, here in Oz.

Unless Hasegawa releases one, you'll be spending far more money on this than you should for a fighter mode only kit. Let's hope Has gets into the game much sooner than they did for Frontier. If memory serves, the Bandai kits were 6400 yen or something like that. The Hasegawa kits are nearly half that. You could argue the Bandai kits aren't that expensive, given the quantity of parts and gimmicks included, or you could say the Hasegawa kits are way overpriced. But the difference in ease of assembly and detail is definitely in Hasegawa's favour. I'm hoping to hear from Hasegawa sooner, given this new "Macross Modellers" manufacturer's consortium that's formed recently.

This gave me a hearty laugh! Nice one!

Super nice, Saburo. Very classy looking and that perspective looks fantastic! Not too exaggerated at all. What lens is it? -
He's done an incredible job on all three. I'm wondering how he did that head. It's an imaginative take on things, that's for sure!

I don't know, I was thinking "right up main street!" myself. And I was chuckling because I thought it was funny to a) think a regult actually has a "main street" and b) knowing you'd probably posed it that way with a different intent but being amused at how interpretation can vary so widely. Either way, love all your poses SH9000! -

Love the pics, Saburo. I have this in the box and now feel the need to get it out and put it on display again! Just wish I had the stupid super parts and ghosts! -
Fantastic! And great use of the folded up cardboard, too. I've adopted that approach but only one layer, wrapped around my bottle of windex, and that's just my makeshift paintbrush holder. Never even considered using it for parts and making the whole thing more dense so it stands up on its own. Still surprises me how often I fail to think outside the box sometimes.

Excellent work there - on all counts, NZEOD! You really need to be careful with your feet though. Screw, chisel, shot - all in one weekend? Man, be careful there!
-
Agreed on all counts with what everyone has said. That's some amazing scratch building work on a toy. And the paint work is just sensational! Would love to know how durable it is with areas that move/rub.

I'd completely forgotten about this pic. So, so good. And the more I get into photogram and digital image manipulation, the more I appreciate the calibre of work like this. Some serious talent here.

Mine's still sitting in PW at HLJ so I can't look myself, but is there any means of tightening this?

That's how it reads to me and it's nice to see in that regard. It's been probably 5 years since I watched it and for me, that was the first time I'd seen it. I had heard all the negative stuff about it and very little positive, and decided to see for myself, as unbiased as I could be. So I watched an ep or 2 on my lunch break for quite a few weeks. Sometimes this is a good thing because it speeds the story up. But other times, the suspense that keeps you wanting to see what's going to happen, well it gets totally ruined and can kill the pacing. I think I experienced both when watching this. And honestly, seeing some of your comments and insights, I'm reminded of how much I missed when I watched it. I don't guess there's much of a way to gauge how much your 7 stuff is getting read? Do you have any sort of analytics on the site?

Amazing! That is just incredible, Xigfrid!

And, he shows some pretty good skill in escaping the house, before he's officially joined up. Plus, his mad car driving skills. I see no glaring issues with his character development.

Thanks for taking the time to explain things, everyone - it's a lot clearer now and it's nice to see things get worked out like they do so often here. It's a real pleasure sharing this hobby with everyone here.

Missed HLJ. Happens every time. It goes up when I'm driving home from work. Got no chance.

Gorgeous shots, Saburo! Glad to see some wider angle with the "team" shot there too. I just noticed there are some "classic" Macross verniers on the VF-4 that I hadn't noticed before. The outside of the tops of the thighs in Battroid, and it looks like there's one in the shoulders, above the "speaker" looking thing, too. But in both cases, they're not painted. Was this the case on the Yamato as well? Might need to do some detailing on my copy when it arrives... -
I'm in agreement. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, obviously, but I for one am happy to hear that Noel was taken care of by HLJ. Sharing that experience is helpful to the community in my book. It influences my opinion on where I buy my stuff. Surely that's an OK thing?

I've been keeping up with 'em and enjoying the commentary. It's been a few years since my 7 marathon watch but it's bringing back a lot of memories.

That looks an awful lot like an XB-70 Valkyrie to me. I never noticed it before in the show. Nice find! And welcome, Heiki.
