I completely forgot the shields clip into the hard points! Makes sense now. And it's not a terrible look, aesthetically speaking. Totally pointless though.

Hang on a second, is it my just my eyes or do the forearm shields magically change places during transformation, from the bottom of the wings, directly under the boosters, to the arm cover/shields? I never noticed that before in the anime...
  3. This would be unreal and something I'd absolutely love to see! And actually, I'd be very interested in getting hold of any masks you do. Having yellow on the decals instead of the gold they should be, has always bothered me. If I could paint them instead of using said decals, it'd look so much better!
  4. This thing is looking incredible Xigfrid! I can't believe how complex the arms actually are on the Vajra. The animation makes it all look so fluid but really, it's a living transformable crab monster!
  5. Thanks Shawn, your work so far has been exemplary! The site looks and functions really well. I'm sure you'll have the other little bugs ironed out in due time. Really appreciate all the tech time and effort you put into this place!

    One more spot to fill...
  7. The 31J looks great on the beta stand!

I can forgive that part, as it's really durable plastic that suggests it might be better able to withstand the rigours of the wing fold mechanism. Then again, perhaps the same plastic in white could have done the same?

And if the Frontier valks are anything to go on, the paint they're using might very well be identical to the Tamiya and Gunze paints I use for my models - alcohol/water based acrylics. I've managed to strip the paint VERY easily with nothing but a Gundam marker eraser. In fact, putting fresh Gundam marker paints on is a recipe for messed up base paint too. Point being: be careful with the paint.

Yeah, there are definitely areas where the paint looks very thin. Like single coat with an airbrush thin. So far, I've got that on the portion just behind the canopy (white is wearing through). Not sure what's happening there but definitely be cautious with handling. I'm not one to wear cotton gloves when handling toys but it has me thinking it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Just got my 31J in and must agree - the box is excellent! Here's hoping the toy is good too but first impressions are very good so far.
  12. I'm another who would love to find this in the usual places. I'm guessing it's subject to the same "embargo" as the other Bandai Star Wars kits are. And if that's the case, it's a real shame.

Same boat, my friend. Was on the way from the USA to Australia, by way of new Zealand. There was no way for me to ever have a chance at ordering it through the regular channels.
  14. I think they're in the base/stand, disguised as verniers.
  15. That is magnificent! Canopy is obviously custom but I can't see a whole lot more I can readily pick out as 'not lego' from the vid.
  16. The render certainly looks amazing! Obviously a VF-1J though - not sure where that 1S is coming from.

For Arad, I'd say his scheme undoubtedly, "festive".
  18. My thoughts exactly! If I didn't already have about 40 unfinished kits of various subjects to build, I'd have nabbed this one and likely done something very similar. Living vicariously through other's builds is about as good as it's going to get for awhile.
  19. I think that would look amazing! Like some sort of flying royal jewelry!

And the big missiles (RMS-1 I think?) are yellow tipped, making them DYRL style as well...

    Hi-Metal R

Yeah, but those missiles are the same off-white that the rest of the CF is cast in. So they're not quite right for the other valks either. It's indeed a head scratcher. To be fair, the regular type missiles were only used without the super packs, as I recall. And I think they might even have been the special, fire suppression types.

<Checks new Max thoroughly> All here and accounted for!

Nice sh9000! Your pic reminds me of my only real gripe with this toy, since Max just came in today - no regular missiles. I guess I should have known that, with all the box and tray pics floating around, but somehow I missed that. So I guess Hikaru's are a good substitute. I'm much more OK with the colour choice than I thought I'd be and mine seems to be pretty solid so far.
  24. Cory, absolutely awesome on every level! Thank you for that, in all sincerity.
  25. That's very interesting. Do they have your "buyers account" somehow linked to your forum membership? That seems shady indeed.
