  1. Love this figure! I had the one from the '80s as a kid (can't remember who made it - Bandai?) and had so much fun with it. No idea which one of my siblings eventually inherited it but it's long gone now. Seeing the pics brings back some great memories! And Saburo - that last one is just all kinds of awesome!
  2. That's awesome! What do we have here? Airwolf arm, VF-1S head (in Jetfire visor guise), Dukes of hazard left arm, Heman sword (?), Optimus Prime body, Back to the Future license plate, Ghost Busters left lower leg and foot, and The A Team van. Oh, and all of it looks like Voltron! I think it's fantastic!
  3. Awesome work!

I thought the "gun bundle" under the Spartan cover was the same as the twins on the Tomahawk. That pic makes it look like the one in the Spartan is much bigger. I'd think it was perspective distortion but the legs look about the same size between them. Maybe they're not the same "gun bundle" after all? Yeah, I'm sticking with gun bundle cause it sounds cooler.
  5. Hah! But what about when that art is from Tenjin?
  6. Love it!
  7. Yeah, it was different enough that I never really warmed to it. Too skinny or insectoid looking or something. But given the passage of time, it sorta started to grow on me. Nothing to do with the codpiece weapon though, I promise.
  8. Ah! Yes, that makes perfect sense. Sorry, totally missed that.
  9. Can't seem to reply without my previous quote in my phone, so apologies (tried six times now). Anyway, that looks like a crotch gun to me. Not leg. Anyone else see that?
  10. Such inspiring work guys! Love the zombies and love the guerrilla warfare stuff with the mechanical! Such talent here.
  11. But what about all that pretty box art???
  12. I've resorted to putting the boxes into HLJ shipping boxes and putting those out of site. It makes me feel better but it's obvious I have a problem...
  13. Given the amount of work you do with metal, I think a 3D printer would be most useful for you in building jigs. Still, given your penchant for engineering, I'm guessing you'd do some amazing things with one, just the same.

    Bandai DX VF-31

Probably. And yeah, I'd say there's a very good chance we'll see Messer's back in at some point. Though I would expect them to be brief, just like these occasional Js that show up.
  15. Still getting the hang of using the new software from my phone. Screwed up a whole post just now. I have the Ba kit for Kassim/Herman and the main silver decals are only represented once. The tiny little accents are there for the colours but that's it. Bit of a bummer. Back to this little experiment, I fully intend to use the panel line trick to help overcome any mishaps. Here's progress so far: The spine sticker was to see how hard masking would be. It's...Doable? But not sure I really want to. The gaps will be mostly filled with masking fluid. I love the stuff and it makes a masking job so much easier. Still planning to mod the carriers on the elysion too. Those flat decks need to be angled!
  16. Outstanding! The guy can build masterpieces in miniature, and he tells a good joke too!
  17. They'd need to be hockey puck micro-missiles to fit into that shallow a space though.
  18. That looks incredible! Love how all those pieces come together - things you recognise from other mechs no longer look like they belong there, it just blends seamlessly! Very nice work.
  19. It's a really hard cutting mat. Sort of... Instead of cutting into it, you use the laser etched lines to guide the blade of your cutting tool. Here's the HLJ link: https://hlj.com/product/PITIT3002 There's one for cutting straight lines too but this one is way more versatile, while also working just fine for regular lines too.
  20. Sketchly, awesome work! I've decided I don't like the stickers enough that I'm going to be crazy and paint as much as I can. Here's my starting attempts: This orange thing is outrageously cool. Picked it up from HLJ during their "sale" just gone (you know the one...). It's a black piece of acrylic I think, covered with a durable orange layer. The whole thing is then laser etched with lines. The lines are narrow enough that you can easily drag a hobby knife through them and voila, tiny, repeatable, perfect pieces of masking for small stuff like these kits.
  21. Same boat here. I was of two minds about it for a few weeks before the pre-order date. In the end my curiosity got the better of me and I nabbed one. I know I'd be annoyed if I hadn't gotten it and saw all the cool photos coming in after release.
  22. One with what now?
  23. And we're looking forward to your photographs!
