+ 1 The valks are ok but aren't comparable to the V2 1/60. The destroids and the Zentraedi make this line more complete
-
You're right. Dunno why wave only did the Tomahawk and defender. I thought they were gonna do the phalanx and the spartan. I think Hasegawa also came out with sdf movie and storm attacker and cartoon sdf. Bandai should finish the hmr macross destroids before going onto a new line.
-
Macross has also the wave and Hasegawa kits. Metal build for macross would be probably better than the dx line because the metal builds seem to have more metal. I think the inner frame is all metal. Metal on the transforming or moving parts could be more durable.

Yeah missed out on the exs during max preorder. Again not sure why bandai doesn't do preorder like Takara transformers which last for a long time. Seems bandai is the only one with 1 minute preorder madness
-
Just preordered a masterpiece grapple. 2 hours after preorder open all available. No stress no 1 minute ordering sold out. Too bad bandai valks aren't more like ordering Takara tomy transformers.
-
Space limited too. It does take a lot of space. More than devastator hehe
-
Looks like 6 sensors. 4 sensors for the 4 artillery and 1 on each hand for the Rocket launchers

Do you have wreck gar from transformers? Try it with the VF riding wreck gar in motorcycle mode hahaha
-
I think jenius review covers which V2 1/60 have shoulder problems. The latter V2 are supposed to have decent shoulders. All modes look awesome. The parts tab in so it feels tight and no floppy parts. If you have a model listed as proper shoulders you should try out the gerwalk mode that v stance is the best. I agree the yamato 1/48 is real pretty. That jet mode with the bells and whistles is the boss. Can't wait till the destroids come out from bandai.

Do you guys know if any of the hmr shelf warmed in Japan? The Glaug?
-
I don't like the heat shield swap either. It should be tabbed in whether it's the heat shield or the canopy. But I transform the hmr more than the 1/48 or the 1/60. I find the process more straight forward and also less worried that the shoulders will break since they pop off. I never liked the swing bar connection on the 1/48 or 1/60 although they look good. My 1/48 is mostly in jet mode next to my masterpiece Takara skywarp version 1. Both these mecha have really good jet mode although crappy bot mode. I think the skywarp was also kawamori design but it later got redesigned for a better bot mode at the expense of the jet mode. Some of my guests didn't even know these planes transformed. My 1/60 V2 Yamato are usually in gerwalk or battroid on display. My hmr are in whatever mode I left them in last since I pose them more head to head with the regult and glaug. They're not really 1/100 scale but I like to put the hmr valk next to my master grade Gundam sometimes since they're both supposed to be 1/100 scale. Kind of cool to see them in relative size. The pilot could fit in either.

I think so too or it might have been the gimix. It's a nice feature but I don't think I'd use it much. Thanks for pointing it out and pic astra

V2 arcadia is the Valk. The best without dispute. So much better than all the other valkyries including yamato 1/48. Although I keep both the 1/60 V2 and 1/48 because they're both so awesome. Steep pricing but you can check em out in a store and you'd agree they're premium. Like masterpiece transformers but way better. The toynami are kids toys. Like transformers deluxe. They don't appear to be quality but are good for kids. The bandai are like toys but way better than the toynami. And the destroids and enemy mech make the line probably more complete than any line currently. Like leader class or masterpiece transformers in terms of quality forthe valk and the hwr and enemy mech are similar to yamato destroids quality. Sorry for the transformers comparison but most people are familiar with it if that clarifies your decision. I like all the valks except the toynami.

Yeah so tempting. Ha ha

Thanks seti for clarifying that. I guess I'll pick up the combo kit because of those decals.

Does the gerwalk kit come with only the 2 boxes for airplane and robot mode? Are the parts for gerwalk in those boxes or is there another box? So if I buy the plane mode then later the battroid mode is it missing the gerwalk parts or do I have to but the gerwalk kit even if I have the plane mode? Thanks
-
Totally agree. The monster is like the Yamato destroids quality. The hmr valkyries shoulders are designed so that they can pop off but aren't part formers. The hmr are fun toys. The Yamato V2 early pieces had exploding shoulders so they're not play toys. But Yamato looks so good in the display.

I like the colors of the HWR. It looks like world war 2 colors. If they release the other destroids in both tan and OD, the OD would look pretty nice next to the HWR.
-
thanks for the video. didn't know the monster had hands. this vid seems the different monsters have different shooting animations. this review vid is in Japanese (?) but it's pretty decent
-
Nice review jenius. Yes more destroids bandai Dunno much about artillery but do the shell loading at the back look small for the size of the barrels? For plastic shells, koto used to sell bullets and shells that might be big enough but requires painting and doesn't look as good as brass.
-
Me too. Don't like the vb6 short barrels and weird feet.
-
I like the hwr more than the Glaug. I think you'll enjoy it too.
-
My sentiments exactly. I don't like the dx preorder madness. I don't enjoy toys as much if I have to stress out in the buying.

Same experience with vf25 they don't have stock Yup I wrote about the same thing about the heat shield compared to the monster pit. It's the relative size. Not the scale issue.
