  1. I got to watch Serenity back in December on TV. It was decent, and with only some experience of the original series, it acts like a good finale or starting point for something new. Unfortunately, by now it really was a finale to the whole thing. Oh well.
  2. Wait, so what's the difference between them? One doesn't wear a bikini, but what else?
  3. J T of the Protoculture Times might be doing an analysis for Shadow Chronicles somewhere down the road, but he's pretty much made people know his thoughts about it already. For parody, we all might have to settle with the parodies that are currently out there in the Internet; Not Necessarily the Sentinels, Khyron's Counterattack, and segments of Bad American Dubbing. No one else cares. Remember this classic? See, giving Shadow Chronicles more attention isn't worth it.
  4. Is this an adaptation of that Wii game with the bikini girl with the sword?
  5. Ryan Reynolds was the only highlight for me in that film. That should have been a sign of how good he would be as Deadpool.
  6. Heck, all of the Super Star Wars games on the SNES were like that, but pretty good too. Out of the three, I was only able to beat A New Hope, and without cheating too.
  7. Supposedly, there's enough out there to deserve a fan works award or something for Comic-Con. However, I think the whole thing is fixed or biased in some way.
  8. I'd also argue that thanks to legalities, Robotech no longer has a past either. It's restricted to a bunch of Tommy Yune's comic books and the original 85, and requires a lot of new, original world building developments by Tommy Yune and co. just to get the franchise back to the present (Shadow Chronicles). There's a lot of new gaps in the storyline someone needs to work on. That also means working with critical restrictions since HG is definitely not equipped to do any of that, and the persistent legitimate Macross problems.
  9. Wouldn't that make Lynn Kyle right about everything in Robotech? He was still a jerkass, but the message he was spreading about the military was still important. Unfortunately, with the way Robotech was created, the story may had inadvertently made everything he was preaching true, especially during and after the Master's Saga. Anatole Leonard, T. R. Edwards, Jonathan Wolfe (the fall from grace), and even Rick Hunter in later years are all examples, taking extremes with the power they were given and corruption. And there's art imitating life, as certain people, and HG, have taken a TV show to extremes. So I'm thinking, for something described as deep, thought provoking, and mature by people, no one actually learned anything from the Robotech storyline. They got distracted by the pew-pew-pew-pew-pew-pew & Rick Hunter.
  10. The foundations for this franchise were not very good in the first place, considering the dirty little secrets it has. How anyone still trusts these people is beyond me, especially when a lot of them are older than me. How HG manages material should have been a clear sign of all of this.
  11. I assume they think they're special because what they do is "for the cause." MEMO called it fandom politics to me once, and it sure does sound like ridiculous politics sometimes. One thing though, isn't what they're doing one of the many lessons the Robotech storyline taught viewers to avoid or frown at? Someone help me out here.
  12. The new Jabba the Hutt scene in A New Hope, yes. The cameo by Fett in the same scene, no, that was retroactive fan service. The Robotech comics and novels are the same deal; retroactive fan service to patch the story together due to natural consistencies in the source material until HG had second thoughts for a huge chunk of them.
  13. I watched this sometime either last year or in 2008 when the standard version of this video was around. The information is not accurate anymore, but the videos were very informative about the milking HG went through with multiple versions of the Robotech VHSs and DVDs. Did he actually do a review of Shadow Chronicles?
  14. I haven't checked recently because I got rid of most of the Robotech material I had at home with my auction. I do remember A LOT of comics and toys in various condition being sold at the time. Crystal Dreams was also there somewhere. I was discouraged at first, because for most of the active and completed auctions no one was bidding or bidding very little for them. It motivated me to to pander to anyone enthusiastic about Robotech with my auction's description, but only 2 people wanted it at the end. I said more positive things about Robotech and Tommy Yune there than I ever did before. So, expect very low prices even with signatures.
  15. Hmm, I'm still not sure about it. I hope it's like that Sprite commercial with all the rappers.
  16. Not true, a semi complete set of Robotech: From the Stars comics including the variant covers from Wildstorm by Tommy Yune I sold last year on ebay was worth $5 plus shipping. I'm not pissed that I lost some money on it; it fulfilled the original plan I had for it when it was bought cheaply from a comic book convention in the first place. I was never going to keep or cherish it for anything except making money.
  17. That game was so hard and frustrating. I never got far in the game, but kept trying. On the NES, there was also this game called Flying Warriors which I managed to beat once but was also very hard. It was part fighting game and action RPG kind of thing. I was so determined to beat it, and had problems with the password system, that I kept the system on all day just to beat it. One thing that sucked was while most of the game was fighting and side scrolling, some portions like final battle changed to a turn-based RPG style of combat out of nowhere with very little in the instructions explaining how to win. The blocking system also really sucked when you were trying to defend against a magic attack.
  18. Actually, for Untold Story, Canon wanted less pretty girls and more explosions. They took out the sex scene from Megazone 23 and added more carnage from Southern Cross. It's when Tommy Yune came along that boobs took priority.
  19. You mean staying on translating Bleach and the like is not glamorous? It's the industry he helped start, or at least molded in a different direction as a response to his work methods. He should be thankful he still works since the glory days here may not come back.
  20. * Remote control Valkyrie, sometimes wireless. * Reliable ejection system.
  21. People are forgetting to ask the most important question related to any material regarding Robotech these days: Are these Wildstorm comic collections canon to the Robotech story? Prelude to the Shadow Chronicles, unfortunately, counts by the Creative Director, but if the rest have no weight whatsoever, where is the incentive to buy them unless people REALLY love Tommy Yune's work? It's something to consider when continunity has become a very sensitive issue for people. Oh, and there's Macross the First if you can find it.
  22. I agree. I only needed one game from the series to get the general idea and took it for what it was. It's also kinda educational, or at least it made me want to check out what really happened in Chinese history.
  23. I'd honestly settle for being a jerk than a tool at this point. Don't have to force myself to be in denial and picking trivial fights all the time for something that hasn't shown life for three years. Forget about the reprints of Tommy Yune's Robotech comics that are... oh, never mind. New filler in old comics IS progress.
  24. I think it might be of interest to you, since you might be a talking point on the next show, as well as "los mensajeros de la descrucion que son los chicos de MW," or "the messengers of destruction who are the people of macrossworld." God, MEMO or doug is probably feeding the host lines or something. Another example of the petty crap that goes around when it comes to the vocal personalities of Robotech while they're waiting for Shadow Rising and Hollytech.
  25. How about this one? http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkC...9738&cmd=tc
