For newcomers, there's probably nothing wrong with the PSP Go since they haven't invested heavily on related products for the thing yet. I still wish Sony's plans for offering digital copies of UMD games you already have happened though.

Would it be safe to say then, that if the Robotech section of HG was consistently under-performing and no one was interested in collaborating in any way with that license, their bosses can give them the shaft with no adverse effects to the company? They'll keep the license, but won't have to keep paying the usual people for... whatever they do these days. It sounds too complicated, perhaps an epitaph to the glory days of Robotech would be enough. A lot of the potential information that could go into this is readily available on one form or another out there. Why do the work people really should be doing themselves? And it's not like another website dedicated to Robotech/Macross is going to make a difference; people are free to ignore even a well made site with all the info about the shows one would ever want. Because some people just love hating Macross Purists for whatever reason.

You're misunderstanding; you can tell the state of a franchise with the amount of new material that comes out on a regular basis. The same defective toys and recollected reissues of old comic book releases are not a good thing. No one even knows where Shadow Rising has been in 4 years and the guy who did Stomp the Yard is the latest person to be affiliated with the LAM. All I see is a company limping on hoping the legal holdings over Macross footage and merchandising will get them through another year while waiting for WB to give them some exposure. Your work is unnecessary. And while I'm at it, MEMO's competing work is also unnecessary, and hopeless unless he has a good lawyer somewhere down the line.

But they could be giving their attention, and more importantly money, to the wrong people, letting this whole confusing situation continue. The Robotech section. Is there more information that people need to know about or is it some harsh criticism about the establishment that can be pretty much be seen?

What's the point of doing all of that again?

At this rate, Astro Plan and other knockoffs are probably HG's only hope for Robotech.

I've stuck to 1/144 HGUC Gundam models because the 1/100 and bigger grade ones are too expensive and take up a lot of room. To make them look more accurate to the show, I used Games Workshop paints and techniques. A couple of years ago I was working on turning a spare RX-78-2 Gundam model into the black RX-78-1 Prototype version, but got busy with other stuff. If I ever get around to it, hopefully the paints haven't dried out yet.

So far, good dragon training has burninated The Losers. http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/news/2...oxoffic25_N.htm Still, there's a lot of factors that could have led to that this weekend.

Isn't the first generation PSP significantly cheaper to buy used now? Not that I'm suggesting you buy it, you're better off getting the recent versions as a primary while leaving the 1000 one hacked if you have the money.

I haven't noticed a difference. But then again, I've always been worried about the fan and other noises my PS3 makes while I use it for a long time. It doesn't help that I got the 60 GB backwards compatible system. I also had the same issues with the PS2.

How different is this from the Evangelion books/magazines that came out back in the 90's?
-
Hold your horses there, we don't know if the LAM is going to be tacky. What is known is that it's ambiguous and under severe legal and artistic restrictions from the nature of the show.
-
I guess this opens up other depressing possibilities; those who did work on the original shows that made Robotech may finally get respected... when they die. God forbid people like Shoji Kawamori, Haruhiko Mikimoto, and Yoshitaka Amano (Mospeada & Final Fantasy) get treated like that for the sake of the franchise.
-
Like I said, ironic. EDIT: Wait, is he even relevant to whoever reads Variety if they didn't mention the LAM?
-
But isn't that more because of Animeigo's influence than HG's? They insisted on and took most of the risk for releasing the original, and HG only followed through because they realized there was enough interest to make money out of it. Without Animeigo, I don't think it would have happened at all. For Yamato, maybe it just needs a third party willing to invest in it.

Regardless, I don't see why Macross, a legitimate successful franchise of its own, continues to get screwed for the sake of progress. By comparison, the Star Blazers/Yamato strategy worked out better.

A lot more accessories out there are compatible to the newer versions of the PSP. You'll be losing out on features if you get the older one (series 1000), like connecting it to a TV.

I guess I can wait a while after it gets released for an enhanced PS3 version or something. -
That would be ironic.

Well, it keeps people interested and coming back to conventions or online asking the same questions every year. Maybe that's what they intended.

Big T*ts Zombies! Sora Aoi and Risa Kasumi!

I was never good with gore, but who knows. -
Much of the success and achievements Carl Macek made for Robotech and the anime distribution industry, especially in the early days, came at the expense of something else. He made choices that turned out to be important moral and ethical dilemmas in the emerging industry, which had ongoing consequences as this and other places have shown over time. What's sad is that some of it was both unnecessary and repairable if he tried, but he ended up strongly defending his actions till the end. How he went about it made him look like an opportunist, lacking class and integrity, even while he was trying to do some good with his talents. Because of this, on a professional level, I can never accept what he did in his early career. Especially here, the ends did not justify the means. However, on a personal level, I had no problems with him. I never met the guy and he never directly offended me. I can only really comment about the work he did and what happened behind the scenes from it. Despite his, I sincerely offer my condolences to his friends and family for this tragedy. Rest in peace sir. After dwelling on it for a while, that's all I have to say about it.

I don't know how to respond to this yet. Damn.

I might see it, but I was worried when one commercial I saw had a review mentioning the 3D was better than Avatar or something. No clue why a reviewer would make make that kind of connection out of the blue.
