  1. Since he killed/revived Optimus in number 2, Bay would have to move towards Unicron or something as grandiose to bring an epic conclusion to the trilogy. I can't stand another film with mindless carnage and dirty jokes sandwiched in.
  2. Remember the name of Ben Stiller's character in Meet the Parents? I thought that was the rationale for changing Roy's last name; how it's written and pronounced. I have no idea about Robotech's FTL method. In the novels, they lost a few years by performing a very long-range fold. It couldn't have been a fluke, as they had had the technology for about ten years following the Macross Saga.
  3. One little side comment towards him on one of their shows that wasn't a big deal. They spent the rest talking about something more important, the Macross TV show. Yet that was enough to start a three hour rant.
  4. So they haven't actually worked on anything beyond a script/draft either. They'll be starting all over and we may not see anything concrete from it for another year or two. They also have to pick the "right" people to work on it too.
  5. I heard Robotech: The Untold Story found success in Chile, so it's possible. If they were actually serious about it, I see no reason why they would make reports like this on a more legitimate news source for the anime/sci-fi industry instead, like the Anime News Network. It's one of the groups they still cater to these days, and it would generate more interest than using another small grassroots operation on the Internet like they've done in the past 5 years. Plus, you wouldn't have to keep coming back rationalizing the frequent stalls in productions that's plagued the franchise since Shadow Chronicles, like sicking Kevin McKeever on naysayers every few months (he still works in HG, right?); just do something in the mainstream public's eye and they'll eat it up for a while. And it's cheap as free too compared to convention panels. I only saw a lot of that recently when Carl Macek died, and as people have commented, the sincerity seemed questionable in favor of attracting business opportunities.
  6. Wait, Transformers tanked recently?
  7. He could make Tommy Yune eating a sandwich look like a milestone at this point.
  8. So two parties schedule an interview, one to promote the franchise through free advertising (exploitation) and the other to gain credibility with the same people and opponents he's always had, and a potential merchandising opportunity for a production in no way in production yet is the biggest thing to come out of the conversation? That podcast is definitely Space Station Liberty 2.0, except more prepared to take cheap shots against opposition and in dual languages. They're all better off preparing for their show and dance performances for conventions like Comic Con like they do every year.
  9. Hmm, if there was more information about the LAM, like who the hell is actually working on it now and when it's coming out, then that would be worthwhile to know. Then again, whatever comes out of it is a licensed game of a movie, and we know how 99.99% of those games end up. That story just sounds desperate, for Tommy and MEMO.
  10. Pardon my ignorance, but what is the usual price for making a patch? You might be able to savage something from this if you lost.
  11. Some people would spin this around saying it's even more likely because there is one less franchise in line for a Hollywood film. Oh well, at least people will get to see all the material they came up with sometime in the future.
  12. Innovation? They're doing whatever it takes to make money with the least amount of risk possible to keep their licenses. For example, behold the "new" "Jack Baker" Whatever fighter.
  13. He was given an episode on Batman: The Animated Series and used no magic to get the job done.
  14. There's also avoiding paying real money for any products with the Robotech, Harmony Gold, and Toynami brand name on it. The investment pretty much leads nowhere and people generally get screwed from it.
  15. Olivia Munn is now a correspondent for the Daily Show. Olivia Munn's Debut As The Daily Show's Senior Asian Correspondent I think she's trying to move on from G4.
  16. The role they gave her is both ironic and played out. The trailer makes her Mikaela in the wild west, or a modern call girl with a funny accent.
  17. I understand the reasoning plot-wise. But I was focusing on the amount of violence and adult content they were planning in the Sentinels (if most of what was in the novels was actually planned to be animated). How would they get away with showing that kind of material without being censored?
  18. This is one of the things I'm puzzled about in what was completed for the Sentinels and what ended up in the novels. In short, it got worse, and in some cases extremely violent and mature to show on American TV in the 80s. For instance, the part where the Invid blew up a bunch of Tirol civilians after sealing them in a building. And, of course, everything involving Minmei later in the novels. I mention that because, supposedly, the material in the novels were going to be animated at some point. Yeah, like they would really get away showing stuff like that, regardless of money.
  19. I agree with Iron Man.
  20. I like Zinjo's patches, but I don't understand the references for entry #1. Is it Macross and Code Geass?
  21. I loved Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy VI on the SNES. On the NES, Master Blaster and Rambo (a poor man's Metal Gear, which I wish I knew more about back then instead).
  22. Beyond getting some type of closure from the continuation of the novels, what are people really missing out on? The tidbits I've been able to gather made the it sound dark & bleak to ridiculous & magical to the point where they just didn't care in the first place & phoning it in.

  24. Mmmm, cellular peptide cake, with mmmmmint frosting. But Shadow Chronicles did rely on techno babble, so the raid was truly a success.
  25. I started getting embarrassed once the ostrich racing manager was introduced. Was there ever a character like that in the games?
