  1. So why did they reveal something in AX if they didn't want news about it to spread? This being the Internet age, it's very hard to keep anything said publicly secret without making a scene. Screw loyalty and etc., this would be something a company would want everyone to know and not keep as privileged information. That is, unless they have done very little to get things rolling for this secret project, say like getting Taks to agree to take a risk with it. Notice how HG's collaborators for Robotech productions rarely support them in any way.
  2. Poor Jonah Hex. Oh well.
  3. Many fans have been more militant about a TV show recently, particularly against people like us. I call it envy since HG keeps making them wait year after year on money sinkholes.
  4. It would not take this long to come up with anything new with the story, LAM, if those rights actually meant anything.
  5. Nintendo Doesn't Want To Criminalize Obsessed Fans
  6. Wouldn't WB know by now what those licensing rights really amount to, especially with how they've been treating the LAM recently? They would not be so silent about the movie if they had more confidence in it.
  7. With Bender finally being the focus of an episode this season, here's an epic beatdown with Robocop.
  8. You might be right. Just like AX2010, they're getting just an hour on Thursday, the first day and nothing else so far, to fill up time. That mystery project might be treated like that Lebron James show that just happened; 55 minutes of nostalgia and then a flash of Sera enough to get people saying, "One more year! One more year!" again. http://comic-con.org/cci/cci10_prog_thu.php '> http://comic-con.org/cci/cci10_prog_thu.php
  9. I still don't get it. They should just give the people who attended Anime Expo for other, bigger reasons what they want.
  10. This needs to be said - X-Xocets' Robotech Skull Knights project and any other film-based project are probably screwed now if it's seen as a threat or distraction to this mystery production HG is planning. Considering all the embarrassment that came to the last group that got the shaft, which was very screwed up to me, maybe discouraging like minded people's hopes early on is more humane.
  11. Don't forget the money. Microsoft and Warner Bros. were loaded and could afford it for franchises with strong brand recognition.
  12. It doesn't sound like a fair deal. Tatsunoko, as the only company in the animation industry, would have to shoulder a lot of the responsibility while HG leads the project from afar. It's also a bit ironic that the projected release date for this feature is about a year from the time it was announced.
  13. Maybe it was on the robotechespanol talkshoe.
  14. Remember to follow the naming scheme used for their characters: -Generic first name, an occupation ending in -er for the last name ex. Fred Carpenter -Generic or foreign first name, the last name of an established character/family
  15. I will just put this out there, why Sera? This could finally be Mospeada II and such, but what makes her special to focus a side story on?
  16. I didn't like the V-Giny episode very much because with Zapp Brannigan. It made him more creepy and desperate than usual.
  17. Nevertheless, I'd follow what news sources say or not say about recent events. Bloggers, twitters, and podcasters may find it significant enough to talk about, but if places like Anime News Network don't, it probably doesn't mean anything. If you want to be more positive about it, it probably doesn't mean anything, yet. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/convention/2010/anime-expo '> http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/convention/2010/anime-expo Then people will say HG is waiting for a bigger event to reveal something to blow people's minds, like Comic-Con. Someone please clarify to me the order of importance of yearly conventions for something like this.
  18. But I thought it really summed up how a franchise goes from 85 episodes to a scrap of artwork to attract people... and a box.
  19. I disagree, that happened because most of the staff had been working continuously on content for the franchise since 1987, starting with The Next Generation. As someone who watched the journey to the end, it must have been very stressful to come up with a season's worth of storylines year after year. And remember, some of those years had two shows running at the same time as well as a movie in production. A breaking point was inevitable. I believe Robotech is facing a very unique situation, all caused by Harmony Gold themselves, that other franchises have never dealt with and probably won't because they actually have their act together.
  20. Honestly, I can see now why the panel was put on the Thursday timeslot - they didn't have a damn thing to talk about and their current thoughts on the industry have isolated them from the other companies. What an 80s mentality they have. Also, an unintentional burn towards Tommy Yune by Kramer. I thought Tommy was actually Carl's successor this whole time. Does that mean everything he's done for Robotech has been BS and they knew it?
  21. Exactly. For instance, where's the love for Peter Keefe, the guy who created Voltron, who died this year? Yes, it was called Marketing Principles.
  22. From my marketing class.
  23. So the status quo has been maintained once again, even at Robotech's 25th anniversary. No offense to anyone who enjoyed it, but it sounded like what they say and do every year; lots of big plans for the immediate future but no results and self congratulations from getting lucky in 1985.
  24. The new season just started last week on Comedy Central, and it's funny as always.
  25. These were the only ones I could find about the panel. http://twitter.com/RamenX/status/17529994727 '> http://twitter.com/RamenX/status/17529994727 http://twitter.com/colonydrop '> http://twitter.com/colonydrop Maybe not that many people believe it anymore since they've been using excuses like that for years.
