All Things Video Games Thread: II
Einherjar replied to Wanzerfan's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Good thing games like these have an offline mode. I'd be in trouble if I bought something like MAG or Warhawk, maybe any Halo game too. -
Because of some bad experiences from playing the first one on Battle.net, I'm mostly interested in the campaign. People are really hardcore online.

All Things Video Games Thread: II

Hopefully, I'm just thinking crazy, but to everyone playing Starcraft II these days, remember that there are other games out there to play online. I've been noticing less people to play with on Red Dead Redemption and White Knight Chronicles. Mix it up a little. -
Since everyone has been given a year to wait for this project, wild speculation was bound to happen to keep interest up. It's going to get worse no matter what by nature.
-
For everyone's sake, maybe MEMO should stop leading people on like that. Only a handful of people on the Internet are really making this secret project a big deal. News sources don't even care.

Tactics Ogre, the game that helped inspire Final Fantasy Tactics, is coming back on the PSP. http://kotaku.com/5593647/the-ultimate-version-of-tactics-ogre-coming-to-psp '> http://kotaku.com/5593647/the-ultimate-version-of-tactics-ogre-coming-to-psp -
I don't know if this is retro enough for this thread, but for the last few years, I've been seeing copies of Seven Kingdoms II: The Fryhtan Wars at the 99 Cent Store. It's decent, I guess.

Here's a weird thing I experienced while doing errands around town. I went to the 99 cent store and came across some individual DVDs of anime released by ADV back in the day. I decided to look further to see what else was in stock and found the first volume of their release of Macross (the one with the dub with Mari Iijima and the other bells and whistles). For all the promoting ADV and Harmony Gold did for that, it's pretty sad to see it end up this way. It's possible that the rest of ADV's unsold stock of merchandise, like the various Robotech DVD releases that came along over the years, can also be found somewhere in the various dollar stores in the U.S. I don't know, the whole thing made me glad I invested in the Animeigo release at the very beginning. And no, I didn't buy it. I bought the first volume of Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor instead.

"The Late Philip J. Fry" in a nutshell; time travel, eternal love, and a very special kill. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gtLsQTMaLw

This is the part I was concerned about. They might not let you, or anyone say whatever and stuff with their collaboration.

If someone is still having fun with Robotech beyond reminiscing about abandoned plotlines and stuff about it that has yet to be addressed in 3 to 25 years, I'd like to know. For all the commotion people were making about this year, the 25th anniversary celebration is turning out to be a lot of BS. Everyone is doing the same thing they do on any other regular year, from the convention panels, edited recordings, and bland after panel reports. And now it's BS focusing on a mystery project that might be ready for the franchise's 26th anniversary... maybe. I still believe the celebration people were looking for already happened two years ago and counting from a show that pretty much only heavily invested/bias Robotech fans on the Internet had harsh criticisms about. Oh, and shippers.

Typing /dance on the chat log while playing still makes the marines dance in the full game. Damn catchy "A Shotgun, A Zerg, And You" song.

You serious, Freiflug88? It sounds like something a certain company would want to derail, especially with info from here.
-
Yes, and the news/response outside the usual channels is as if HG was not even there at all this year. Interest sure has plummeted.

I hope Hasbro knows that one of the reasons War for Cybertron did well was because it went as far as possible from the Bayformers version without alienating people who liked it. I was really hoping they would do a serious take on G1 without the silly stuff from the cartoon (giant purple griffin, B.O.T.) and live movies.
-
I'm starting to get worried about this new continuity for some reason.
-
The Comic-Con panel was pretty much like every other panel they've done. And that's why it was scheduled on Thursday.
-
What happened to the G1 inspired stuff from the game?

Please look at the post dated 9.15.2008. It's called "Levi watches Macross Frontier so you and I don't have to. I think this means I owe him a cake or something": http://sdf5x.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html '> http://sdf5x.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html My criticism about the 365 thing was that, sometimes a cake is just a cake.

The Transformers 3 Thread--A Michael Bay Thread
Einherjar replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I prefer War for Cybertron over these movies. That game was what the movies didn't strive for. -
Be careful about using "editing" in the context of this series. Another completed, yet unknown to Western audience, series might be getting royally screwed again.

For anyone who doesn't know yet, Adam Baldwin has been on NBC's Chuck for the last 3 years.
-
Something felt off about this week's episode, featuring Leonardo da Vinci. Still funny, but I don't know.
-
I agree, especially since there's going to be 365 days of analysis for all this stuff by JLS. I thought he did that sort of thing already.

I still don't get it. Did I miss anything significant that happened in the 3-4 year gap since Shadow Chronicles that wasn't titled Macross? They act as though all those years of silence didn't happen. For Zor's sake, Rick Hunter is still getting sucked into a black hole and possibly being mutated into Tobey Maguire!
