I liked their rendition of G1 Transformers and public domain films too.

Sounds like someone needs to play Xenosaga, all three of them, to understand the horrors of long cutscenes. -
Actually, I thought not standing by said works after people from all over the world bought them thinking they had weight as canon was even lower.

Remember, in 25 years the only thing that's remained official are the original, who am I kidding, the only 85 episodes with no conclusion. Grand epic storyline and everything. The rest exists to make more money off it in the laziest, replicable ways possible.

Never mind, this is the Internet. Go to town with it.

I wouldn't go to such extremes to show your love for a TV show, yui1107. It's not realistic.

I think the live action phase by Hollywood is pretty much over now. Keanu Reeves Discusses Live-Action Cowboy Bebop

Remember a couple of pages ago when I said I saw the the first volume of the ADV Films version in a Dollar Store? What a waste.

God, this show is still going on? Back when I was in high school I was really interested in how they would tell the story of Clark Kent's secret teen years and such, but now it's more like a joke that's gone on too long. Spoilers

Now this is dedication. Duke Nukem Forever preorder -
If it's not getting attention by more creditable sources, I wouldn't believe it. Stuff like this happened with the Space Station Liberty podcast, and look where that ended up.

I was playing the first Starcraft recently, and realized that it is almost possible to recreate the original missions (maybe just the Terran campaign) with the Map editor. Balance issues aside, if you could rip most of the sound effects and dialogue from the first game and limit the kinds of units you can produce per mission, it could be. Anyone into mods hear about a similar plan already at work?

Again, the confidence people have for those running this show is amazing. On their own merits, they have not done enough to prove they can maintain their own franchise, especially when they have to ask permission from other companies to get some ideas going or protect their "investments." Most important of all, they don't actually make stuff themselves.

I don't know, only having the trademark and such for another person's work doesn't sound like enough leverage to get any negotiations made. It's trademark squatting.

This year turned out to be a good season despite some shortcomings. I wish we wouldn't have to wait for November or something for a holiday episode and the rest of planned episodes next year.

Don't forget that only a handful of characters survived the Macross Saga because of story changes at the last episode.

Damn, and I recently took most of the floppy disks stockpiling in my house to the e-waste recycling center.

FURIOUS OVER NEW CONAN (Conan the Barbarian remake)
Einherjar replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I wonder if enough blood and carnage in the movie can change a lot of the backlash New Conan is getting. -
I chalk it up to the same deceptive promotion from a guy that attaches himself to the same 3 TV shows people obsess about that always happens here. I know this is nitpicking a 3 minute segment, but these days this is pretty much how most news about Robotech gets out.
-
Hmm, to me it feels really inappropriate for Tommy Yune to talk about something someone else made, which in turn his predecessor did for the original material. And oh my God, he practically said he and co. are pretty much leading people on about the ongoing Robotech "storyline" with Rick Hunter and etc. in the most casual way possible. It IS total BS. What a morning local news show fluff piece.

Then what was news regarding Shadow Rising and the live action movie in the previous years? Those should have been formal announcements considering the reports made for them. Or not, after getting postponed and stuff. Although vague, it gave a hint that they and others might have been doing something. And didn't Shadow Rising have a projected release date the first time around or other times? What makes this year's panel presentations different? If they weren't formal announcements for anything, why did they spend the time and effort to make an appearance back then and even now? All I'm saying is people may have been reporting "maybes" all this time.

Does anyone know where I can find spare parts to repair some damage for a Sixaxis controller? One of the trigger buttons stopped working correctly, and after dismantling it, the problem may be a loop spring that broke. Some guy at Radio Shack said to try hobby stores, but are there any other options?

And these days, I think that is why things like MEMO1DOMINION and the robotechespanol podcast exists, or at least elevated in importance by the associations they have made. Before them was things like the Space Station Liberty podcast and people like Darkwater before they understood what was going on. But, I don't know if Protoculture Addicts also fits anywhere in this pattern. And then, there was the entire anime industry and the heavy influence Carl Macek had in it. At least, that was how I saw it prior to his death. I find it interesting that news outlets don't even care about this new unknown production announced this year. No convention panel reports from anyone about it from those who usually report on them, who are not obsessed fans. That ban worthy picture should have been more significant to talk about compared to the previous years, like when they announced were doing Shadow Rising and a Hollywood movie with no physical evidence that things were happening. It's as if they were forced to put up with it this whole time.

So yeah, this is out of topic, but I felt there was appropriate satire for this situation as well. I'll leave it up to you. http://www.tvsquad.com/2010/08/27/matt-groening-mocks-the-fox-network-on-futurama-video/

WORST Sci-Fi TV series of all time.....
Einherjar replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I liked Jack of All Trades more than Cleopatra 2525, even though it had Mini Me starring as Napoleon and the scariest interpretation of Lewis and Clark.- 279 replies
