That does not sound like a very unique resume for someone HG would handpick for a Creative Something or Other these days, or back when the decision was made. You may have described almost every person working in the comic book industry that hasn't stood out from the rest. At this point, maybe anyone else could have been put in the same position with similar results a la Shadow Chronicles. The only difference is that people would be obsessing about a different person of questionable credentials but given a position with a cool, if now meaningless, sounding name.

All I can say is that just because someone watched Robotech, and maybe Transformers, a bunch of times does not make them an expert in designing ships and such that should realistically transform. And that is why you don't just hire anyone who can draw to keep up the illusion that a franchise has any kind of consistency when it never did.

A reminder that season 6 will be released on R1 DVD and Blu-Ray Dec. 21. http://www.amazon.com/Futurama-Five-Matt-Groening/dp/B004696M94/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1291708837&sr=8-1 '> http://www.amazon.com/Futurama-Five-Matt-Groening/dp/B004696M94/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1291708837&sr=8-1

And now the 6-7 month wait starts.

I'm watching Bender's Game on Comedy Central tonight. I started to lose track when everyone ended up in Cornwood. I thought the transition would be much smoother between the dark matter and Lord of the Rings/D&D plotlines.

Congratulations to Manny Pacquiao for his fight last weekend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvCCuuuJhd4 '> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvCCuuuJhd4 Also set to appear in Fight Night Champion. -
Judging how Robotech's 25th anniversary really turned out, it must mean "Come back next year to find out," every year, for anything involving Robotech and probably Macross.

I hope you're not thinking like that because Arnie ended up as governor of California or something. -
I disagree, there is that new vaguely defined production set to come out next year or later and probably a documentary about the delicate process of editing 3 shows together and the subsequent fallout from it. Sure, it's not new and not really set in stone, but it's the most significant sign that this franchise is trying to come back from the brink, with all of the stress that Shadow Chronicles also had in anticipation.

They got Dominic Keating/Malcolm Reed to be in their movie? It's sure been a while since Enterprise got canceled. I liked how Watson described this story as something he left out about Holmes' career in the trailer. But how are you supposed to keep a story involving a T-Rex, a dragon, and octopus destroying a city secret? -
If I remember correctly, from "Secret of Evermore," at a spot right before the ruler of a kingdom is about to send you to prison, roughly: "But first, would you like to save your progress?" Choice one: "Yes." Choice two: "I'd rather talk to my lawyer."

That was probably said in a convention panel one year (pick any one) or the Space Station Liberty podcast, but look what came from it. It's important to compare what people representing a company say and what they actually accomplish on a yearly basis.

I finally got my first platinum trophy. The game? White Knight Chronicles.

Hmm, damn. http://twitter.com/RobotechNews/status/29212023923 '> http://twitter.com/RobotechNews/status/29212023923 So that side-story thing is really all that's coming in the foreseeable future unless someone decides to go back to comic books.

Now that you mention it, unlike anime, was it a big deal for people to know the individual people responsible for shows like Thundercats and G.I.Joe back then? I'm not just talking about voice actors, but the other behind-the-scenes people. For instance, knowing that Matt Groening was the creator of The Simpsons and Futurama is pretty important these days. In other words, was there ever a wide-spread priority for people to know who the brainchild for Transformers and Thundercats were?

You know what was missing from Red Dead Redemption? Zombies. Red Dead Redemption DLC Gets Standalone Disc Release Also, I like that Rockstar decided to put all the DLC into a disc. I'm more comfortable with hard copies of games and game add-ons. -
Isn't that pretty much saying when people were younger they had little to no idea where their entertainment really came from and didn't care because it all looked the same anyway and in a language they could understand?
-
So more cheap @$$ anime-like alternatives by HG that the rest of the world has to put up with in the foreseeable future, by default. And continued success and survival through special circumstances, as well as getting a free ride when something involving Macross comes up.
-
As someone who wasn't there to drink from the Protoculture cup years ago, I need to ask because of the clear disconnect there is now: Why does HG expect people like me to believe any of this crap when they clearly don't these days (or at least don't care about it as much as those addicted to the stuff)?
-
Now that's just being too gullible.

I'm more interested in the Earth Defense Force game than the movie.

I have two of the really long expendable lightsabers companies were selling from The Phantom Menace. This was before people realized they were playing hazards and changed the materials and length.

I don't know, when things get desperate enough people's attitudes about such divisions can change very quickly. And not just in the minds of fans. I believe when it gets really bad, companies/franchises will do what they can to stay alive. Follow the money if you will. ... oh, and I thought Tommy Yune and co. (if there really is a co.) was trying to do that already in subtle (or not) ways anyway. EDIT: My mistake, he and others were making it more like the original material or something years ago with re-redits and stuff. But Shadow Chronicles and the possibilities in the continuing story could be just broad strokes away from going towards this.
