Wow, I haven't watch this week's episode yet, but looking ahead with my cable subscriber for information (Comcast) on it gave me a really strange rating. Alongside "V = Moderate Violence," there was "S = Some sexual situations." Granted I've been out of the loop for Cartoon Network shows and Clone Wars is showing before that, but is that unusual for shows not appearing on Adult Swim or Toonami these days?

Anyway, Protoculture (in Robotech), an entire universe's go to excuse to promote drug abuse. I'll stick to the people definition since that has more of a future these days, despite them all being dead and stuff.

Has the show's staff talked about the future of the franchise after this year/season?

It's still a huge improvement from the 80's Lion-O, I think.

Shoji Kawamori "created" Macross: load of bull?
Einherjar replied to danth's topic in Movies and TV Series
Please indulge me for this one time. On the other side of the world: Macross - Kawamori - Ishiguro - Mikimoto - etc. = The Sentinels The Sentinels = Epic Fail That's literally what happens when all of them are out of the equation and replaced by random people trying to do the same thing. -
They must have planned this well in advance, because I forgot it was Shark Week. Futurama also did the same thing for this week's episode with a four-dimensional space whale.

Now the only things to worry about is the show's regular intro with theme and CN's continued promotion of the show. I think the lack of the latter killed the He-Man revival years ago.

Remember that there's a new documentary about it coming with the new DVD set. Might have more of the same.

Sure, in context he might be sending a ton of people to their deaths to save earth in a side story, but "Rick Hunter" is back!
-
Doesn't Tony Oliver do more than voice work these days? Also, if he's getting involved, expect "Rick Hunter - In Name Only" a la Shadow Chronicles.

Felt like the whole kingdom was too harsh to Lion-O before their hubris taught them better.

So they're like Mini-cons for Voltron? WEP really should have known better when planning this.
-
Screw Voltron Force! This is how you do an 80's revival.

Ah, taking Journey's song to heart I see.

Oh well, happy 26th anniversary Robo-tech, and 5th for Shadow Chronicles. For the fans who really, really, really can't let go by this point: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5I-SbwCHJ80 Be glad I didn't post the Glee version.

I bet over 50% of that audience at Comic-Con already bought multiple copies of the Robotech series over the years, and now they, including fans who lurk around robotech.com, should be excited to buy it again?
-
Unless there's anything bigger than Comic-Con where Robotech is going to be in the rest of this year, there can be no more excuses anymore; where's that long, overdue buzz for the franchise, side stories, remixed soundtrack and such that they've been promoting for half a year now? Thirty seconds of raw footage doesn't cut it for people out of the loop? Is another DVD set really it?

The Amazing Spider-Man, on Blu-Ray/DVD Nov. 9, 2012
Einherjar replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Did Bono work on the music in the trailer? Anyway, I don't know if I can go through the origin story again, even with Gwen Stacy just replacing Mary Jane's role this time around. -
Funny someone mentioned the Robotech Recliner of Rage segment, because guess what's coming in October? Robotech: The Quadruple (or so) Dip Collection Among other things, fans will finally get their damn Robotech: The Movie footage. Thank A&E Entertainment for this, $99 a 'job. And just in case certain people are watching this thread, seriously? How many times has the show been re-released by now, including the various websites where the series is (or was mysteriously after this post) available with online streaming legally?

I wanted to add something about them then focusing on China and something about knockoffs, but it wasn't worth planning out since it's Robo-tech.

I see why 1st wasn't able to post for a very long time. Obsessing about a third of it that HG really never cared about to people who really don't care as much isn't going to change it. This segment of the 80's has been dead for a long time.
