Just take all the confusing crap that happened in Robotech as seriously as the people now running the franchise; not at all from the looks of it. Consistency < Macross Saga < OMG teh Rick Hunter!!!

Exactly, people here treat it like crap, but actually watching, researching and knowing stuff about it really helps you understand why people treat it like crap these days beyond fans being purist about the whole thing. That's what I got from taking the time to learn about it, at least. For example, at first I knew it was a sham, then after learning about crap like the SDF-2 "debates," the treatment of novels, why they would hire someone like Tommy Yune, etc., I understood why it's a sham in a legitimate way.

Even if they have their own theater, they better not let it get to their heads. I'm guessing it's not a documentary about making anime. It's a documentary about editing anime into a legitimate franchise and its ties to an industry that's moved past it with far more credibility.

They also did it with the Futurama cast before it came back. I don't know, with the way things are going for this show, it's kind of depressing that the Simpsons crew agreed to cuts.

Netflicks and the rest might fix problems with new editions of films and shows. You won't have to pay full price for the same ride. -
If only this was like the 80s and everything HG intended to do for the Shadow Saga was done in novels and/or comics to make up for that. Just avoid extremely grim, dark elements and most importantly character derailment.

Stupid Emmys, I thought it was pre-recorded and the crew would be on for their categories. Oh well, Season 6B DVDs coming December 20. And it's still not cancelled. http://dvd.ign.com/articles/119/1197338p1.html The Simpsons on the other hand, who knows.

Man, all of this would be less one sided if there was more than a 90 minute movie to base on after five years and people's imaginations running sometimes OMG WTF wild.

But hey, if HG's goal in the film was just to establish that Janice and Ariel are women, then mission accomplished! Tommy and/or the Korean animators HG hired can draw women, be thankful for that. Those other characters also benefited from character development in their shows to tie into their designs or the toned down any perceived similarities in them. Good luck getting that here any time soon. That's probably an unfair comparison. He's a professional.

Except for the face, didn't Maia's character design in Shadow Chronicles have the same identical body proportions with Janice and Ariel, making it irritatingly explicit when they were shown together? And all other examples were either background characters and huge (statuette) like Jean Grant, right? Slim pickings to me because there was a lack of variety. Maia could have been chosen by default.

That's not true; even if everything else is hit or miss, in the tangible future they're getting the whole series on DVD... again. That's not nothing, it's everything the franchise is/has always been in a non-ironic sense.

Not that I really care, but is it true that Shadow Chronicles is finally going to have a Spanish dub sometime soon, if not already?

That too, but I thought Galactica was more painful because they did a whole lot more. Here, imagine if the the reruns started right after finding the empty Book of Omens.

Robotech is anime, but Harmony Gold doesn't work in the anime industry. The people they farm out their animation work to actually do.

Yeah, I did not appreciate the fact that to fully enjoy Shadow Chronicles, there was required material needed just to understand it; not only the show, but the novels and comics, which are no longer canon, as well. All in all, it and future works are a really huge investment that hasn't paid off yet.

There's also the fact that people now know HG's "creative process" and they'll have a hard time repeating it and being taken seriously with it.

I just don't see the value in enhancements that just raises my risk of getting tinnitus and visual seizures. But the first LOTR extended editions are probably the only ones I can justify.
