  1. It's been on youtube legally for years now through Manga Entertainment.
  2. Sorry, I'm a smart consumer these days.
  3. Did the survivors go to E! studios in the original? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vAvmyTvFJ4
  4. And you know what's truly depressing about this whole thing? In one night, or premiere in this case, all the criticism, ridicule, and just plain badmouthing Robotech and Harmony Gold has gotten over the years regarding their handling of foreign animation suddenly became relevant again by the content of their new production. Honestly, I don't see them being able to pull this off during a normal convention panel due to the usual reactions to it. They wouldn't get away with it at a Comic-Con. Using their own theater and having very selective invitations was the only way to give it the positive spin they wanted. I also hear that representatives from Warner Brothers were also at the event. Maybe part of the reason they did this was to impress their future partners for the LAM or some hopeful crap like that. Also, did anyone know that the company that made this new documentary also worked on the Shadow Chronicles featurette Birth of a Sequel?
  5. Please indulge me mods as I spoil, for wondering lurkers, what could be in Robotech Love Live Alive. Here's A HUGE CHUNK OF IT! Mospeada Love Live Alive 1/8 Mospeada Love Live Alive 2/8 Mospeada Love Live Alive 3/8 Mospeada Love Live Alive 4/8 Mospeada Love Live Alive 5/8 Mospeada Love Live Alive 6/8 Mospeada Love Live Alive 7/8 Mospeada Love Live Alive 8/8
  6. Tim Eldred review of the documentary makes it sound cult of personality-ish.
  7. I might be out of my mind, but after this bombshell I have more respect for Voltron Force now.
  8. Spoiler alert http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fn78tdcPZx8&feature=related It's been on youtube since 2010 as well as torrents. People will be partly paying for the convenience of a "translated" version in the old school 80's style. Things never change. So congratulations Robotech fans, your next offering is another The Untold Story. Expect the crew, and the .com moderators, to milk the Carl Macek tribute aspect of the production up to eleven to get people to ignore this fact.
  9. Can't blame them when Robotech 2012 is Robotech Love Live Alive, a modern day Macekre with elements of Mospeada's epilogue OVA and new animation like The Untold Story. Jasonc and others were right all this time.
  10. Was there any talk about the documentary there? I wanted to see if there was actually any interest outside of a certain website. So far I've only seen press releases about the premiere and the A&E set. Also, my post might have been premature. There was some new information, stuff about finding out the title of the side story if you buy the new DVDs or go to future panels. That's significant, right? Whatever it is, I'll stick to Lancer's Happy AWOL Experience.
  11. But what about Robotech?
  12. There should have been more wobbly camera effects and spontaneous zooming at Lance's face to make it a BSGized Voltron. The music needed more drums or other percussion instruments added in too.
  13. Not Thor, .With ACTING
  14. Piranha started a new twitter page this month for the game, and is slowly revealing concept art and a release date piece by piece. Could this be an Unseen?
  15. After two years, something is happening with the new Mechwarrior game. http://www.piranha-g...echWarrior.html They're slowly revealing concept art and possibly a release date on the game's twitter feed.
  16. Anyone want to make bets on who Daniel, Vince, and Larmina will permanently replace as lion pilots?
  17. What I don't like about the film is that they thought it was a good idea to potentially kill off at least one of the main characters (for drama). Zarkon finally winning didn't bother me as much. For everyone here, would you watch a Voltron movie (or show) that had the guts to permanently replace the original pilots for whatever reason with new characters?
  18. They showed the trailer for Robotech 2012(a.k.a. Mospeada 0.5: Lancer's Happy AWOL Experience*) again. Also, they announced the the exclusive commentary screening in LA. *It's from "Whose Line is it Anyway?"
  19. Anyone remember when Futurama did something like this without the people controlling the robots?
  20. Gave me nightmares about the future of Voltron Force. The cadets will be replacing someone somewhere down the line, right?
  21. I think it would have more significance if it debuted during the actual 25th anniversary of the franchise and did not look like a big advertisement for the A&E DVD set coming out at the same time. In fact, it might be the most significant piece of advertisement out there at all for it. Also, anyone hear about the story of the debut of Manos: The Hands of Fate? Screw the walk-through, just make the game as interactive as the Xenosaga games; so many cutscenes that you can string them together into a DVD movie avoiding the tedious gameplay altogether while pricing it as a videogame.
  22. Poor "girl," if only it wasn't played for laughs in the show. Not that funny after watching A.I. Artificial Intelligence.
  23. You'll have to settle with another DVD set from A&E. Supposedly louder (enhanced audio) and brighter (better picture quality) than the last set with legitimate remastering work done on The Sentinels. It makes sense because that footage is actually theirs. http://www.crunchyro...-bonus-material
  24. Why can't it be okay to just say Harmony Gold and Robotech stretched willing suspension of disbelief beyond its breaking point after 26 years? I'm sorry if people invested a lot of time and money into it, but the creative forces behind the scenes are pretty much implying it as projects drag on. They make Fire Bomber more believable at this point.
