  1. Maybe consciousness develops the longer a clone survives. Their life expectancy was probably predicted to be very insanely low over the course of the war to ever get to that point though. And when they do, like in the 501st, it might get more depressing for the clones the closer the show gets to Episode III territory. I thought the ending of the episode was just a sad reminder of how things are really going to end up for most the characters in the show.
  2. Happy Thanksgiving
  3. Seven year wait time, huh? Great use of the last three years for the franchise. They're being so secretive about it, it's almost like the major players don't give a crap about it. But surely it will all pay off when it eventually comes out... for whoever is still alive by then. And that's only considering the LAM.
  4. Whatever the set is being called, it's missing an asterisk: Robotech - The Complete Collection* *Official and complete as of 2011 legal considerations
  5. It's better to drop a risky and maybe premature project as soon as possible rather than spend money and resources unnecessarily exploring it further and even completing it. Not all franchises are as desperate for content as this one.
  6. That's why I'm looking forward to this week's episode.
  7. Actually, Mav and Mckeever are two different people. One's a fanboy and one is a fanboy posing as a professional in... something. Okay, bad example. Only one of them is being paid to make a fool of himself for a cartoon on a regular basis. Convention panels and podcasts included.
  8. I'm not sure. The animation is crap, but at least the showrunners are behind it until the end of its current run. All of this is leading to something big at the end, right? Most importantly, something people will be able to see within their lifetimes?
  9. What a useless adult in a franchise with useless "professionals."
  10. I miss the days when this franchise took itself seriously. This isn't satire. I guess it's easy to imagine what a season 2 will be like now. For the love of God, please don't get renewed.
  11. Pacific Rim is not the Robotech LAM under a different name, how's that? Find another project that sounds vaguely, and very loosely, similar to Robotech to obsess about that could be the LAM in disguise, fanmen.
  12. So what have they been doing in recent years with that money and influence? Their website hasn't been updated since 2009 and the most you hear from them is when employees do convention rounds, another Robotech DVD set is released, or when some legal dispute regarding material in Macross pops up (Battletech). I'd imagine it's really hard for normal people to see what the company does exactly these days beyond news like this. Also, I assumed that they invested money rather than had an active role in the production of stuff like Shaka Zulu. Robotech, and maybe Macross if they ever got the chance, would be a totally different beast for their business. And as stuff like The Sentinels showed, money isn't enough to solve the persistent problems Robotech keeps finding itself in. And yes, their legal team is very effective, probably more so than the people supposed to be running a certain franchise. Yet like money, it hasn't helped the company or Robotech either.
  13. I think you missed a very important characteristic with HG - they're poor. What good is a compromise when HG can't do a damn thing with said characteristics, or at least something that's worthwhile and professional by themselves? Besides, a lot of the real work of such a compromise would be done by other organizations, just like all the Robotech DVDs and Shadow Chronicles.
  14. Between ending up still a delinquent or a mutated abomination, it's a no brainer. Team Colonel Shikishima!
  15. Wouldn't the recent success of Macross prove that they really don't need Harmony Gold's help for anything either? On the other side, wouldn't Robotech's current status prove how desperate HG is, by comparison, for anyone to take them seriously?
  16. To me, what's important is that the distribution business is changing to the point where certain important areas could be taken over by other, well established companies. There could be less of a need for a middleman to release anime overseas when the companies that originally had a hand in it are completely capable of doing it themselves. There's also less of a chance for companies like a certain one to go overboard and have enough legal influence to do more than they really should be able to do to maintain a monopoly.
  17. I've seen a lot of stuff end up in The Dollar Store, that's all.
  18. He's been doing that podcast for years, DarkHawk, and it really hasn't amount to anything. Not that you're going to listen or come back to this tread anyway. Isn't it obvious? They're preempting the Macross 30th anniversary because all their plans are mostly going to be ignored by real quality work if something happens.
  19. Oh, ok. Hope no one will be expecting the real part 2, 3 (Shadow Rising) or 0.5 (Love Live Alive) afterwards anytime soon.
  20. They're probably splitting it. Roobtech: "Las Crónicas de la Sombra" (The Shadow Chronicles) There's a nasty surprise waiting for people at the end of part 2.
  21. Sorry, I interpreted that wrong. I thought LLA was being promoted as the sequel and the release date was misinformed instead of Shadow Chronicles being cut in half and sold in chunks. That is screwed up. It sounds like price discrimination and stuff at work. Or even worse, 80's editing.
