I thought people would have a bigger problem with the CG during the car chase.

I have a feeling that is going to be a major deal breaker for a lot of people, among the other ones so far, when it does get revealed.

How about the studio doing the new animation? That's much more important than who is going to release their crap.

Damn, those logos really are expensive. It's Nike expensive, except without the dignity that comes with that logo when you use it.

Sadly, they are real people willing to play along year by year and longer than most people would like to. Plus huge egos. That's how I see it at least.

I only bring it up becuase these days I just see it as a convenient distraction from Harmony Gold's real and serious problems in general, even with the throw away merchandise that come and go all the time. Feelings get hurt and egos raise through the roof from the day to day "debates" about the smallest things about the franchise thanks to fandom politics, but at the end of the day Robotech still has not gone anywhere in the post Shadow Chronicles era which started in 2006-2007. If you want to be generous, you could say it's actually been going in circles endlessly focusing on material that came out between 1985 to 1985 and 2006. All I see are bad excuses for maintaining the rights to 3 seperate TV shows and pretending to be in a medium. Also, nostalgia is overrated.

They do have one thing we don't have though, fandom politics.

It single handedly brought anime to the West! Screw Starblazers and Voltron, it was all Robotech baby! Carl Macek was a visionary who made Japanese works actually work in America. The originals were garbage without his expertise. It deserves so much more respect and free passes even if it takes decades to finish the story! At least seven years is the normal wait time to make a Hollywood adaptation, just look at Transformers, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc. The LAM is still in production even without a director, actors, and permanent staff coming and going all the time. That's how Hollywood works, believe me. We only enjoy Macross and anime because of Robotech, you elitists! We Will Win should've won an Emmy! And God, Robotech Love Live Alive, Tommy Yune has done it again! Animation work for Robotech productions are done in house! Parmount quaking in their boots! Anatole Leonard was a hero not a fascist! Boats in China! Mystery Box! Not minding the store! Gangbusters! Convention Tours! "Aliens!" NO GUTS NO GLORY! ... Is it considered cheap shots if most of it is true?

From what you said about the tracks, one was already circulating on the Internet for years prior to this release and another had been released before in France and other releases. I assumed that it meant the new and never before released tracks promoted in this soundtrack are actually considered “new” and “unreleased” because they were never released in the U.S. if at all before. It’s like the deal with the calendar that just came out, with artwork considered “new” when they could be art from the OSM that had never been associated with Robotech before and never seen by fans in the West. I also mentioned the DVD re-releases because the only things that actually changes between them are enhancements to the video and audio quality. Since some of the tracks have been available in some form in the past, wouldn’t it be fair to call this soundtrack, if at least some of it, an enhanced re-release?

So some of the tracks are "new" instead of new, in terms of calender art, and/or, in terms of DVD set, a re-release with touch ups?

How about just effort? And if it's a continuing series/franchise, continuity storywise and production wise? Also, I realized that at the moment a comic book reboot for Robotech would not be a good idea right now because it would look like they were following Macross the First. Someone will probably have to do a talkshoe podcast to address it.

You could argue, in fact one person probably will, that Harmony Gold is doing better than others if only because they're posers in the anime business.

It sounds like something that The Sharper Image would have sold back in the day. Also, for a very manly robot Cleatus sure has gotten his ass kicked over the years. Still though, at least it's not a gopher like on NASCAR on Fox.

Probably the only reason why people cared about Shadow Chronicles in the first place (now 5 years old by the way).

As with everything involving Robotech these days, that's not really interesting after seeing the same stuff going in circles years down the line. Sorry for sounding depressing, but at this rate a lot of people may be dead before anything significant actually happens.

AKIRA LIVE ACTION MOVIE = Life Support?
Einherjar replied to Macross007's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Or maybe like Akira Toriyama was when Dragon Ball live action happened, silently polite about it while maybe dying a little inside. -
Here's the background image from the site. Could this be the main colony of the 29th fleet?

Cover Girl was killed in the first movie. The trailer for this movie makes it look like it could get worse.

It's like Gold Rush Alaska. Also, if there are plans to put the series on Blu-Ray one day, or at least 1/3 of it, someone else is beating them to it.

Oh well, at least we'll always have Kanye's take while WB makes up their minds about this again. -
I didn't know that robot had a name all this time.
