  1. Probably the funniest videogame fandub I've seen in a while. Plus, they know a lot about the game mechanics. NSFW, language LGWI - Recettear
  2. Was there a non-disclosure clause on that C&D or something? What do you know?
  3. Sigh... https://www.facebook.com/Robotechx/posts/10151970662722872 The video in the link has nothing about the the project except for someone (the cameraman) asking about it right as everyone was trying to leave at the end. But if he knew, why did the cameraman even have to ask on video?
  4. Unless people really want someone to focus their Internet rage at, I really don't see the point in needing to know anymore. Beyond a legal miracle, Valkyrie Project is over. It might be for the better to just let it go and use this as a warning for all future work. Besides, in about a year we might be doing this for the next fan work that catches on with the Internet with nothing really learned from this fiasco.
  5. Dammit http://www.cnn.com/2014/01/27/world/asia/china-jade-rabbit-moon-rover-goodnight/index.html?hpt=hp_t2
  6. Why would Creavision risk saying something potentially slanderous if it wasn't true? First they say it was HG, now it's BW who sent the C&D. Make up your professional minds already.
  7. Seriously, where were some of you people when the last fan production that got the shaft? In retrospect, a lot of this isn't new. But then again, the pattern apparantly repeated itself just a couple of days ago, so I can't be too harsh about it.
  8. I think they'll take the easier route and shift the blame to Big West and Studio Nue before that happens, Jasonc.
  9. If this is your first experience seeing a fan production get a C&D, please Google "UEG Productions." I believe they got as far as a teaser and the crew never recovered from it. http://www.robotechx.com/news-content/26-news-general/252-genesis-ends-artemis-begins.html And to put into context, just almost year after this announcement, people moved on to Project Valkyrie and essentially, and unfortunately, went through same process as UEG, except in half the time. Apparantly, most people forgot about it by then? [insert End of the Circle joke here or something] So maybe in a year people might be doing this all over again.
  10. Go to a convention panel, like the one this weekend. They'll make up something.
  11. Credit goes to Zor Primus. But if you want to be technical about it, thank the person who took the video and posted it online with permission...Memo
  12. Now wouldn't it be awkward in hindsight if there was a video of it...
  13. My God, I was being borderline paranoid when I posted by doubts. I really hope it doesn't escalate further than that, because I'm assuming it can get worse at this point if the parties wanted to?
  14. I'd start working on that blog we talked about a while back, Duel.
  15. I hope most of those backers knew that before collectively committing almost 1.5 million for it. And that doesn't include the people who preordered it afterwards.
  16. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rrpgt/robotech-rpg-tacticstm/posts/716024 Sounds like a normal Kickstarter now.
  17. For a while I've wondered what it really took for HG to ok this, behind the scenes of course, when they seemed very protective about their property in the past. It just seems too simple for them to let this go without some sort of catch.
  18. For some reason I have this nagging feeling that all of this seems to be going through way too easily. Maybe it's from past experience hearing about other fan productions that never got the chance to get this far due to behind the scenes stuff, but I keep thinking somewhere down the line something is going to pop up about this production that will change the perspective on this project in a bad way.
  19. There is a huge difference between the two as this crossover comic, at least for the Robotech portion of it, and other official products have shown in the past few years; the license holders put the least amount of effort with their stuff in condescending attempts to make money off of very nostalgic fans, sometimes even throwing them a token gesture trying to reassure people that they're still really taking this stuff as seriously as they or their predecessors did years ago. And while a bit misguided, fan works aren't asking for such commitments, they just want people to enjoy their work without stuff like legalities or lawyers from the Los Angeles area potentially derailing the whole thing getting in the way. At least that's what I've come to think about it these days, especially after actually taking the time to hear all of Zen72's review for the comic's first issue.
  20. If this was an ongoing series, a secondary story would be fine. But due to the time constraints on this limited series, I don't think sacrificing 1/3 of an issue for something unrelated to the main story (pretty much ad space/filler) is appropriate, especially when the first issue needs to set up the premise for this weird pairing.
  21. And here I thought Zen72 was exaggerating about that part of the comic. Surely those ten or so pages could've been used better.
  22. Issue 1 youtube review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGC62eQ8_5o&feature=youtu.be
  23. Minor Stealth references, too?
