  1. Damn, those lucky non-pre-pre-ordering plebs at Gen Con.
  2. I'd argue that they're doing a hell of a job selling something which doesn't even exist yet, including the corresponding merchandise to it that also doesn't exist yet.
  3. Surely there must be some celebrities out there in the same boat willing to give this a kick in the arm, and make the whole effort moot, for their childhoods. They did get at least one before (supposedly).
  4. I think this post defines one of the many reasons why I don't watch the movies anymore. Note that it only concerns robot fight scenes. http://io9.com/the-transformers-trilogy-contains-only-20-minutes-of-ro-1603094507 So how much from this movie can be added to this?
  5. While we're talking about it, I'll man up to the fact that I was wrong when I thought Creavision would never recover from the C&D debacle on the other thread, regardless of how this turns up. Though, I really hope they're okay with working under strict deadlines and significant creative, and legal, restrictions. In fact, and Zen72 can confirm this, I'll man up to the fact that I was wrong about this as well. When the first images for the Kickstarter was being teased I thought it was going to be for a massive, but "harmless," comic book reboot through Dynamite comics that would finally wipe away all the secondary continuity which HG has been eluding to for years. Like Macross the First, but with bad, immature, writing. Apparently, there's more coming from there after the Voltron crossover, but no one cares anymore.
  6. I think it was an attempt by developers/publishers to prevent hacking. For multiplayer games, I can understand this, but not for single player games. Back when the online servers for White Knight Chronicles II were still up, I saw a lot of players using hacked saves with characters with stats beyond what was officially possible. It pissed off the community. However, they helped people in farming for rare materials and gave people an opportunity to see either locked or region-based content that eventually was never released outside of Japan. And last I heard, hacking is the only means to complete missions and at least one difficult trophy that relied on the online portion. But for that Mass Effect save? It's EA, that's why.
  7. It's the same with Mass Effect saves and probably anything published by EA. I heard the official solution to that is to get a Playstation Plus subscription because you are allowed to upload all of your saves on a cloud server, including the copyrighted ones.
  8. So what do those same fans think of Creavision now that they've apparently moved up in the world?
  9. I added it to my first post days ago. But seriously, after 29 years, and let that sink in... 29 years... if people don't know or care by now, can't stop them.
  10. It's other people's money, so don't worry. Sometimes you just can't stop the predatory, and habitual, nature of nostalgia.
  11. This past weekend has really given me a better appreciation for the traditional forces working behind the scenes that help both greenlight and produce anime or any kind of media.
  12. For exhibit #1, Patricio Mosquera should have known better than to name his work after an existing official product and then brag that he "worked" on Love Live Alive.
  13. I'd listen to azarel folks. Set aside all that nostalgia and start asking all the important questions about this thing you've supported that you should have done over the last 29 years.
  14. And a whole lotta sex, but it's Vegas so they can get away with it.
  15. And before anyone says it, let's be honest, it's not coming out in 2015 or you're really not going to like the kind of sandwich they can make in just a year. And it will never be Macross, ever again.
  16. Generating money for a Kickstarter is easy for most, but actually completing said project to most people's satisfaction...?
  17. Oh damn, I mixed them up with Ragex. I wonder what happened?
  18. Up to now, they've never begged the public in helping pitch their ideas to networks and other companies, who will ultimately the ones financing the entire series. People will be paying for just one episode up front, and the piracy would happen regardless of being a Kickstarter or not. Also, Creavision, the company that "worked" on Robotech: Love Live Alive, will be animating it. Imagine Voltron Force, I guess.
  19. Don't you mean the greatest guilt trip/ultimatum of all time? Half a million dollars or the fans potentially kill the franchise. And with a vague premise sounding like Voltron Force, who wouldn't "invest" in it? I think by now it's safe to say that Shadow Chronicles, despite what people said in reviews and that award it "won," was a franchise killer all those years ago.
  20. ...THEN PAY US... or not... we'll keep trying though... https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1381502542/robotech-academy?ref=discovery Link **********Sidekick probability of success site************** THIS THREAD IS NOT ABOUT MACROSS OR HG'S LICENSING OF MACROSS. 21. Having walked The Strip a couple of times, I'm trying to visualize it and wonder what the exact dimensions of Vega is supposed to be so far. From what I could tell from the first couple of episodes, the Welcome to LV sign and Luxor are on the outskirts just before a fortification a couple of blocks ahead. But one or two a blocks away is where Excalibur and Tropicana are supposed to be, so I guess they were torn down? However, they share an intersection with the MGM Grand, which is still standing and where an important political family lives. Am I missing anything? So far though, the show really makes me want to go to Las Vegas again.
  22. Does that include all the stretch goal stuff that was promised yet were never shown? The announcement was very vague about what was actually ready.
  23. I'm not paying to watch essentially two films in one with meat bag "drama" and "comedy" overly padding out all the stuff involving robots, let alone literally the same kind of movie 4 times in a row.
