  1. True, this is probably the most important feasibility study they ever got within the last decade no matter the cost.
  2. Not when one franchise has to beg for money from the public directly in order to do legitimate work.
  3. It wasn't meant to be an argument, just a very long term observation.
  4. Be honest, you and many others here would be thinking differently if this was funded, even if most of it would be fueled by fan rage for at least a year afterwards. Besides, most of us were not even part of the situation anyway. It mostly relied on those with an actual emotional and financial investment in the franchise to help make the most important decision concerning this ordeal. We just watch it unfold as a spectator sport, like shipping.
  5. Tommy can't do Speed Racer comics anymore, so yes? http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-01-04/speed-racer-rights-revert-to-tatsunoko-with-lawsuit-settled
  6. For context(?): http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takeru
  7. EXO, regarding your question a couple a pages ago, I don't really know. Somehow, I think South America will factor into whatever happens after the KS. Especially if people saw how the first post looked like when it all started.
  8. Also, look at people who were able to accept it and move on since the franchise's future is very, very uncertain at this point. http://ghostlightning.wordpress.com/2010/01/15/old-news-robotech-sucks-news-not-robotech-is-awesome-even-if-its-still-called-robotech/ And yes, that was an impulsive me in the comment section from a very long time ago.

  10. That tends to happen when the only significant things the company did before this Kickstarter in the eyes of the general public, besides re-releases, is threaten legal action against more prominent franchises within the last five years.
  11. Yeah, I call BS on this whole Kickstarter after seeing that.
  12. Sounds like a good chance for both a retcon and a compelling update to bring in more backers, possibly.
  13. Because Macross Purist, obviously. As the person who started the thread, if similar people like that guy wants an irrational scapegoat for a certain company's public failures, I'll volunteer to be their new lightning rod of hate. Just know, however, that Robotech has screwed A LOT of people besides us over the years. And that is not an exaggeration.
  14. Strange, I just realized that for all the talk about Academy happening around the time of the Sentinels, no one's even talked about them. Everyone's focus has been on human characters, the mecha, ships and the Children of Zor. Surely they're all coming back in one way or another if the KS is funded since that was also part of Carl's vision, right?
  15. Just one word - Karbarrans Check the time index Zen72 mentioned near the end. It's mentioned somewhere in that huge body of text that comes up, right before it starts sounding desperate. But honestly, there are other, more prominent places he should be worried about when it comes to this. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/movies-television/992910-robotech-academy.html http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=40379.0 http://www.allspark.com/forums/topic/104818-robotech-academy-kickstarter/ http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2862448 http://io9.com/a-brief-history-of-5-failed-robotech-sequels-1608968158 We're just the most convenient one to rant about.
  16. Can't see how that's relevant since this KS is going to retcon it anyway.
  17. If that video doesn't help raise over $300,000 for the KS, I really don't see the point of it.
  18. Hmm, he's new meat posting on the Robotech forums and hopelessly optimistic. Nothing new. Harmony Gold's been treating you the worst of all for 30 years.
  19. They don't have years to refine their work like before, but just 12 days in this phase of the project or it's over... or not.
  20. They are doing art books, reprints of the old ones, maybe some newer ones with work from recent comics, exclusive Tommy Yune work, maybe the art book that was being offered for the KS, etc. That was their "big" announcement.Great push for a healthy franchise this year. I feel like we've been taking the whole thing more seriously than the professionals.
