  1. Maybe because 2014 wasn't a good year for the franchise.
  2. Over the weekend I watched Into the Woods, and one of the biggest laughs I had was the song below. Sung by Chris Pine. On a waterfall. With shirt ripping. http://youtu.be/I-h-mKYoWeQ William Shatner would be proud.
  3. I have the lingering feeling that Syfy is actually going to greenlight Ascension as a series.
  4. Considering the group (and yes, I've seen the group) I really doubt all of that person's background, especially the Macross part. It is Facebook, after all.
  5. Fixed. There's a huge difference.
  6. Then again, a language barrier vs. a contrived narrative decision for syndication purposes taken for granted isn't a fair fight.
  7. So, I might be working on something by the start of 2015. I didn't get to read up on Macross the First for a couple of years, but I am really curious what has been revealed so far about Gina Bartrow's character?
  8. Enough said.
  9. So why not just exploit the hell out of the movie through the Internet for whatever activist agenda people want in retaliation since, I'm assuming, it was part of the terabytes of data that was leaked? Someone previously posted the most exploitable part of the entire film. Nevermind. http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2014/12/21/the-interview-torrent-might-be-available-if-the-pirate-bay-website-still-existed/
  10. Wait, I thought their goal was to stop the movie from being released. Isn't the hack just making it more readily available on the Internet instead?
  11. The Asylum wouldn't have backed down if they were behind this or the eventual knock off.
  12. Regardless of how it ends, I think I've had enough of Battlestar Galactica influenced sci-fi shows after what Ascension pulled off.
  13. Just finished the first episode of Ascension on Syfy. I was hooked into the world building aspect of the setting and the show taking a lot of concepts behind generation ships seriously.
  14. It was announced around September that Playstation Home will be shutting down in March 2015. Savor any of the rewards that were given out back when the Frontier movies were being promoted, because stuff like this will be gone. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/sonys-virtual-world-playstation-home-closing-its-d/1100-6422590/
  15. It sounds like this is the only real success story the franchise had in 2014, and even then it's only American backers feeling it for now.
  16. He definitely had something planned after this. At least, that's what Dynamite believed back in April. http://www.icv2.com/articles/news/28348.html
  17. They did say the project would still go through regardless of the results of the kickstarter, and making the whole effort a moot point halfway into the pledge period.
  18. Like this comic book, it ultimately led nowhere.
  19. I guess for me it's just refreshing to see things happening that are actually not fueled solely on delusions of grandur.
  20. I think that game already exists. It's called Defiance, a poor man's version of both but now free-to-play with a loosely connected TV show to prop it up. And it apparently has everything; zombies, bug wars, Terminators, the Locust, etc.
  21. Hehe, Paul from Spin City is the mayor. Really hope Fish Mooney makes it into the comics, even though it is a prequel and she might be dead by the end of the show.
  22. Not yet. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/daily-briefs/2014-10-20/netflix-considers-expanding-into-japan-asian-markets/.79933
