  1. Gowron, hamming it up for the humans. Take the ride for yourself. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL323AD85A10F09FC3
  2. Damn, someone beat me to it. Knock yourselves out everyone: http://www.straightouttasomewhere.com/
  3. In theaters 8/14/15.
  4. I find it funny that a franchise, when you think about it, as a product of the 80's having a lot of patriotic American overtones is these days trying to merchandise itself to hipsters. That alone will never get the franchise a dignified return in animation.
  5. I didn't know relevant companies still focused on dime a dozen blogs to reverse their reputations in the age of Facebook. Is that why the new Robotech website operates like one?
  6. No wonder I saw Ian Ziering guest star on this week's Defiance. SyFy's milking it for all it's worth.
  7. You could also read the profile of the blogger to get the whole story with him. If it makes you feel any better, he and the actual owner of that blog/podcast logo had a pretty messy falling out a year or two ago. However, the wiki with that pic is currently run by the guy who did the 40 minute rant supporting Robotech Academy.
  8. That makes it sound like GHQ cheated to make these exclusives compared to all the work Ninja Division did for the main set.
  9. That might as well be anyone's Super VF-1 straight out of the blister.
  10. Thank God the real owners of 1/3 of it isn't a part of any of this BS.
  11. Besides advertising new crap to sell and dangling voice actors to the masses, I think whatever benefit these convention panel videos, and the panels themselves, were supposed to have has disappeared. With the franchise relying more and more on Hollywood studios and the golden boys who find themselves involved in it, why care when all the important decisions are probably being made by none of people appearing in these panels? That may count as a different kind of failure as of last month straight from the owner of the company.
  12. Hard to believe these people tried to raise half a million to solve all their problems a year ago. It was also back when Warner Brothers was apparently beginning to end its professional relationship with the franchise.
  13. Confirmed at Anime Expo. The future of the franchise is really up to their new Hollywood overlords while they pimp out "new" merchandise and struggle to stay relevant.
  14. Late adopters FTW! That strategy has worked well for me, except when it comes to Bethesda games. An unfortunate trend I've seen is a lot of them pretty much require you to choose the PC version over all others for stability issues, and then get an unofficial patch in order to fix even more things, sometimes game breaking, that were still neglected in the GOTY edition.
  15. For the past week I've been hearing ads for the movie in a number of Internet radio stations I use. They've been using an endorsement from James Cameron saying it has revitalized the franchise, plus some witty lines from the film that seems out of place for a Terminator movie. I really hope he doesn't regret saying that in the next few weeks.
  16. This might be a complicated question for this thread, but has anyone been following up with the Trans-Pacific Partnership treaty regarding intellectual property? Is there anything to worry about when it comes to Macross if it is ever adopted? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans-Pacific_Partnership_intellectual_property_provisions
  17. Considering the bombshell Kevin just revealed, in context I think they have more important things to worry about right now than working on other things and directions for the project that they never intended to go with the Kickstarter. It's also worrisome that not only are those exclusives, conventional units, and the Invid (?) the only positive things that he had to say out of the entire two part manifesto of costly mistakes, but it sounds like those have a better chance of getting released before the things people actually pledged for. Also, sorry Southern Cross fans (again).
  18. And yet, this happens.https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rrpgt/robotech-rpg-tacticstm/posts/1255963 https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rrpgt/robotech-rpg-tacticstm/posts/1256008 Basically, they screwed up.
  19. Syfy's Ascension, for not being the kind of show they spent so much time hyping it up to be.
  20. There will be one immediate effect with this; probably a new excuse fit for convention panels for why production on Shadow Rising and Academy will be stalled for the next few years.
  21. They were never part of the figure range brought up in the fundraising phase, but will possibly be developed using the Kickstarter money. And probably most people will have to pay for it, backers and others alike. Sounds like Palladium is prioritizing the gaming conventions for promotional reasons over the people who actually helped make the wargame possible (again).
