    I've been making hints about it for a while now, but I'm calling it right before the mecha on mecha fights really go down; Hayate is Machida's son, the red shirt from Frontier. Without any secondary material and etc. it's the only explanation I can think of for Hayate's skill and proficiency starting from battriod mode of all places. It would also be a clever balancing act between having to shoot someone down like a soldier, which Hayate has problems doing, or being a Basara tier pacifist... by just taking out of a Knight with an old fashioned beat down.

    I think the Knights brought that tour to a screeching halt this week. They might be going idol hunting from now on.

    That show started off being controversial because of then weird concepts it experimented with, like the Trukk not munky stuff. However, as the show went on the overall the quality rose to the point where it became a good entry in the franchise for a lot of people and actually contributed to its mythology. It's kinda like how Delta started with the Grit not Moe stuff going around. This is probably a similar turning point for the show now that it's no longer the episodic "let's cure a planet of the hate plague" show people thought it was going to be but a straight up galactic war. And not just any war, it's one where the enemy may have single handedly undermined the foundations of the franchise through guile. The Mardook, by comparison, had it easy.

    Still betting on Delta potentially being the Beast Wars of the franchise. The stakes just got higher than any other series before it.

    It might be something else. Hayate was unusually serious and maybe defensive when he found out they were researching about him. Maybe Arad is holding back something about him that the dossier from Kaname had.

    I thought the show has been giving subtle hints that there is a tragic backstory with Hayate linked to that inconsistency. I guess you can't when you have Kakizaki's color scheme (both of them).

    Remember, Hayate started out proficient to a degree in bioroid mode. He's 1/3 of the way to being a good pilot. It's like a Destriod pilot transitioning to a Valk.

    I'm starting to miss the EX-Gears, but it's understandable since Delta Squad's role isn't strictly military. In fact, this conflict seems to be on a smaller scale than others. Because it's a fat b@st@rd.

    Gotta look on tumblr for that stuff. This is the first time in a while I've seen a series reveal very little in the next episode previews. I get the feeling that the series will be getting dark pretty quickly from here on in. Also, need to look into Star Ocean 5 now.
