  1. Not too shabby. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2016-10-04/japan-animation-dvd-ranking-september-26-october-2/.107241 https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2016-10-04/japan-animation-blu-ray-disc-ranking-september-26-october-2/.107240
  2. Yeah, I had the same problems with the finale as well. It was okay, but are a lot of lingering questions out there preventing me from really enjoying it. It didn't help that, unlike Frontier or a recent example like Gundam Blod Iron Orphans, there was no immediate announcement afterwards of what's next. As of the time of this post, the only hint I can see is the last remaining blank spot in the story section of Delta's website after episode 26.
  3. I'm actually being serious. She appears out of nowhere at least once in The First. Before the extremely long interlude it currently is in, it was retroactively trying to make subtle connections to the rest of the franchise before Delta. Hopefully it is starting again this month.
  4. I post this in tribute to the real workhorse of the entire series that not only made Windermere's defeat possible but effortlessly withstood the power of the Star Singer. Not Walkure, not Delta Platoon, not the Macross Elysion. A round of applause for... this inanimate fold quartz pendant. May we one day find out what was so special about it.
  5. From the album: pictures

    The real hero of Delta
  6. Who are we to judge what Space War I veterans with David Xanatos amounts of money do with their time? Compared to the NUNS, they are the only good people in the universe that can still be relied on. Still betting on Lady M being Gina BartroW.
  7. New update from the Newtype main link; character sketches.
  8. It's not over yet. http://whiteboxgems.tumblr.com/post/150991372242/macross-delta-gori-gori-radio-ep-26 Somewhere down the line I think the title for the episode 26 thread will need to be changed.
  9. Jokes aside, the real stinger with Berger is that he's been set up to get Kaifun's ending. Not only does he get to walk away from the conflict before the finale, but may get to spend the next few years living comfortably off the protagonists' exploits. At least there's a slight chance for him getting space lung cancer compared to just alcoholism. Oh well, next episode is going to be rough.
  10. Look familiar? The Bird Human needed a body, head, and a Mayan Island priestess to activate. Roid just got a Star Singer who summoned a head-like structure from the super dimension directly on to the Sigur Valens, which he wants to use against the entire galaxy. But her singing in the vicinity of Protoculture ruins only affects Windermereians. And the only redeeming value of their species as a whole throughout the war has been Freyja. The NUNS really don't need to do anything at this point.
  11. The head. Sigur Valens is the Windemere equivalent of the Bird Human from Macross Zero. Mikumo, an equivalent to Sara Nome, is supposed to go inside it and judge the entire species.
  12. Not bad for the George Lucas of anime. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2016-09-09/preliminary-results-for-2016-newtype-awards-are-in/.106287 There's already one; Lynn Kaifun circa 2045 and his Fire Bomber American. Or in Macross the First, hipster vampire manager Lynn Kaifun.

  14. With all the things I've been wondering about Hayate for a while now, his trial in episode 24 might be the big payoff in terms of his backstory.
  15. I would like to point out that Walkure and Delta squad now have a better track record compared to Warera, Loli, and Conda when it comes to infiltration missions. One successful recon and liberation of a planet against petty theft.
  16. People should just admit they want the "gritty" storytelling Carl Macek turned this into at this point.
  17. Wow, Windermere's gonna give Hayate the Moon Door next week. Out of nowhere, yes, but how else do you think a race that features the wind prominently in their culture is going to serve justice to the son of a pariah?
  18. I'm betting on a season two for Delta especially if a more permanent solution to the Var Syndrome is not found in the next few weeks. If anything can be taken out of the lull in action in the last few weeks it's that Windermere found a way weaponize it for mass mind control and there are groups out there waiting to exploit it. Even if they lose their war, they've opened a whole new can of worms for future conflicts.
  19. I thought the show was hinting early on that there was a two man conspiracy between them in starting this war. This episode just confirmed it. Could've sworn that Keith wanted his father to keel over sooner or later for their plans to go forward, which is starting to look like revenge/justice against against everyone who wronged them during the Revolution. I'm guessing Gramia did some screwed up things to him growing up or during the war.
  20. Call me a sadist or total perv, but the Knights may need to do some (more?) lewd things to get popular at this point. Like The Full Monty or Free! mini theater levels of lewd. But at least they're on a very popular show. http://sgcafe.com/2016/08/kabaneri-iron-fortress-macross-delta-still-dominate-newtype-rankings-september-2016/
  21. Best girl strikes back hard this week. Though I don't think Hayate was being serious about quitting. You know, playing it up for Freyja's sake. This feels like a 36 episode show.
  22. In Berger's defense. 'Murica's Tactical Music Unit; just guns that fire CDs.
