  1. There's something ironic about backers of a failed crowdsourcing project starting their own crowdsourcing project in order to get some semblance of closure for the whole experience. Good luck I guess, especially with how the American legal system and government is these days. I think an awkward, profanity laced video on social media might be easier, just like what other disgruntled fanboys do these days.
  2. Just be thankful that besides some bruised egos and little collateral damage the only people that really got screwed from that situation are those who actually deserved it. This on the other hand got unnecessarily messy with mistakes by both Palladium and backers over the years that it's hard for me to sympathize with anyone.
  3. A tech company actually trying to fix serious flaws in how it operates in 2018? Also, people heavily invested in nerd culture on the Internet actually growing up in 2018? That’s a stretch.
  4. Palladium admitted that they lost/spent all of the pledge money and the project was unrecoverable almost three years ago. Those people should have acted sooner.
  5. Macross The First Manga Moves to Cycomi App If you never bought the manga (seriously?), it's being released a chapter a week.
  6. I agree. In the first couple of pages the thread lot of people were casually pledging money for this project treating it more like a pre-order program even before the stretch goal figures started showing up and things got ridiculous.
  7. Here's a condensed version without all the hype-man excuses. Palladium Books' Robotech License Expires, Remaining Kickstarter Rewards Cancelled Reading some of the old updates leading up to this, and holy crap. Earlier in the month the website that hosted pictures from the crowdfunding period got hacked and a year ago one of the game designers almost committed suicide because of backlash from angry backers?!
  8. All that time and money for two slabs of bread.
  9. Yup. I should have toned it down to gritty facial expressions and costume design with a weird fixation on teeth for some reason.
  10. Who cares. No more teeth fetish artwork to worry about.
  11. Thank God. It's starting over again on a legit site. https://cycomi.com/title.php?title_id=83
  12. For your consideration and what I have been eluding to since the tread started, the least appropriate person to reinvent Lynn Minmay in any form of media - Brian Wood (a horrible person). http://comicsalliance.com/brian-wood-tess-fowler-sexual-harassment-accusations-statement/
  13. Guess that must be a reason why you’re not a mod here.
  14. The viewcomic.com watermark(?) on the spoilerific pages up till now should have been a hint that it has been being pirated from an allegedly free website.
  15. I would have to say you probably are after those recent posts/rants at some level.
  16. "Oh noes, this movie is not gritty enough!" Considering there's a somewhat related piece of work that is trying to be too gritty for its own good, make up your damn minds people.
  17. But seriously though, weren't there rules against stuff like this at one point in the forum?
  18. What I’m hearing is that the biggest criticism for this movie besides quality issues is that it pretty much does what every movie version of previous entries did after DYRL besides the second Frontier movie and what Manga Entertinment did to Macross II. That does not sound like a big deal.
  19. Only because Old_Nash keeps pirating pages of the comic book.
  20. Delta was streaming on the Asian version of Hulu at one time and the every TV series has been or still is available on other legit sites. I think they mentioned it on the podcast before.
  21. Podtastic, you really didn’t know about all this character development outside the show?
  22. Another problem Brian Wood and co. will have to solve for this comic based on their shallow characterization as a whole so far.
  23. I got five words that will ruin all the grittiness aging comic book professionals can throw at this piece of work all because they ended up killing off the wrong person: Minmay is going to sing.
  24. I hope they weren't being mildly prejudice about the anime style of the original series. Also, I hope some of those commenters are actually women who appreciate how 'realistic' and 'stylish' it is. Back in the day there were people who legitimately liked the Wildstorm and Dynamite Comic Voltron crossover for their style over their story and believed that both would bring the franchise back to the mainstream. I really don't take them seriously.
  25. These days I care more about results than the drama behind the scenes, especially if it's just Internet drama involving crazy people. In the end, people's work ended up on a self contained and self-absorbed comic book adaptation with no long term implications and may someday end up on an expensive art book somewhere down the line. Who cares.
