  1. Wow, I did not make the connection when it was shown on TV.
  2. I'm not saying that it would work, but knowing HG if given the chance a HG backed MOSPEADA II would try it anyway. A sequel made by the original staff of Mospeada or other interested people on the other hand, probably want to ignore Shadow Chronicles. I wouldn't blame them.
  3. Rick Hunter could have been changed to Admiral Generic something who ordered the attack on earth but got double crossed. As to why he would be important, just use a lot of exposition since he hasn't done anything previously in the series. Robotech is already familiar with exposition so they can BS their way out of it.
  4. God is... ...or... ...or... That last one would be brilliant.
  5. A little note about the review though, it's not out of print. I saw Mospeada and Southern Cross released together by ADV as a collection months ago. Somewhat demeaning to Southern Cross since Macross was also re-released as a collection by itself.
  6. It might be related to a military organization like a legion, as in a Roman legion. At least that's the first thing that came to mind. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_legion On wikipedia, "legio" is actually a Latin word meaning military levy, conscription, army, etc. The rest could be there just to make it sound good. It's still a cool sounding name for a mecha though.
  7. You people want love, here's some love: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/buried-tre.../southern-cross
  8. I hope Tommy doesn't regret his career change after all these years. I guess I'm saying he could have been more productive, or at least have something to do, with his free time while waiting for Robotech things to develop. Unless he knows something fans don't or he's just a sell out.
  9. They're really making use of the last few episodes to end the series with style.
  10. Course I remember, it's just sad to see a guy with an art/comic book background using it mostly for toy box artwork since then. Feels like wasted potential.
  11. Speaking of comics, did Tommy Yune ever go back to working in the comic book industry or is he focusing more on Robotech? Since Shadow Chronicles, he could have worked on some other stuff to refine his technique, expand his portfolio, or something.
  12. So much for the big Robotech comeback people thought Shadow Chronicles was going to bring. At least with Macross projects they more or less finish the story, or are at least more committed to their work to see it on to the end. Meanwhile, here we have an unresolved cliffhanger tacked onto a previous unresolved cliffhanger, on the animation side at least, which is unlikely to be finished in the next few years.
  13. Thanks for the warning about Antarctic Press comics. I finally know why one of the Robotech comics I bought had Captain Global as a cook. They're not worth a lot these days, are they?
  14. Episode #311, get the alcohol ready.
  15. With Shadow Rising probably in the same situation, or worse, what's Robotech going to do until things are ready for both projects? They can't just release toys and do convention panels forever as fans start to lose interest, can they?
  16. Isn't this a problem most fandoms have whenever something becomes too popular and/or lasts a long time, or is Star Wars a special case? I've seen similar people on the Internet putting as intense focus on other interests.
  17. Cool, is the show is branching out into manga/comics from now on also? Also, did you know the Robotech Fan gave another respont about your podcast again?
  18. Staff from HG have panels at various conventions this year about the franchise, so anyone who attends should get some information from the source. Bet there's a lot of people asking that question too at cons.
  19. This is old but someone's capitalizing on it (VERY NSFW, contains language): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKqj0ZWIc8c
  20. Sounds kind of embarrassing for everyone. I get the impression that being a fan and going to a panel means hoping to get anything besides blanket statements and bull. And since that happened in 2004, can I assume that this has been happening for years now?
  21. It's probably good that I stay away from the Internet (this thread) until after I watch an episode and watch it on demand. Plus, they never show the next week's preview On-Demand so I'm really in the dark for what happens next.
  22. You know when HG and Robotech have a panel at an anime/comic/etc. convention, has anyone attended them in the past? If I ever go to a convention, is it something interesting to visit? I really want to know what goes on during those panels, especially what they talk about when the only things coming up are Shadow Rising and the live action movie. From what I've gathered so far from convention reports, it sounds like they are PR moves reassuring everyone about the franchise without revealing anything new.
  23. I was talking about this one: http://www.new-un-spacy.com/macrossga/vglaug-uns.htm
  24. The Variable Glaug UNS for micron pilots.
