  1. Just finishing up Clannad After Story this week. Key sure knows how to make effective sad stuff.
  2. A trailer is up: Fluid action, breakdancing, maybe a partnership with Nike, looks pretty good.
  3. It's still a sad story all for a show, whoever starts it. I'm not defending them, I'm just indifferent about all of it.
  4. I heard about the stories with Darkwater and Robotech Master from Space Station Liberty. After reading this thread, maybe Tom Bateman could also count with the Shadow Chronicles situation. A fan working on a film trying to build anticipation for the franchise and backfiring on both sides of the production. Everything is good as long as he did and said good things for it in public. Nowadays, the same could be true with close fans like whoever runs robotechx.com if you ask some people. Plus, the history behind Palladium and Toynami Robotech releases up to now, who at the moment are keeping the franchise alive outside of syndication and DVDs. These could be used to drum up anticipation for at least 2 new Robotech productions coming out in the foreseeable future (2010-∞). I might be confusing all of this with PR, but it's still sad. As for the MOSPEADA problem, think of the Robotech version as someone's gross reinterpretation of everything one loves: a legitimate fanfic.
  5. I had the same feeling after hearing the enthusiasm people had for the post-Shadow Chronicles Robotech. They'd probably be willing to wait years for new Robotech stuff if they haven't started already. It's kind of sad that they're being taken advantage of in a way just like others before.
  6. Have they even showed the Protoculture Matrix at all before?
  7. The Protoculture Matrix is nowhere to be found and humanity can't do anything without it.
  8. I forgot that some who hated Shadow Chonicles left or were banned from the site due to being unruly. That's probably why a lot of people there like SC.
  9. There's probably someone on robotech.com who genuinely liked it. But then there are a lot more feeling frustrated like you about it these days, some going way overboard about it.
  10. Wow, they really are full of themselves aren't they. How did you find out about those? I have to wonder sometimes what is really going on with HG. From what we know, their website hasn't been updated since 06-07, they haven't been involved with anything new for years, new Robotech projects are on hiatus and you rarely hear anything about it and the company except from small blurbs on convention panels every year that reveal nothing and if you visit robotech.com regularly. Unless they're getting boatloads of money from old projects and Robotech fans still, could they be in some financial trouble because it doesn't seem like they're doing anything significant, anything in general. There is still Toynami and Palladium releasing official products for Robotech, but how about HG itself?
  11. HG would have done more with Robotech or Macross if it were true.
  12. Good development for the finale though.
  13. Whatever happens, Toby Macguire got punk'd into this mess and nobody bothered to tell him or fix it after 25 years.
  14. He keeps talking about stuff he wanted from Robotech but had no existing animation for them, if that was a problem maybe he should have invented time and money making his own animation and the like. You think Macek's original version of Robotech would have been as successful as what everyone eventually got?
  15. Does it actually have the lines, "May the Force be with you suckers!" in the comic?
  16. They should just call it Anachronism or Identity Crisis.
  17. Has anyone read the Robotech: The Untold Story comic book?
  18. I was tempted to buy Gungriffon Blaze for the PS2 a couple of times, but is it worth it? I was wondering whether or not they completed the game because I heard there are a lot of mecha and components to use but only 5-6 original levels in the game with harder versions of each.
  19. Uwe Boll must be an exception.
  20. How much would movies like that cost (including licenses and stuff), and how long would it take to make a profit on them?
  21. Those are a lot of expectations. Although it would be incredible if it happened, I'd feel sorry for anyone who had to make good on all that.
  22. My God, now I've seen everything. It's expensive, but it's good to know it will actually exist in a year. If mini Valks, Destroids, etc. are included with that thing, they might as well stop playing around and make a table top game for Macross sooner or later.
  23. I feel like riding a boat somehow:
  24. really bugged me this week
  25. Damn, when I first heard about Dwarf Fortress and it's slogan "Losing is fun!" I didn't think it was real. Now, after playing it and watching videos of it not only is it fun, it's inevitable. Has anybody played this?
