    I may have cost them a Kickstarter, and everything done since (like this comic book) is just fallout from it.

    All I see is a continuity that might be snapped out of existence once Titan Comic’s reboot is complete, like the novels.

    They can throw pretty much anyone they want in that mess. It does not change the fact that all those imitation Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospeada characters in the comics are going to have Transformers quality dialogue coming out of their mouths in addition to the exposition Robotech is notorious for.

    From the content of recent comics books, I think they’re banking on short term projects revolving around gimmicks that the powers that be know will eventually warn out their welcome. For example, a crossover with Voltron because they’re both robot shows (yes, that really did happen).

    Now I definitely call BS on whatever was actually announced this year regarding licensing. HG really has just garbage comic books for the near future.

    Hmm, KM wasn’t lying. It took 2 months instead of 18 for some juicy details about the movie.

    Before the Robotech universe/multiverse implodes or something from this reboot, I just want to say thank you Titan Comics for setting the stage for how this era of the franchise is going is going to work out - a whole bunch of imitation Macross, Southern Cross and Mospeada characters desperately trying to go through the motions of their storylines under pretty ridiculous handicaps.

    Name dropping means nothing at this point, especially if it’s just been one guy spreading it around like clockwork. As a reminder, this thread is so old that it still uses tags for Warner Bros. and Tobey Maguire. When they no longer involved there have been so many others who came and went on almost a yearly basis, from famous people from the 80’s and 00’s to an independent film type person who started out making car commercials (remember that guy?).

    At this point, what stopping official people at these Robotech convention panels from pretty much saying anything to drum up any kind of attention? For me, the last time there were actually consequences for how they conducted themselves was the Robotech Academy Kickstarter. They have been at it for so long I think that without the ability to dangle three unrelated shows at people's faces, they really have little to no credibility and anything they say should ever be taken seriously again.

    Great job contributing to Anime World Order's review of Macross II, guys. Anime World Order show 178, Macross II Wow, just listened to the end of the recording. You guys really did contribute to it.

    It’s been two months since HG reps boldly stated that the franchise is going places. Besides gritty independent comic books publications (again), I really can’t tell it apart from all the other years.

    I think it’s appropriate to restate what I said in the other HG thread, especially with the call backs to the novels taking center stage and the Macross portion of the story pretty much done at this point. Are they really going to kill Minmay to literally save the franchise?

    Knight26, from what you read, are the stakes really high going into the possible finale of the series? Like the multiverse is in danger kind of stakes or a robot crab swarm will kill humanity deal? Is a Japanese idol somehow part of the solution to all of this madness? Hell, was all of this building up to a fixfic quality story addressing everything that happened with the franchise for the last 20 or so years?

    Oh, it’s Lazlo Zand who is doing the scheming this time around... Sorry, I still don’t know who that guy really is historically in the franchise or care at this point. Just another original character with a dumb name.

    Huh, what a waste for the guy who derailed everything (as usual). Who the heck thought it was a good idea to reboot one of the worst Robotech original characters ever just for that? (Just to verify, he and maybe that other Robotech original character scientist who doesn’t matter assassinated Captain Global for whatever Orguss related scheme the Titian Comics staff made up, and inadvertently sabotaged the Rick/Lisa/Minmay triangle and character development each of them had in the show that made viewers actually care about any of them? And the damage he caused was for nothing?)

    I think any semblance of a love triangle and character development the main three were supposed to have died with Captain Global and replaced with too much plot exposition and Furmanisms.

    Old_Nash, knowing you please don’t start a new thread for the next comic. Just rename the thread to encompass this era of the franchise. For instance, the “We Don’t Care Anymore Chronicles.”
