  1. Yeah, especially when they continue to buy products that tend to be of questionable quality, and with the makers having a long history of doing it, yet always give them the benefit of the doubt because of those logos. They're just ill informed consumers.
  2. I wonder what happened to the person who made that ever since? EDIT: Or anyone else who went overboard with it in years past.
  3. Just like in The Day After Tomorrow, they're accelerating the effects of whatever theory they're basing this on to make a good movie. The scientific community is going to have a field day with this one.
  4. And the housing market has been doing really bad for the past year too.
  5. http://harmonygoldproperties.com/ That depends on how the company is structured; centralized or decentralized.
  6. Macross-Inspired Doctor Who Anime Exterminates Our Eyeballs Eh, I don't know.
  7. Never mind that crap... here comes Robotech! When people talk about Harmony Gold they want you to think about the Robotech multimedia experience.
  8. Should this also count as a sort of business practice used by him and other people in HG since to defend the work? The company did "create" the story and others continue to build... something from it. For as long as they want to work on it they'll have no choice but to be defensive about Robotech when the facts are out there in some form. Official crew willing to talk about it are usually good in choosing their words for the right effect. They could be a source of a lot of the anger from their side because some of it works in their favor. From their POV, for instance, BW could be in the wrong because they refused to work with HG for the benefit of Macross and (for them mostly) Robotech. Did representatives from HG ever phrase it that way, or was that the conclusion some people in the fandom made from what happened at one time? Anyway, that kind of thinking can be good for HG in terms of product loyalty. Fans' disgust could motivate them to be very defensive about the franchise as well, in addition to being proud financial supporters of it, which is what they really want. aka. media manipulation
  9. I think HG isn't even denying that anymore after retconning everything that isn't animation as, unfortunately, just disposable merchandise to them. For what it's worth, all of it did progress the story to a conclusion at least, instead of no ending. Now, they're not even trying to cover the fact that they don't have much new to contribute to it and they're just doing it for the money.
  10. CollectionDX is doing a live feed show on their site, taking about Robotech, Macross etc. http://www.collectiondx.com/
  11. So I've taken a look at the various commercials and promotional websites for the movie and know a little bit more about their plan to survive 2012. We're boned.
  12. Sounds like another one man crusade to prove Macross Purists are in the wrong again.
  13. To each his own then. Pardon me while I ignore you from now on, since you're really here for a personal agenda. And if you have any questions about Macross Saga related info, google it.
  14. Up to now I thought it was just part of HG's strategy to spread the franchise's influence beyond the cartoon realm to get more money from it. They did a good job making sure Robotech was a multimedia powerhouse at the time because of how much was out there. Novels, comics, RPG, etc., that opens up a lot of business opportunities for them. To the fans, it gives the franchise many of the strengths and weaknesses of those types of media, eventually giving the illusion that the universe behind it is vast and strong. But look at the quality of some of those offerings over the years. If HG really cared for some of these ventures why did they turn out to be mediocre to downright crappy? Of course, even that is open to interpretation, which it thrives on.
  15. Also, the fact that despite being condescending to people just on this thread, they were generous enough to give you the information you needed. They could have easily told you to google it instead.
  16. There was some explanation near the end of the original series. Together with Pailsen Files it was easier to understand. But yeah, I want to see what they have planned for him since some key players are still alive scheming.
  17. It was too expensive for me when it was first released. I bought it when it was separated into three packages for about $100-$150 through Rightstuf and a convention discount.
  18. Maybe the same reason people were really interested in Shadow Chronicles initially, Rick Hunter. Also, the faiths of all the other characters that haven't been killed off yet. I wonder if a lot of fans would stick with the series once, or if, the unresolved Macross Saga material ever got concluded and move on from it. I know, very unlikely thinking right now with the live movie in progress bringing everything back to square one. They're definitely not done milking that part of the series yet, especially when they're willing to spend money to keep all related material regarding it under their control.
  19. Thank you Animeigo. Too bad things haven't progressed outside Japan ever since. But still, it was quite an accomplishment.
  20. I heard all of the Robotech Geocities websites in existence are going to be preserved at robotechx.com. Isn't it times two for this situation; viewer to the author to the real author(s)? Robotech thrives on being subjective these days. You can explain your way around so many things that doesn't make sense, just like they did since the 80s.
  21. People have been doing that long before you. Honestly, it's kind of insulting. http://www.geocities.com/spiffy5181/veritechindex.html
  22. Maybe HG expects people to look at the whole thing subjectively, now that what really happened throughout the storyline is now ambiguous. Original 85, novels, comics, etc., take it as you see fit or all of them. Who knows anymore.
  23. I don't think you know enough about the situation to really make an accurate conclusion of what is going on here. You might want to hold off before judging people.
  24. You think this might change something?
  25. I like how he's addressing a very serious problem never tackled before.
