  1. If they didn't show Codename: Robotech today, that's probably an attraction tomorrow. It's just a very rough cut of the clip show episode. AOD doesn't sound big enough for them to reveal something very important for the franchise. They might entice people to go to something like Anime Expo or Comic-Con for something they will supposedly reveal. Everything else is for nostalgia for those in the area where they stop. If that's the case, I hope it won't turn out to be more toys like previous years.
  2. At first I was surprised that people still thought that way, but HG's work behind the scenes has been effective over the years. Also, you have to remember that while a lot of those people probably have gone to Robotech conventions before, they're meeting face to face with the "creators" and talent of Robotech. Being awestruck towards people you glorify is normal.
  3. There's still Sunday, I presume that there's going to be activities in the panel tomorrow, right?
  4. Hmm, I predict certain people will play it off saying HG is waiting for a bigger event to showcase bigger news for Robotech.
  5. From his talkshoe podcast, which really wasn't about Robotech at all and just spent time insulting a lot of them and others before going to a completely different direction, we're giving this elitist blowhard too much attention. It would be better to focus more on HG, since they're the ones that really matter, but in this situation that's not saying much. Remember, it's the 25th anniversary.
  6. He'd say you have a Peter Pan Syndrome. http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkC...8635&cmd=tc
  7. The cartoon was awesome, but the it sucked once it went to CBS and replaced everyone for the three special siblings.
  8. Anyone remember the Conan the Adventurer TV series (no, not the cartoon)? It had the big German dude from Gladiator. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conan_the_Adv...%28TV_series%29
  9. For everyone in that situation, in name only, maybe.
  10. Again, why should we care about LSC? He's just baiting people.
  11. If it was perfect, why did he permit a bunch of newbies to break down a huge chunk of what he established to go into another direction? Is he going to use the Batman defense this year?
  12. Crap, what the hell, Seto? You're getting too technical.
  13. I didn't know western story telling usually ends with a cliffhanger that either never gets a resolution or gets one, but is then reversed in favor of another cliffhanger.
  14. I like how MEMO came to his defense and dropping it with people agreeing to disagree. http://www.robotechx.com/forums/3-robotech...p;start=30#8983 That didn't address anything. I personally lump it all up into ethnocentrism, a la "translated" in English.
  15. I remember that grand vision of Robotech and all the memories behind the scenes. Remember when people talked about Reba West getting drunk in order to sing all the songs for Minmay? Also, many of the character lines that ended up being added spontaneously to fill time, which fans obsess over thinking they have a deeper meaning rather then showing it was a production that was rushed in some places (Rick Hunter - war criminal, etc.)? This was totally professional work, and much better than the stupid intentions of the Japanese. Carl Macek forgets that without the work done on Macross, Southern Cross and Mospeada before he ever touched them, he would not have a career. All the accolades he has received for the last 25 years happened because someone else practically made all the important parts that made up his epic which he stitched together without their consent. Tatsunoko does not count, since a legal battle ensued. In hindsight, it should have been no surprise to anyone how everything after the original 85 episodes turned out, since it was not Macek's talents that most fans were attracted to.
  16. There was this, at around 8:50 to the end. That's it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RYuHYTprkA Ignore that fact that this was during wartime, a lot of people just died, and she's a robot that disrobed into something more comfortable and now singing for no reason at all.
  17. Sigh, fine, you win. For the sake of better accuracy: Maverick_LSC has been waiting for Shadow Rising and Robotech's revival for 3 years and 4 months!
  18. I guess I don't know much about a franchise I do not believe in then. It's cool, the thing is on youtube and Hulu, making it as good as public domain these days. Anyway, it did end on a cliffhanger. What, regardless of their reaction to it, were people who watched Shadow Chronicles on the earliest release possible (theater or whatnot) expecting HG NOT to think about doing a sequel? It was heavily implied by the end of it that there had to be one without them making an official announcement for one. That is, unless this was the Sentinel's Curse all over again. I stand by what I said, immediately after watching Shadow Chronicles, fans were already waiting for a nameless sequel because for that film to really work it needs one, and a prequel, by default.
  19. Yeah, yeah, Shadow Chronicles will be 4 years old in August and etc. At this rate it will still be true even if significant news on Shadow Rising or the LAM actually comes out this year, of all years, since HG's work is unbearably slow historically.
  20. Honestly, why take anything that mod says seriously anymore. This is the same guy who said that Paramount was quaking in their boots about the Robotech LAM that it severely affected Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. He's also the guy who said some fans suffer from OCD on rt.com and generally talks like he's a jack of all trades and Hollywood. It's just another overblown speech with very unreliable information and bias from the same people. It absolutely hinges on HG doing anything besides offering merchandise to the public. His Robotech used to be about stories, remember? And reprints of the work done by the Creative Director every few years does not count. If it helps, whenever this happens, remember this: X has been waiting for Shadow Rising and Robotech's revival for 4+ years.
  21. Maverick_LSC has been waiting for Shadow Rising and Robotech's revival for 4+ years. Context is very important when analyzing posts like that. Maverick_LSC has been waiting for Shadow Rising and Robotech's revival for 4+years. It helps give a good picture of whether or not the whole thing is bias in one way or another. Maverick_LSC has been waiting for Shadow Rising and Robotech's revival for four years. It also helps to know a little bit about the writer, his position and etc., to give it the kind of attention it deserves. MAVERICK_LSC HAS BEEN WAITING FOR SHADOW RISING AND ROBOTECH'S REVIVAL FOR 4+YEARS. Please do not drag Gundam into your personal vendetta.
  22. It's going to be the second toy in Toynami's Robot Vinyl Collection, so I'm assuming it will have similar characteristics as the first one that's come out so far. The first was their vinyl Voltron. Unless the quality of their product actually improves, this may be a rough description of how the Battlepod will be like. http://www.collectiondx.com/review/character_toy/voltron
  23. Posting on this site and this thread potentially flags you as someone who needs to be banned/suspended from rt.com or rtx as a way to control dissent and the spread of more accurate information. But regardless of the stupid rivalry that's been going on, it's surprising that they're STILL so scared about this site that they monitor it, sometimes under the guise of catching up with friends, when they practically have their own "professional" one (the mods treat the HG site as their own as well, to the point of making rtx look almost a redundant sister site to it now). I think they've been trying to find my account on their sites as well (but they'll never find it). That's a HG lapdog for you.
  24. You could tell from the commercial that they really didn't care. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHPghzdcDVA
  25. Maybe part of the merchandise celebration for 25 years of just existing but not progressing. They need something to complement the replacement Maia Alpha retool and recolor (forget the Shadow Fighter moniker, that's what it really is in the the end), the stiff Vinyl Battlepod, and limited market RPG books to make the franchise look like it's still active and worth the hefty prices they're asking. Also, gotta keep the fandom focusing on what they really care about; Rick MacGuffin Hunter.
