Wake me when more important people actually care about Robotech, like Harmony Gold. Zzz...
-
You're forgetting money, or a large disposable income to devote to it without foresight. The stupider, the richer, the better.
-
Hmm, only in Robotech. I'm really looking forward to J T's review of End of the Circle (don't spoil it Seto).
-
I remember that epic and westernized storytelling of Robotech; the show relies on an unreliable narrator and the rest of material was sprinkled with TMI and character derailment. Oh yeah, but it didn't count because it was retconned to a 90 minute addendum.

I'd say that, to protect his job, he'll say anything ambiguous regardless of how the question(s) is structured to keep everyone thinking and hoping. a.k.a. Keep staling, because nothing is going to change the situation. Let's be honest, he can say anything at this point with little to no consequences as long as other people's lawyers are not sent against HG. And die-hard fans are willingly going to continue being screwed by inferior products.

It came with copies of Dragon Quest VIII.

By the end of the FFX, I wished Tidus sounded more like the mature voice used for his narration throughout the game. I don't even remember him switching to it once he was done retelling the whole game. I thought the FFXII demo gave people a pretty good idea what to expect from the game play. A demo for XIII might give away too much of the game, considering how it's organized. I'd try it, but how much of the game would I actually be playing if it happened?

Remember, since they're considered professionals they're fair game like Quesada. It's sad if they can't take criticism from some anonymous people online who didn't represent a huge chunk of the people they were trying to entertain years ago. Now though, they've helped that group grow.

You do know those guys monitor this site, right? At times, it's been enough to get people "proven wrong."
-
That should be expected when the only thing the company does now is stall indefinitely while teasing about an optimistic future from time to time. The more they do it, the worse it will get. In the end, they'll just wear down anybody who can't take it anymore by "proving them wrong." Trying to have a serious conversation about it is pretty much futile, especially when you have a PR guy and yes men moderators like these.

Does it matter at this point? They'll probably end up the same way as "Pizza" if they don't get fed up with constantly getting the run around by the usual people. And the people in charge have no problem having it end either way.

Like I told Gubaba, it's only now that he is a troll. Before, he was a fan with connections to the in crowd even though he was pretty much being used for something, but now he's alone.
-
And like clockwork, everything is back at square one, ready to start the whole process again. For any users on rt.com checking out this thread; when Kevin Mckeever says something like "People have said the same things you have been saying back then and they were proven wrong," stop all attempts at arguing with him. "Proven wrong," is code for "got banned" indiscriminately from the site. Knowing that, who would want to be proven wrong?

Was Gort really Pizza? I thought he was Babygirl83. http://www.robotech.com/community/forum/re...mp;pagenumber=5 If Gort wasn't him and just another fan asking very legitimate questions, I suspect blaming Pizza is now another blanket statement MEMO and co. can use to ban anyone.

On one hand, the VF-1S was just a machine that could be replaced, regardless of the good guy's capacity to build new stuff. On the other, while it wasn't super important like a Gundam, it was Roy's and had sentimental value to people. I don't know, both versions of his death had dignity in their own way. But why are people concerned about his ship? Someone important died.

I think it opened the door for many horrifying possibilities for fans; anything cheaply made and generic looking can now be called Robotech by HG and will succeed by default because quality doesn't matter anymore. Just starve people of materiel and then dangle a couple of things people remember and the whole thing will print money. Also, well, you know that meme that came out of Code Geass, "Everything is Fabulous!" Robotech's is moving towards, "Everything is Subjective!" thanks to this randomness.
-
Consequently, people expect Tommy to replace all that with something else with better quality on a regular basis. However, all of that stopped in 2006/2007, so for a lot of people going through all that trouble hasn't been justified yet. The novels at least gave people an ending to three generations worth of stories, and Tommy has yet to finish what he started. He only gave the world episode 86, and that's as generous as I'm going to get about Shadow Chronicles.

A macaw is a parrot. With the company looking more and more unlikely/unable to do anything with Robotech themselves, maybe they should have thought twice about cleaning house with continuity. At the most, canon is only the original series and Tommy Yune's various contributions to the franchise that still end on cliffhangers. Whether or not Robotech Battlecry is canon or not, for example, expy Jack Archer's fate is still ambiguous unless that was just another a-pull among many a-pulls in this franchise. At least there would be more to celebrate for this year if most of the progress since 1985 wasn't shafted.
-
The general mechanics of the game pretty much sounds like a Metal Gear Game, but without the sneaking.
-
But if the people running the show no longer consider them canon, or give the storyline in the novels and comic books no weight in the franchise anymore, what is the point? It just makes that stuff merchandise to make money off of for a good read or something nice to look at for the artwork. But, they may never represent real Robotech again, or at least the vision of what HG wants Robotech to really be now if they ever get the opportunity to act.
-
It doesn't shy HG away from still trying to sell those kind of things on their website, at least before, with many of the novels and comics sold out at the moment. Unless you're a fan of the books or just curious, there's very little incentive to buy them thanks to these guys.

So, anyone find Rick Hunter yet? Oh, and: Which Expanded Universe Is Most Unnecessary? HG pretty much defined what Robotech's expanded universe amounts to.

If John McClane was the one using the Cyclone, I can see him taking down a VF-1. Yeah, those kind of relationships do suck. It's just like in The Office.

The Big Brother and chess game mentality still bothers me. And SIGHUP would not be pleased by that. Shouldn't it be HIS site?
