Cool, an Advanced Wars board game: Advance Wars: The Board Game! -
You know what's sad? The people Harmony Gold is really trying to attract to Robotech's past and possible future will either never know about it or not care about it. Because in the grand scheme of things, this is just a minor incident meaning very little to them. So they decide to severely punish a few people for various undisclosed reasons. That's acceptable, only people like us will ever know it happened. Everyone else will be distracted with HG's convention panel tour speeches and some guy in a ridiculous Robotech-related costume on a yearly basis.

Without a giant humanoid or bug-like alien to fight against, battroid mode could(?) be less practical. I think that would mean more reliance on Destroids, acting like walking tanks and stuff. The VOTL aspect of GERWALK mode could be very valuable in certain situations. For instance, you wouldn't have to rely on a runway of some type to get into the air. Use thrusters to get the plane off the ground high enough to accommodate the transformation sequence, go into GERWALK mode, and boost upward and forward a bit before returning to fighter mode. It also makes landing easier and quicker too.

Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time

For a film I got to see on the Sci-Fi channel and the premium movie channels, it was decent. But having Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Shaggy from Scooby-Doo weirded me out. And thanks to the Greatest Movie Ever podcast about it, I can't take the space bulldozer scene seriously anymore. How accurate was the Wing Commander movie to the source material? The film made the universe sound interesting. -
Agreed. SIGHUP, if I offended you in any way in the past, I am very sorry for what I said or did before. But I have to say that it's a crappy situation(s) your site has been put into by other people recently.

You know, there's still time during the 25th anniversary year of Robotech for HG to hint why they would do something like this. But of course, this has happened before with them involving other fan projects and franchises , and nothing came up to justify it (like a C&D because something Robotech was probably coming up in the near future to warrant it, but nothing actually happening).
-
Hmm, when Harmony Gold perceives that you have wronged them in any way legally, they will bury you. Since this is a very open ended statement and what is considered wronging them is up to their discretion, probably everyone is at risk. The lesson from this; keep everything fan-related you value away from robotech.com & probably robotechx.com, dammit! That is, if there's still time.

Yeah, I knew, but it was really abrupt for a modern game, like a certain cartoon that hasn't shown life for three years. However, there's signs that Level-5 ARE committed to a sequel with trailer and relative release date. A huge advantage for them that everyone outside Japan got this around the time the sequel got revealed. I just think they could have put it into the one game instead of more. If this were any game up to the PS2 era, there would be more story or a message to swap the disc after the ending that was shown. But this is a Blu-Ray disc, so what gives? For example, It's my first experience with the latest gen game consoles.

You get one for Playstation Home automatically when your PS3 has a save file. Sony was also giving away a real one a while back. I'll still be playing WKC for the multiplayer, maybe even try a Let's Play or something. There better be some old save bonuses for White Knight Chronicles 2.
-
Yeah, like anything about the Robotech situation makes sense anymore, especially people openly accepting the constant silence treatment from HG. Toy and comic reprints and the same talk in convention panels do not count as progress. All of this used to have a story, remember? Despite its origins, it used to mean something. 3+ years since Shadow Chronicles ended on a cliffhanger just like The Sentinels, people.
-
*sigh* Turns out Level-5 skimped out on White Knight Chronicles. Story mode is pretty brief, and they devoted more to multiplayer. In fact, the trophies, Georama and item crafting are for multiplayer, because it's impossible to utilize any of them effectively offline.

Video Game Zoology: How 5 8-Bit Characters Would Really Look Who would want to see these in a B-movie? -
What good? If the money they make isn't used for the costs of new toys and etc., it may be going to Tatsunoko. Can't even make a sequel to anything with that arrangement, which IS what everyone wants from Robotech these days.
-
Remind me, what has Kevin McKeever done beyond Robotech to make his guest of honor spot actually mean something? I'd ask the same question from anyone from HG who got the same recognition.
-
I find it funny that here, it's a conflict between different companies and not individuals. From a fan's perspective, it weakens HG's position even if they take the legal route. No one in the company made the material, let alone have the ability to draw characters or mechanical designs until the 2000s, and can't do much except direct to DVD movies. They commission other, non-affiliated groups to make stuff happen.
-
That makes the announcement involving him from AOD this year less meaningful. He's usually a guest at panels anyway, as if he never left the franchise or HG. So he's officially back on board probably to do something relatively in the future. Does HG now have the ability to do anything with Robotech without Japanese or Korean animation studios? If not, then I guess people will still have to wait for something significant like always.
-
Seriously? MEMO sounded VERY excited about all the information he found out from AOD and wanted to both tell people and prove the naysayers wrong. He even posted videos of it.

Agent ONE wanted to know where I got my avatar pic. It's from here, but beware, the analysis makes video game characters look really weird and scary. Video Game Zoology: How 5 8-Bit Characters Would Really Look I might need to change it. -
Thanks, turns out people were right about it. It's decent, that's it.

Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time

Scientific accuracy be damned, fear mongering about potential threats to life through science fiction seems to be very profitable for Roland Emmerich. -
My current rule of thumb in this situation: People can say whatever they want about the current progress of Robotech, but if it's only die-hard fans and representatives from HG directly talking to a few individuals about what's going on using the same rhetoric, it doesn't mean much. It's their choice to write tl; dr posts, SCREAMING AUTHORITY pieces, @#$% ramblings, or just prove people wrong on a daily basis. If any venue outside all of this has something significant to say to back their claims, not crap to take very subjectively or little shout outs about Robotech, then it would actually mean something. But for now, they're pretty much propositioning the potential of Shadow Chronicles, Shadow Rising, the LAM, and their version of Macross (because not enough people care about Southern Cross or Mospeada without a connection with Macross).

Carl Macek can always do an autobiography justifying his work in the industry. I thought various books about the history of anime, or at least about the distribution of anime in the U.S. and abroad, had been released where Carl Macek and Robotech were looked at in a positive light. A.k.a., a necessity to get people interested in the medium at the time. There were a couple advertised in the Viz Video catalogs I used to get in the mail. I assume back in the day criticizing him regardless of his methods was taboo for the industry. I think I also remember a video documentary that showed Carl puzzled why he gets all so much flak about making Robotech, which included Tony Oliver for some reason.

If anyone's interested in playing multiplayer for White Knight Chronicles, I'll be somewhere online through GeoNet.
