  1. Got my shipping notice around 3 AM. That makes it a little over 4 days of preparation for shipping.
  2. Still pretty cool nonetheless.
  3. The Yamato one is from the VF-X2 game. I can confirm that the Yamato one is indeed a floppy mess and ugly to boot. That's the first I've heard of cracking arm joints on the Bandai one. Mine has been perfectly fine however.
  4. Nice poses, TC. I know that crotch plate is correct, but the plain looks of it in contrast to the rest of the super parts just seems wrong.
  5. Today is Halloween. That means we need some monsters! RAAAR! (Okay, I consider one a monster and the other an abomination )
  6. There are no stickers for the arrows that come with the FAST pack. I used the arrow stickers from the VF-1 FAST pack. If you have some and want it gray, you could probably just spray the stickers with gray acrylic paint and carefully peel and apply the stickers after they've dried. You're pretty much on your own for other sticker placement as well. I mostly went by the VF-1 packs for inspiration on placement on those also.
  7. Could you illustrate this with a photo or two? No matter what positions or contortions I try, those articulated hands just seem too large to fit in that tiny space within the arm.
  8. Mine is still preparing as well. They take an awfully long time to prepare these days, it seems.
  9. That is just plain awesome. It reminds me of photos where people themselves and their surroundings were painted on to look like 2D artwork. Something like this http://www.geekologie.com/2010/04/real-people-painted-to-look-li.php
  10. There's even less chance the VF-17 would be done again. I don't think it did so well and it only just came out last year and there's probably not much they could change with it to begin with.
  11. They made the VF-19 glossy because they started with the VF-19 Kai which was essentially a show bird and Kawamori wanted it to be glossy. Out of all the valks that Yamato came out with, the Sound Force ones would be the ones you'd expect to be glossy for sure. When they went on to do the F and S, since they shared many of the same parts and thus the molds, they just kept it glossy instead of adding the textures to the surface, presumably to keep the costs down. Perhaps going back and adding the textured surface after the molds were already in use for production was prohibitive/more trouble than it was worth.
  12. I did not, actually. However, it's never been in the way. If it was what was blocking the legs from going in, I'd have a bunch of scrapes on the clear coat from some forceful attempts. The trick for me is to align both legs and snap them in together. If I do one leg at a time, the other leg doesn't want to go in.
  13. I don't recall his VFs ever equipping a gunpod or assault knife in the left hand to attack. That said, you're allowed to pose it however you like
  14. For me and wm, it's not the leg rotation that's the problem. It's the fact that it's hard to get the peg into the hole in the leg armour for one of the legs unless you do it a certain way. Without the packs, it's easy.
  15. For Halloween, don't forget the M&Ms!
  16. Sorry, I guess I didn't fully spell out my thoughts there. In my head, I was thinking easier to implement and by extension cheaper as well.
  17. Grats on getting Minmay. It's always nice when you can obtain something you've been wanting for a while.
  18. That Fenrir really does share quite a few similarities with the YF-30. Especially the way the tail fins are attached. I wonder if Kawamori got inspiration from that design. It would be hard to believe that he didn't.
  19. None. I do it myself anyway
  20. I don't think it is because the tip had paint scraped off and I had to fix it.
  21. I like the look of battroid mode also, but the functionality of the arms is lacking due to being so short and having extremely limited range of movement.
  22. Both the VF-19's and Bandai's stuff is glossy plastic and with that, they're also fingerprint magnets and as wm cheng said, have those swirls and show scratches easily. I really hate that. At least with the other Yamato releases, the textured plastic also prevents ugly fingerprints from showing up. I think Bandai just does glossy because it's probably easier than making the molds have a textured surface. I don't mind gloss so much when it's actual glossy paint. It has a different look to it than glossy plastic which looks cheap to me. Back when I was collecting them, I preferred the Takara Binaltech Transformers to the Hasbro Alternators because of this.
  23. Great job on the finished piece. The controls look very detailed too.
  24. The old ones definitely had a more stable base since they were heavier due to being a solid piece of acrylic (both the base and the disc) rather than hollow and they're less prone to cracking as well.
  25. Or how about a close up of Minmay in the background with Hikaru's 1S superimposed in front ready to shoot the crap out of Boldolzaa?
