  1. That 1/72 VF-11B (non-FP version) was a PoS. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a near 100% breakage rate on the hips. It beats out even the cannon fodder 171 on breakage. So is there any mention on a more specific date or time frame that the YF-19 is going to be released now or is it just that it will be released "early"?
  2. I wipe it down really well with a wet paper towel and then use a brush to brush off any lint left over from the paper towel. The stripes on the wing root and wings themselves shouldn't be a problem as far as scratches are concerned. I had a problem with scraping on the stripes on the sides of the forward fuselage though. Some sanding on the area as well as on the LERX should help with that. You could try spraying some primer also. Just not too much or you might need to sand the inner side of the LERX more to give more clearance.

  4. I think Mommar means with the Super and Full Armour packs on, the booster parts try to occupy the same space as the shoulders and leave no room in GERWALK mode, which is absolutely true and was frustrating to me as well.
  5. Not so much nitpicking the CAD, just pointing out a flaw in the design of the 0D itself which the CAD just happened to illustrate.
  6. Just trying to find a silver lining in a dark cloud I just wish they at least had some bit of texture to the plastic. Not only so it looks less shiny out of the box, but so that there's more for paint to stick to. Their own paint has a hard time adhering to it!
  7. Yeah, I don't see it as Arcadia's fault. I'm just hoping they can work in some of their wizardry.
  8. I'm somewhat concerned about battroid mode for the 0D, or rather the poseability of it. Unless Arcadia is able to work some sort of magic, battroid mode is going to have some issues with the legs and the wings. In the CAD, the wing is clipping into the back of the leg already. Obviously they will fix that so the actual physical product will have enough clearance so the leg and the wings don't try to occupy the same space at the same time, but even then, it doesn't seem like you'll be able to move the legs back, much less bend the leg at the knee if the leg is straight since the wings go as far down as the calf area of the leg.
  9. Yeah, it definitely should be able to plug into the wings. I was able to secure it to the wings on both my 17S and D without any difficulty.
  10. That is some great work on the armor parts, mickyg! Definitely go with a matte coat. I think you'll find yourself being more satisfied with it after that. On the dot filter, I'd never heard of that until now. I had to look it up and it looks like a neat technique. I'll have to give that a try sometime. As for things being weathered in space, sure! Space can be a pretty harsh place and isn't a complete void like one might think. You've got all sorts of radiation out there from stars and other sources that could take its toll on paint. Random gases floating around in space. Not to mention flying through natural or battle made debris or smoke and fluids from explosions. Then there's the propellant from the missiles that could leave their mark on the paint. Probably also lubricants between the joints when it transforms. Not to mention valkyries are also used in atmosphere as well. In the end though, whatever the justifications, it's just to give it some "realism" even if it might not be realistically realistic On a side note, sometimes I make my head hurt trying to figure out how to weather valks because they transform. So things could go a different way while in GERWALK or battroid mode. In the end, I just assume most of the time is spent in fighter mode and just weather according to that.
  11. I love that color scheme for the GBP. For some reason, I like off-white/light-grayish schemes. Very nice work on that. Cool mod for the forearm to attach the reaction missiles too.
  12. While that's true about the ISPs, I think in this case it's more a case of the server not being able to handle the load and only those lucky enough to get through could manage to purchase one. I had hit refresh and it took over a minute for the server to return a page, when the minute before 4 PM Japan time, the page was loading fine. By the time I could get a page to load up, it was sold out.
  13. Well, it's back up at NY at 19,500 yen.
  14. They're usually late to the game. Sometimes they do it same day as everyone else, sometimes the day after, sometimes a couple weeks later.
  15. Dang, where the hell was I when ami ami and hobby search re-opened? I just looked at Mandarake and looks like all the ones there are all re-boxed storefront items or second hand items and sold "as is." Oh well. In any case, back to the Ozma 29, I hate all this guess work and uncertainty. I don't know why they don't just make them all web releases. They make as many as needed so they don't make too many or too few, which seems to me to be the ideal case. All this does is make people pissed off at them. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to what they decide to make into a regular release or what to make as a web exclusive either.
  16. Since the Isamu '29 was a made to order web exclusive, the ones still being sold are probably ones that someone had pre-ordered and cancelled, leaving the retailer to try selling them to someone else. I'm not so sure the Ozma 29 will be as easily available since it's a normal release. Both Alto and Ozma's valks seem to sell out quick and have been difficult to find, at least at sane retail prices. When Alto's 25 was re-released, the same bs happened with the all the online retailers, except NY with the usual jacked up prices, not having any for pre-order. I figured I'd wait until it actually came out to snag one. Except when it did, I wasn't able to catch one then either. I think Alto's 29 was also similarly difficult for people to obtain when it was re-released, having sold out pretty quickly. I have to decide if I am willing to give NY the pound of flesh they will undoubtedly be asking for in the next few batches.
  17. Not a shot side by side, but they were taken under the same lighting conditions and camera settings so comparing them should be valid. The 25A has a greenish tint to it that is noticeably different from the light beige color of Isamu's 29. Edit: In addition, you can see them in the same photo in some other people's posts like the ones below where they don't look very similar together either. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=34339&p=1098246 http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=34339&p=1097940
  18. The fact that it has an attractive paint scheme doesn't hurt either. If Ozma's 29 was a pink and neon green fighter with yellow swirls and purple polka dots, I'm not sure the sales would be as good.
  19. I finished weathering my last set of super parts that have been sitting around for months. Fighter GERWALK (yes only 1 pic. Couldn't even move the arms anywhere with the boosters in the way.) Battroid
  20. This! Waterslides like the ones included with their VF-1 releases. They look a lot better than stickers.
  21. Nice. Few people apply the stickers and even fewer take the time to trim them first. Good work. Did you use paint + thinner or an oil wash for the panel lining?
  22. I'm glad too. These things are getting way too expensive to have to go back and buy fixed versions.
  23. I found the super parts for my version 1 RVF-25 which I had misplaced for a while and put them on the corresponding toy. As it was with the valks themselves, it really helped me appreciate the renewal version of the super packs more comparing the two and seeing side-by-side the improvements made. The lack of detail on the version 1 packs and the simplistic build are much more apparent. To me, it feels like the difference between normal LEGOs and Duplo blocks. Snapped some shots of the two together.
  24. You may want to factor in the fact that the VT-1 had issues with cracked shoulder hinges like the earlier releases of the VF-1 v2.
